HOW IS IT, TO LARP WITH KIDS?
Two years ago, during the preparations for Conquest of Mythodea, I filmed my friends of the "Staildubh" and asked them for their personal 5 tips on how to LARP as a family.

I am one of the main NPCs at "Dark World" - And my baby/toddler was with me the whole time. He´s 3 now.

oh how cool!! How did you manage having him with you while playing an NPC? What were your best tips on how to handle that best?

@@SonjasAdventures when they designed my costume I already knew I was pregnant. So we designed it to be strechy (who knows how much weight stays^^) and easy to open for breastfeeding. And I bought a "sling" in the same colors my dress will be in. We adjusted the decor on the dress to match with the sling. I am still bothered that my wig was always somewhere it did not belong because the baby enjoyed pulling it - but next time I am prepared for that, too. galerie.dark-world.info/picture.php?/4144/category/22

Das wurde aber auch zeit das mal wieder ein Video kommt. In den dunklen zeiten in denen wir leben hätte ich öfter mal nen Bracar gebraucht :)

aaaaw, das ist ja mal ein Kompliment! Wir haben letzte Woche auch schon eins veröffentlicht - und auf Instagram und Facebook gibt es fast täglich neue Posts, aaaaber ich gelobe Besserung 😁👍Es wird auch wieder mehr RU-vid Videos geben 💪

I've been taking both my kids to larps (and reenactment) events since they were born. They're 16 & 18 now. larping on their own merits

whoaaa, so they still like it? I mean, sometimes kids refuse what they "had to do with their parents" so I think it's super cool they are still into it!

My daughter is currently 1 year and 2 months old. I want to bring my daughter on my larp adventures. I think it’ll be very fun and educational for her. And the larp I go to does encourage children of all ages to come as long as their parents/guardians come too.

That must be so spacy, far out for the kids... sounds sooo exciting, beautiful.... I bet they re verý thankful later... not to get parked in front of a TV / PC .... to me it sounds you re doing everything right... I wish you the best, ride on..

Hey Dagmar, I personally don't have any kids but the family in this video definitely has a happy family and enjoys going to Larps. Their life is full of adventure and getting to know people from all kinds of backgrounds

you mean for the kids? 😁 yeah, I think parents do have some extra "baggage" when going anywhere with their family. It's just part of it, I guess

FFS... I hate it when people bring anyone under 13 to these things. They're just responsibility bombs that no one else should be forced to deal with. Also no one wants to see a suckling child just as they don't want to see someone taking a dump in the woods. They are both bodily functions that should be kept private.

I have a different opinion on this. I actually not only consider it normal to see a child breastfed, I even think it's cute and motherly. We have made really great experiences with families with young kids at Larp events. The kids are so extremly happy, sleep the whole night and wake up excited for the next day. It's something, that they will remember for the rest of their lives and which often has a very positive effect on them. But hey, everyone is entitled to their opinion. =) That's why it's great that Larp events for all tastes are happening - those for 18+ and those for everyone
