I'm in a place in my marriage that I'm scared of motherhood. I've never had a good example growing up, and videos like this really help me to move past these common perceptions of kids ending your life. Really great points, love your channel!

So glad I am able to provide any encouragement! I have most definitely struggled with those feelings in the past as well!

I found this to be such practical, sensible and accessible advice. So much advice is really hard to apply/ like when people just say “use your time wisely” or “focus on self care” but there’s no actual practical explanation of ways to accomplish that in the reality of mothering little ones. This was fabulous! Thank you for sharing 😊

Wonderful advice! Over the past 32+ years (and as I've shared before raising 12 children...8 of which are now adults and 4 still at home), I, too, had to learn to prioritize what to do during nap time. I don't have a you-tube channel, but there are other projects that I learned to work on during naptime (like sewing when mine were little), so I could be the best mom I could be to my children when they were awake. Like you, I love to garden. I wanted to instill a love for gardening in my children, so I have always had my children out in the garden with me and I tried to make it enjoyable for all of us, by sparking their curiosity and involving them by helping them to plant something of their choice whether it be in a pot or a corner of my garden. So then they had personal involvement in planting and caring for that plant. It's be a real joy to watch as they are successful with their plant and to give them a small section of my garden to plant as they wish as they got to be older. You are right that in the beginning when they are young, there will be things picked or walked on, and when they are old enough to use a hole to weed or to pull weeks by hand, there will be plants pulled as they learn which is which. In the end, you will have children who will be a big help in your garden and may very well love it....even if they don't realize it as teens. I have grown daughters who now keep gardens of their own and involve their children. One of my greatest joys is having not only my children in the garden with me, but having my granddaughters in the garden with me. I love seeing things like a seed sprouting or a seedling emerge through a child's eyes. The world look so different when you take the time to look at it through a child's eyes of seeing or noticing things for the first time. You are a wonderful mother and a great example to others around you.

Wow, you sound like such a fabulous mother and grandmother! How utterly beautiful and wonderful!:) I am so thankful for women like you who have set such a godly, and priceless example of being a loving mother to other young women out there!:)

I really resonated with the idea that if you put a lot of unnecessary pressure on yourself is when you become more easily irritable. I too would try to apply my “working woman” mindset to staying home by creating deadlines and being overly strict about routines that in the end was making me more stressed. Now I just allow the day to flow naturally and I still end up getting everything done and sometimes more bc I’m in a better mood. I have a ten month old :). It’s hard sometimes cooking with him under my feet, but I’m hoping this will get easier when he’s bigger.

Very wise advice and insight. It is so easy to fall into. I still do it sometimes and have to go back to my own advice😂😂

I never felt that way about my children... Waiting for them to leave at 18. You listened to the wrong people. Lol I had similar experience with a woman tell me negative, "wait until their teen years" There were some challenging seasons but the beautiful ones outweighed the negative. 😌 You are wise beyond your years.

You are so wise to have discovered these things while your children are still young. Their lives will be blessed for it, as well as your own. The old saying that “the days are long, but the years are short” is so true! My children are grown now and, of course, I was not a perfect mother. My children, however, always knew that one of my favorite places to be was…with them! I am so thankful for the time I have with them! May God bless you in your adventures as a mother!!❤️

thank you for making this video, it taught me to say "yes" when my daughter asks to "help clean" or do the dishes or help cook. Such a good reminder that I didnt know I needed.

You are wise beyond your years! I am an older mom now, with teenagers down to elementary ages, and I wish I had done more of this when my kids were little. Especially including my kids in tasks to be done around the house. It would have saved me so much frustration and we all would have had a better experience.

I completed 2 degrees at university whilst having my children. I submitted my final thesis for my masters 5 weeks before my 5th baby was born. I worked out quickly that I had to be a mum during the day and a student at night (aside from time on campus). It was hard but so much better because my family and duties weren't neglected and I could focus on my studies when they were asleep. I feel like I got more done during those years than I do now!

I have two under two and I e really been trying to not set my son in front of the tv as much bc one a lot of shows just are not appropriate for him besides veggie tales etc and that show is not even the same as it used to be when we were growing up and two I think unplugging the tv completely helps with our electricity bill and makes it more special when we do watch tv. I feel like the tv and my phone and stuff etc really has no content I can trust for him anymore unless I watch it first. And no one has time for that. But my struggle has been family members want to buy him electronics etc.. and I’m not sure how to politely say no when my husband and I aren’t on the same page. I knew he believed in God when we got married and I was already pregnant by two months I believe and I know now I’m forgiven but I’ve been growing in my faith so stinking much! I grew up going to church my whole life but was raised in public school and my home life although they tried there best was toxic at times and very based on feminist attitudes. I see woman like you and I can’t help but pray over you and your beautiful family. I’m here having to fight a far daily to break my old ways and trying to submit to my husband who just admitted to me the other day he does not fully believe in everything the Bible says. If other unmarried Christians are watching this please listen to this warning and do not go in blindly untill u know how you and your future spouse want to handle things in the home like money and children etc. also if you were NOT raised to have homemaking skills like I was please practice cooking and cleaning and stuff before hand. This world of submission is so beautiful to me but still so new also I’m becoming the Christian black sheep so to say in my family but what no one around me seems to realize is that when they say they’re Christians they too should be striving more to live in these biblically called high roles of womanhood and motherhood. Keep making videos sis I will be watching! And if you could spare a prayer for my husband who I believe has a very very tiny mustard seed faith.. I could use that because I have a desire for him to lead and learn to love Jesus like I do in actions also. I know I’m definitely got a lot to learn and practice still. I’m also having to pray that I can get my act together so to speak with him being on board with the idea of them being homeschooled one day and everything thinks that’s crazy around me. I went through so much abuse and heartbreak for so long trying to conform with this world and seeking love outside of marriage when that really doesn’t exist I know now. It’s taken so long for me to heal but Jesus strengthens me EVERY day. I DO not want that for my son and definitely not for my daughter. I wish I knew woman like you out here in fl where I live with husbands who I could bring to my home who might possibly be an amazing influence towards my husband too. I’m praying for change my home needs it I can’t let the generational curses continue ! 😢🙏 but God is stronger than all my fears and worries lol btw I’ve watched about half your videos today while trying to clean my home 😂 thankyouuuuu

It is so good to meet you. Oh, my heart breaks. It sounds like you are in a very tough situation. I read this comment back a week or two ago and although I didn’t have a chance to reply to it right away, I prayed for you and for your husband. May god be your strength through your difficult situations. 💕💕

Why don't you just respect your husband's different beliefs from yours? I'm a Buddhist and my husband is a Christian. We've been married 22 years. We respect and value our differences, we don't try to change one another, and this is how we have a good relationship and a very peaceful home.
