Tip: When using Ice-shroom at the right time, it will prevent Ambush Zombies from last wave of Pool/Fog/Roof from spawning at all. I don't know if it works for Night as well but it's worth trying. Tip: Use Puff-shrooms + Imitater Puff-shroom for free stalling in general. Tip: Starfruit spam is weaker against zombies at the top and bottom lanes. Putting extra firepower in the top and bottom lanes will balance out your defense. Tip: Gatling Pea strategies can be vulnerable to Digger Zombies. Planting Split Pea ahead of torchwood can help with that. Tip: If you manage to Hypnotize Gargantuar's imp, it can be very effective to deal damage to its former ally. Tip: When planted at the far left, there is a rare chance that Threepeater might be able to solo a Polevaulter Zombie coming from an adjacent lane. Tip: Don't use Cactus
It also shows how Cabbage-pult is better than Pea-shooter (or maybe even Repeater). It can deal with screen-doors, ladders, newspapers, and snorkel zombies effectively and isn’t affected the roof slope. Pea-shooters only pro against cabbage-pult is that Pea-shooter can be buffed by Torchwood.
@@vermillionshadow6170 there is a minor flaw with it. Say if you put a pumpkin on it. A zombie will start chewing on the pumpkin. The cabagepult will take time to fire and even take time to get its projectile to its target. Because a catapult projectile always has to go in the air before hitting the zombie (except for melonpult) meaning that in emergencies when say, a gargantuan throws its imp at the cabbagepult. Unless you have a pumpkin on it. It’s gone. Guaranteed.
Don’t forget: when playing on PC, to deselect a plant you already clicked on, just right click, it’ll deselect it. This is useful in it’s raining seeds, vasebreaker, and some other mini games
My Father's tip : Make sure to always use the regular wall-nut on wall-nut bowling if possible, so you can create a combo for each wall-nut and get a lot of money.
Torchwood Tips! Peas lit by a Torchwood deal splash damage Ice peas become normal peas when passing through a Torchwood Planting a Split Pea ahead of a Torchwood gives it enough firepower to do its job right (killing digger zombies)
i’ve never tested it out but surely if u but two torchwood’s infront of a snow pea it would turn to flame cos it goes from ice to normal to flame? obviously the biggest waste of sun but still cool tip aha if you ever have locked plants and those plants happen to be snow pea and torchwood
Tip: In the roof levels, if you place any plant that shoot's straight (besides Fume Shroom) on the last slanted column, it actually functions normally. Also happy birthday Detara 😊
Funny how when I was small I figured out my two best tricks The twin sunflower trick And the puffshroom stall trick where I would use puffshrooms and puffshroom imitators to stall gargantuars out and then hit them with 2 insta use plants at the same time.
In you have about 0.01 second to use an insta-kill plant, you can use Spacebar to pause the game and move a cursor to the seed packet while the game paused, then Space-Click-Space and move cursor to a tile. It often helps me in critical situations
that's moreso a tip to abuse bungees in i.zombie cause you can actually place 2 of them on a sunflower and both will collect sun if you're quick enough at the pausing thing apparently you can do it with 3 but i haven't gotten it to work
I found the tips quite helpful and really interesting, a good strategy to help you win is not let the zombies reach your house. It's a guaranteed win if you can pull this off. Also I am requesting the fun challenge idea again. You have to play survival pool (hard) to win, but you have to choose the plants listed below. Sunflower or Sun-shroom Repeater or melon-pult Pumpkin or wall-nut Lily pad or Tangle kelp Winter-melon or Cat-tail Squash or potato mine Puff-shroom or Fume Shroom Peashooter or cabbage pult Coffee bean or Twin sunflower Spike weed or Jalapeño
Tip: for advanced sun production, use the potato mine + squash combo to kill the approaching zombies only on the 1st wave/flag, but if more than 2 zombies appear, thats the indication that you have to start planting
If you type : Mustache Trickedout Dance Future Daisies Sukhbir Then something might happen. For some codes, your tree of wisdom has to get to a certain height (250, 500 and 1000 m)
Tip: In every Survival levels (except roof) always plant Sunflowers on the 2nd or 3rd row This will prevent catapult zombies and digger zombies to kill your sunflowers you can also add gloom and umbrella leaf in the back to defend it from Bungees, Diggers (Gloom can't solo a digger, use pumpkin) and Catapults
Two glooms can actually kill diggers if the 1st column plant has the average hit box because the difference zombies will first walk to the plant slowly while gloom kill them
Tip 1: you can plan the coin magnet shroom on magnet shroom without using coffee bean. Tip 2:there's a strategy for endless mode. First, plant garlic at the far right tile at top and bottom lane, put sun flower on every tile behind the garlic, with this strategy you could get so many SUnS for planting .(But you have to change those lanes after gargantuas join the game)
Instead its possible to not delete the top lane but only the bottom lane when gargantuars arrive, because the gargantuars cant spawn on the top lane, so you could be able to turn the top lane sunflowers into twin sunflowers, so the sun production would be the same
Day 9 of my idea: you can only use the plants that you get from the zen garden! The concept: u can only use 16 plant pots (in the zen garden) to plant in and whatever u get in those 16 plant pots are the only plants u can use in ur deck! (If the challenge is to hard u can use lily pads). If this happens: if u get multiple of the same plants (in the zen garden) you can shovel it up and replant it with new plant's. Plus: No lawnmowers or shovel can be used and u have to play on survival pool hard.
To be honest i reconsidered about this challenge about not actually being something else because its just like 1 plant each but a small difference though
Tip: Gargantaur don't usually spawn at the top lane except on Survival Endless. Tip: Sea-Shroom are not completely useless. It can be used for stalling zombies in the pool, The reason that make it bad is its own cooldown. Tip: When you are playing Survival Night, as you can see there is no sun falling. And you can only use mushrooms especially sun Shroom. But little did you know, you have a 50 free sun at the start. Instead of choosing sun Shroom, choose sun flower. Since it produces sun faster. Tip: Annoyed to Digger, Balloon zombies? Well instead of using Cactus, Blover, Starfruit and Split Pea, you can use Insta kill plants. For example, Cherry Bomb, Jalapeño, Doom-Shroom, Cob-Cannon. And yes you need to plant it near them in order to defeat them. Tip: Repeater is much valuable than a normal Peashooter. Since it can shoot 2 peas at a time, fast recharge and only uses one tile. Tip: Melon-Pult or Winter Melon's projectile splash damages the zombies at the nearest lane. Meaning damaging a 3x3 area but 50% of the damage is decreased. Tip: Starfruit is better than Split Pea. Spam them and it's all done. It can even kill zombies in short range by shooting 2 projectiles at a time. Tip: When playing Zomboss Level, when you remove the 4 lanes except the middle, and get activated it by a zombie then Zomboss will never place a zombie on that lane again. Instead he will place them on the middle meaning you can instantly kill them with Jalapeño with no difficulty. Tip: Use Puff-Shroom against in Survival Endless. Place it in front of your defences and plants. To also stall the zombies, especially if you have Winter Melon it can help slow the Gargs smash a certain plant. Tip: Scaredy Shroom is gay
Tip: In harder mods and in survival, Split Pea is good for taking out zombies behind Wall-nuts/Tall-nuts/Pumpkins if they are deep into your defenses, as they cost only 125 sun for a repeater. Typing "Dance" when your tree of wisdom is tall enough makes the zombies slightly slower, and typing "daisies" will show you how far zombies made it into your defense with little flowers when they die.
FUTURE code makes zombies instantly move to another line after biting the garlic. That may sound useless, but in fact, it may be used to reduce/increase the pressure on a lines next to the garlic.
Tip: when placing sunflowers, leave one row behind them empty. This is great for protecting your defenses, and you can get the most out of offense and defense.
This one will hit hard for eclise players (well used to maybe not now) Always spam sunflowers, even when you think you have enough, there is no reason to only have 2 columns of sunflowers, just keep planting more and replace the sunflowers furthest back with attacking plants when needed. This can achieve 2 purposes: 1. You will earn far more sun 2. By placing sunflowers in the front, they can essentially act as a meat shield, so when the zombie horde gets rough, they can be used to stall the zombies, making it your defence stronger Btw this tactic is called sun spam
Challenge: protect the Shrooms. On survival pool. Fill the back column with Sea-shrooms and Puff-shrooms and don’t let them die. No coffee beans allowed. No wall-nut, tall-nut, pumpkin, garlic, or umbrella leaf.
Tip: blovers will push back the entire board , so you can take out 2-3 "waves" of balloon zombies with a single Blover by waiting until they're at the very last column.
@@businessmanbrute2211 bro he's literally just saying how a plant is used, he's not being useful at all. That's like if I said, "peashooters attack zombies" it's obvious man
Imitator Puffshroom may be a great stall since when in it's imitator form it seems invincible therefore making it a great stall in my opinion if you put it right next to a zombie Edit: I'm not sure if anyone knows this so yea
A great tip that I lernead is that if you put your peashooters on the first Lane and the sunflowers on the second, you can take a vonehead zombie with just 1 peashooter
Day 5 of asking for the funnel challenge, use garlic to funnel zombies into a single lane. no damaging instas are allowed, doom shroom, cherry bomb, etc.
but how? the way a zombie moves after eating garlic is random. the only way this would work is on pool or fog, because the game treats the boards there as three (two lane boards).
Been playing the game with the same strategy for years and you can go threw the game with very little deviation. I refer to plants like potato mine and squash as “stalling” plants as they holt the zombies for long enough to collect enough sun for just about anything. You can also use chomper, wallnut and spikeweed as stalling plants. The zombies still have to walk all the way across the lawn, eat a full wallnut and then get eaten by chomper. Place another wallnut and you’re set for the next zombie. Gives chomper enough time to eat the first one. The game isn’t really fun when you employ the same tactic over and over again. But the fun part is making your own rules and challenges.
i started out fucking despising the game because i was playing it like a normal game, not realizing it would've been a lot more fun if i had spent the time doing something retarded like potato mine as the only attacking plant
Another tip: If you're a JTTW user. You choose a atttacker hero plant. Then one zombie approaches. If don't have to worry to plant your attacker plant. Puff shroom or potato mine
Yes of course of course of course day 9 of asking Detara to play survival nighttime hard with no plants fully covered in red, yellow or blue (Have fun if you ever even do the challenge)
@@LiterallyBlackmore yeah but a lot of that imitated plants still have a little tone, like the magnet-shroom that his imitater version have a reddish tone xD
bowling tip: only plant when the conveyor belt is almost full and only plant regular nuts especially early game. only plant when a second or third horde appears and plant to the far left. this is the only minigame i ever struggled and these tips help me through a lot
@@spazerdazer8421 A bunch of zombies are immune to garlic, such as Pogo, Zomboni, and Gargantuar. And at least one of those is practically guaranteed on Survival Hard. In addition, Catapults would be a pain because the recharge time on Gloom Shroom is the same as all other upgrade plants; very slow. And Balloon Zombies would be straight up invincible. The nature of the challenge suggests insta-use plants aren't allowed. (except for Ice Shroom) Couple that with upgrade plant being incompatible with Imitater, and I'd say it's impossible. (On Survival Hard, that is. Regular Survival Day and Night would probably be possible.)
@@LumaTotUwU Zombonis would suck but at least in pool you only have to worry about top and bottom lane. Catapults are nothing cause umbrella exists, and you can easily stall Gargantuars with fast charging plants if you store up enough sun, which you would be able to do. Pogos as well don't have enough life and would die trying to jump over the glooms. The only real problem area is zomboni cause there is 0 counter play and glooms can't be in the same lane given their range. Also ice shrooms deal 1 point of damage and should be banned.
@@spazerdazer8421 balloon zombies though. Only works if the game either decides to spit out no balloons against you or you don’t counter blover as an attacking plant.
@@johnnodwarf1201 Ah yes, true. That is the requisite luck involved, but you can handle some balloons as long as they don't double a lane, if you hold on to all of your mowers.
Challenge: you can only plant in the 6 light squares in the middle of the lawn. (row 3, column 2 and 4, row 5, column 2 and 4, and row 7, column 2 and 4)
Thanks for the tips Detara! I'll be sure to keep them in mind when I retry my run in PvZ on the DS Day 7 of requesting Survival Day Hard using only plants that appear in the I-Zombie puzzles!
@@Banana8D910 yeah, becuase if we count all of the plants, it wouldn't be that hard, since you have sunflowers, threepeaters, wall nuts, torchwood, potato mine, puff shroom, chomper, starfruit and some more, it wouldn't be that hard with all of those.
1. Garlic can be used as a Wall-nut in Zombotany and Zombotany 2. 2. You cannot plant a Flower Pot above a Lily Pad. 3. You can place a Pumpkin over a Cattail. 4. Umbrella Leafs also block the zombies Bungee Zombies drop at the final wave. More: 5. Hypnotizing a Jack-In-A-Box Zombie can act as a random bursting Cherry Bomb. 6. You can easily achieve the achievement "Last Mown Standing" on Level 1-1. Just plant the Peashooters on the right and... you get the idea. 7. When playing Zombotany, right click your mouse and hear the magic. 8. Torchwood can clear fog. 9. When the Zomboni gets his tires popped with Spikeweed on the 5th tile, the Zomboni actually flips over before it explodes.
Tip: If you put sunflowers in front of your defense, it will give more time for your attackers to kill the zombie. If you do not, your attackers get eaten first. Or just plant defensive plants.
Challenge: on any level, when ever you place a plant you have to make it symmetrical as fast as possible, and if a plant is eaten repair it unless the plant on the opposing side was also eaten.
Something somewhat simple yet useful is that you can just not wake up Doom and Ice Shrooms on Day stages and have them ready to just use the Coffee Bean on them when needed
In Zombotany, use short plants that the zombies can't shoot: - Sun-shroom - Puff-shroom - Coffee bean (well, mushrooms need them) - Spikeweed - Spikerock - Potato mine Also, explosives like cherry bomb, doom-shroom are allowed too...^^
*Here are some of my tips:* - If you're using a mobile version, you can select and plant sunflower right when you start the battle by fast-clicking. - Snow-pea, puff-shroom, and imitater are enough to solo stall a gargantuar. Try it! - Cactus and cattail have the same ability, but cattail can attack anywhere! If you've got the sun, you can use cattail instead of the useless cactus. - Gloom-shroom may seem useless if used with wall-nuts or tall-nuts, but if you use pumpkin, gloom-shroom becomes a offensive defensive plant! - Squash is not a good option if you are going to stall zombies at early game, potato mine and imitater are a much better option. - Blover in fog has much more abilities than just blowing away baloon zombies. Even if the level doesn't have them, you can use blover to blow the fog away!
also, catapults have a longer hitbox for damage than crushing plants. if you put a potato mine on the second to last column from the zombies, catapults can activate it but not crush it
Huge tip: get two columns of sunflowers, typically used with double potato mine to save up a ton of sun tip: use imitater sunflower in survival endless to combat the increasing cost of upgrade plants
"also a little something to make it possible" what? giving you access to sunflower is more than enough, and it honestly kinda invalidates it, as saving up for even something like threepeater isn't that difficult with them
Day 3 of asking - use cob cannon as only attacking plant on survival Night (Hard) . It is possible , I have done it myself. Sun plants and defensive plants are allowed . Hint - Plant some sunflowers, sacrifice some lawnmowers , immitate wall nut and use garlic and wall nut
Tip: Place a flower pot, coffee bean,pumpkin,Fume-shroom and Gloom shroom to get the 5 plants n' 1 tile plant. the minimum requirement for this is 400 sun
Something I've found is that using imitater sunflower can get you crazy eco, at least in survival day. then you just replace the sunflower field with defenses from back to front.
tip: if a gargantuar is killing a plant that has a pumpkin, if you remove the pumpkin before the gargantuar smashes it, it doesn't kill the plant. really useful when it tight situations.
The Pool doesn't have zombies that are generally dangerous (can kill your plants in one hit), and because of that, you can easily spam very OP plants in the pool like Gloom-Shroom or Cattails. This strategy is a must during Survival-Endless.
Ah, I've been playing the game for 6 years already and still very nice to come back to it every time i remember about it) And talking about the first trick: I usually do 2 vertical streaks of sunflowers, and after this i update all of them to the double sunflower condition.
fun tip: its better to plant the sunflower at the second tile because if a zombie is getting close the sunflower could be a shield so the attacker could kill it without removing a lawn mower :)
Tip: zombies that hold things in front of them like screen door, newspaper and ladder can be countered by us using plants that hit through or other directions
Considering the fact that i found out many tips for the game myself without looking on the Internet, here are some tips: -The Twin Sunflower tip can also be used for Melon-pult and Winter Melon. When you place the Winter Melon to the Melon-pult place right after it lobs a melon, there is a high chance it will immediately lobs winter melon. -Catapult zombie won't crush a plant on the 8th column if it is not protected by Pumpkin, but it will get crushed if there is -If a plant is laddered then plant a Pumpkin in its place then dig the plant you don't need. If Pumpkin is laddered then plant a plant in its place then do the same. Ngl most tips are easy to be figured out.
You could theoretically combine the double potato + squash trick with the fast progression method in 2 flags of hard survival. Double potato + squash first, then put melons at around the middle while using other Instants. It may be redundant, or maybe more difficult than I anticipate. I'll have to try it sometime.
Idk if this challenge is to easy, but play pvz vertically(which zombie spawn from the bottom), survival hard pool. Any plants can be used. Double the game speed(optional)
Tip: this one is risky, but sometimes you can let a zombie take a nibble of your mine so you have more time to kill it, so it's not wasted on a half dead zombie
Shoot I forgot about your birthday so Happy belated nevertheless! In Versus Mode as the Zombies, you can use Bungee Zombies as bait to beat out Potato Mines and other traps on the plant side, while getting a zombie close to the house/mower, plant Graves at the front and back and pressure, the less damaged they are, the more likely they'll produce Brain power, and that is most likely the case after planting in the front. My brother got stumped by that. Disco Zombie has an underestimated charge time, when the Plant side kills one, there's usually enough recharge time that passed to throw another, the Disco Zombie can also spawn backup dancer zombies again after one gets beaten by a lawn mower, severely hurting the plant side as most likely they'll have to use an Instant to stay in the game. Btw don't trust the Gatling Pea's projectile hitbox offset up close against Imps, so many times I outright missed them, I thought they were specific to the console version but they also affect the original version, maybe it's because their hurtbox is small? Speaking of a level to beat, Android TV China 2-9 is such BS to attempt to beat without using premium recharges (likely impossible), even with the Potato Mine + Squash strategy, the zombies will eventually push in and beat your defenses. -I swear the Dolphin Zombie never appears in it-
I know this is 2 years late, but happy birthday! i would have wished you a happy birthday, but unfortunately I just discovered your channel at the time of typing this comment. Anyways, liked and subscribed :)
Tip: most people put they're sunflowers at the 1st row(row means the tiles going down) And put their attacking plants on the second, I recommend putting the sunflowers at the 2nd row and attacking plants at the 1st since they have more time to kill the zombies
Tip: treat your neighbors well because they will be helpful when there's a zombie apocalypse, especially if the person's name is Dave. And if such event occurs, don't go grab your guns and knives, start planting :3
If you're playing survival endless and have cob cannons in the water where the algae zombies appear on the last flag, plant a doom shroom in the water when the final wave is about to happen, and wait until the "a huge wave of zombies is approaching" message disappears. As soon as it does, place a coffee bean on the doom shroom, and it will explode right as the zombies appear in the pool
Put at least one set of attacking plants behind your sunflowers! They’re harder to replace (generally have longer recharge and/or cost more) and the sunflowers give time for your plants to do damage if you’re struggling. I’d recommend sunflowers in columns 2 and 4 from the left!
what did you think of it? i hope you tried using wacky strategies instead of playing it the normal way like i did, because that becomes excruciatingly boring very quickly
A tip that i know:at the start put a sunflower when a zombie comes to the flower lane put a spudow so you gain time to get suns (hopefully that helped you❤)
Tip: Twin Sunflowers cost 2x more than sunflowers in 2 rows going vertical, Example: Twin Sunflowers cost (50 {to spawn a normal sunflower} +150 {to upgrade it})=200x5=1000, but 50x(2x5)=500... It depends what you prefer if you are saving area to plant choose the Twin Sunflower if youre going for the cheaper option go for the normal sunflowers, Oh and Normal Sunflowers also save an additional slot.
Tip:when using torchwood, make sure that there is a wall nut or tall nut in front of the torchwood so you can protect torchwood and the peashooter type plant(except snow pea)
Challenge suggestion: Beat zombotany but you can only use plants that cannot get hit by the peas in the peashooter zombie. You can use sunflowers or coffee beans.
Plant sunflowers in two columns, this allows the player to gain as twice sun as one,and can actually equal to a column of twin sunflowers. This trick was from my dad back when I was a child and few months later on I managed to singlehandedly beat the first part of the game before my dad did. In the end, doesn't sound like a trick but worth giving a shot.
