A bit pricey

How does it compare with Parker Variant? Seems kind of pricey at $165 even though 316 steel when I got all brass Variant for $50.

They are asking way too much $$ imo. Maybe half their asking price and even then🤷🏼‍♂️

Comparative shaves are always helpful. However, if I was in the market for one of those, I'd choose the Progress. Why pay more than double the price for an imitation? BTW, I followed your lead and shaved with my Rockwell 6S using only the R1 plate. While I managed a BBS result, I still prefer the R3 or R4 plate. I guess it comes down to what one gets used to? Anyway, you proved that blade gap is not as big a deal as some would like us to believe. The 6S (or 6C) is still the best option for newbies.

Great shave. The fact that the Progress came out before the Fatboy is shocking to me and a lot of people as well. Honestly, if I were you, I would have to go with the Progress for the price and performance. I love the Dorco Titan blades, as they’re both sharp and smooth for me. The 100 pack for them is also affordable at like $10. Have a good one!

Eucris is a fabulous scent. I think it's great that Yaqi have made a SS Progress clone, the Merkur Progress is a great adjustable design that's been made since the mid 1950's and I used it for years. The Avanti price seems reasonable for a polished Stainless Steel precisely machined offering, would be nice to have a satin finish one as well. Iced Tea brush looks nice.👌🤠👌

I thought the Progress was brass coated with nickel, so if that's correct it is still a pretty solid item.

People say it's a bit pricey, I disagree. it's still half the price of an ambassador polished (at least in canada). Its the first time they have produced this design. It stands to reason it would be a bit more expensive than their other SS adjustable razors. Not to mention, it will last multiple lifetimes if taken care of.

As the patents expire on the original razors, Chinese makers put their own take on the originals. I must say, this Chinese take on the Progress has its own charm, esp. with stainless steel as well as some other interesting variations from the original Progress. Let's not forget, Gillette in the 1920s & '30s was swallowing up (buying out) both German (Rotbart) and British double-edge razor makers. Nothing new under the sun, I suppose..thanks for showcasing and always a laugh to see you. Cheerio

Look here Kevy Parr, I have a bone to pick with you! Usually, I can practice finger style guitar exercises while watching your videos. But not this one! It was an abomination of scraping and raking noises. Good gracious that is a loud razor. It literally drowned out my acoustic steel string guitar. I expect to be able to play my tunes while you babble on. Tone it down. Don't make me send Nessie over there to come and have a little chat with you😅.

I like the look and love my progress, just wish the handle was like my Parker variant open comb. I use alum on my fingers for grip, but man that Parker variant open comb is a great razor as well with a much better handle IMO.
