the tip about using smaller water bowls higher up in the enclosure instead of on the bottom is really helpful !! i have one at the bottom as well, but it‘s mostly for humidity
The 4x2x4 is my dream enclosure for my california kingsnake! Long/slender bodied colubrids really like climbing too so tall enclosures give a great ratio of substrate:climbing space for semi arboreal animals.
Thank you for the tips! I recently bought a massive vertical for viv,and I'm looking to get a species of aboreal gecko (crested gecko/day gecko/gargoyle).This is a really helpful video.
I haven't had any arboreal animals since I had a couple geckos as a teenager. That was like 20 years ago. I really want another gecko or chameleon. My real love would be a green tree python but the wife is not on board lol. Thanks for the info. I think the first step is to get an enclosure and start planning/planting. All your animals look awesome, and the chameleons are really intriguing. Thanks!
Hey! I appreciate your videos, and I’m always researching arboreal species. My family wants a panther chameleon, and I have have always adored green tree pythons. As I’ve been researching arboreal reptiles, You noted an important topic is patience. The other tips seem to be expressed regularly, but “patience” when handling isn’t expressed enough. Thanks for another great vid!
Heya,I wouldn't recommend a panther chameleon, especially if this will be your first reptile. Chameleons are actually quite challenging to keep. And a lot of their care tips are out dated. I really wouldn't recommend getting any chameleon if you have never kept a reptile before. I currently keep 2 reptiles and 100+ bugs and I dont feel experienced enough to keep them. feel something like a giant day gecko might be better!
Awesome I was just recently researching the difference between an emerald tree boa and a green tree python because I heard they had different personalities
how do you manage heating in an enclosure as big as a 4x2x4 or bigger?? especially with most animals that would go in there being tropical, they've gotta have high heats, surely?
wow what a informative video 💚🐍.Metamora enclosure is a part of the Amazon love it will you be adding a emerald tree boa ?..love arboreal reptiles 🐍💚🪴🦎🐸🦋🐍
I really enjoy your content. Question: What kind of lights do you use for your Green Tree Python? I have an LED light system and I even when I use the blue (LED) light, I think it bothers my snake. Too bright maybe?
I have two jungle carpets with 2x4x3 PVC enclosures from Toad Ranch. These are my first snakes, so not entirely sure of what would look good in the setup. I do know that humidity should be between 40%-60%. Do you do custom build-outs, or is that something you would be interested in helping me with?
I've seen my Gargoyle Gecko drinking from a ceramic water dish on the ground. I think it's because they're classified as semi-arboreal geckos. I do not know the answer to this question. I am just reporting the behavior that I've seen from my interactions with my gecko.
