Nice one. Yeah 34 c is actually made in three pieces. Not two. See a Lotta peeps describe it as two. I love this piece of kit and for me works just fine. Love how it fits together. Solid, simple, exacting the way it holds the blade whichever one you choose. I love the way the screw thread sits deep within the central piece (ie the mystery third piece) . I'm sure this helps with stability. The short stubbiness makes it easy to use, the weight is perfect. I'm sure I may pick up another razor of some sourghts but for now this is all I need. Great razor.

I find that in my merkur 34c, one side of the blade protrudes out slightly farther than the other side. Is this just my razor? Or is this a trait of many safety razors?

Not sure bout that, it should be even as it suppose to be well engineered. U could ask merkur about that. Would of thought unless it's been dropped it should be precise. 😁

Thanks for the video, I returned to DE Shaving after 33 years and i'd been struggling (mix and match) for the first four weeks. Stuck to your guidelines and without getting too confident, i think that sticking with the same products for the first month, is starting to pay dividends. CHEERS

I think from what you said I might be holding the blade to steep, when I go against the grain the blade catches quit a bit

Ian Bramley I’d suggest the Merkur 34c. It’s a rugged beast. :)

Thanks for the insight. i started wet shaving in December.. You mentioned you wet shaved for 3 to 4 months before you could go against the grain, I feel I may be on the same program. Im thinking the more i wet shave my skin will get used to it? or get less irritation.... my neck ares gets pissed when i go against the grain, bad irritation razor bumps, I want a BBS shave, thats why i picked up we shaving. However I'm still getting it. your thoughts? Im using great products lite pressure, I'm watching all the videos,
@Cap7597
@Cap7597 7 лет назад
stanley McKinney I know some that have a really hard time with irritation on their neck and other places. One shaver I know does 2 passes WTG and that's it. Another one mainly uses an adjustable razor. Uses the more heavier settings on all areas but his neck. He puts the razor on setting 1 and very very lightly goes over the neck. Try a pre Shave oil, and also try Proraso's pre shave Balm. My neck I use a closer angle. So instead of a 30 degree, I use like a 20 degree. Hold the handle at the very end too, don't choke up. The main thing is keep trying stuff. Everyone is different. But only change one thing at a time so you know what works and what doesn't, if you know what I mean. What razors are u using?

Good video . I have only shave once so far . I cut the hell out of my chin and kneck . I do not want to give up . I think I just need to learn. I have a mole under my chin . I think I will need to keep using the cartridge razer for that stop .

I had to get back to you . I had my second shave and it went great . I did not cut myself at all . I did use a pre shave oil . It really helped . Then I used Nivea shave cream. Loved it .
