Thanks for the video, I'm loving the advises. Hopefully I'll get good enough to start playing at gigs but I feel as a beginner there is quite a challenging entry level. I'll get there eventually !

I think the most challenging topic is how to build the vocabulary to feel free when improvising. I feel that I successfully utilize many licks I learned in different orders and variations, but still, it feels... too random. Like I don't have a strong basis to build my playing on. Looks like we need some kind of organized approach and plan on how to build it. Don't know how to solve that at all... Looks like it's not completely solvable without a good mentor.
This makes a lot of sense!! I also too sometimes feel like this!! I've had the pleasure of playing with some really quality players and the flow they have is insane! I think to make it flow and free you need to have really good visualization of the fret board to know what notes you have available around the licks you're playing so you can improvise around the licks as good as actually playing the licks. Also, I think it also just takes time. the best players I know have about an extra 10 years of gypsy jazz playing on me. Enjoy the journey! :)
