I tried to keep it private my just telling my friends, but i was wearing these cat ears, and people started asking me if i was a furry, i didnt know how to respond i just said, "i dont know" Then my friend was like, She is a furry. And i was like sthu ;-;

Well, I am young, 5 years under the considered young furry age, I made a muzzle, jaw, and cheeks from foam, make sure it’s bigger than you’re head size, so you can keep it for longer, same with the skull dog heads! :3

@@flamingo3519 Hello! I'm kinda Christian but very much casually (my Dad is more into Christianity than me). Personally, Christian matters never got in the way of the fandom for me, and I'm not sure why it would for you, but there could be more I'm not seeing based on your situation. The calm majority of the fandom is quite friendly and accepting, and if you stick by the right people, you can find friends or at least have healthy online conversation. The internet can still be dangerous at that age (or at any age, IMO), but as long as you're careful, you should be okay. If this is something you really want, I think you should be okay to join the fandom. Out of curiosity, what would be stopping you?

@@flamingo3519 Ah, gotcha. Personally, what I did is just partake in watching videos and learning about animals and the fandom anyway and eventually chose a fursona species for myself. I told my Mom I'm a furry a few years ago, but never used that term in front of my Dad. As a furry, you don't have to come out or justify your personality to anyone, ya know? It's not quite the same as if it were an LGBTQ+ matter. When I told my Mom, she was more confused than anything. I've been working on a fursuit lately, and I just tell my family it's a costume to avoid confusion from using the word "fursuit", but they can definitely tell it's an animal, LOL. If you really want to tell your family, check with your Mom to see what she thinks of the concept. If she doesn't know what it is, you'll prob be okay telling her. At the end of the day, you'll know if your parents aren't pleased with something, but as long as they accept you for yourself, you should be okay. The only thing I can see them being involved in is if you wanted to buy/make a fursuit of your own or go to a convention, and that's only because at your age, they'd prob have to financially support you in those endeavors. TL, DR (Too Long, Didn't Read): Your Mom and any other family members don't have to know that you're a furry if you choose to be. But if you do want to tell them, use your own discretion. If they're decent people, they won't care what you choose to be as long as you are you and you are happy. Personally, I say trust yourself and the rest will work itself out. 😊 And mood with forgetting your own age, I sometimes forget I'm 21. I sometimes still feel like I'm 15, time just flew by too fast. 🤣😭

I'm a young fur too and you know most people say they're young fur time was cringey and they annoyed some of the older furs. I as a young fur myself when I speak like for example about a trip I had I'm like right ya little bastards then I get straight to the point of what I was saying no "well I wanted to wear this but I also want to wear this" or "I wanted to do this but also this" just plain simple say it NO ifs NO buts just straight direct to the point.

How?i knew when i was 9 and im 10! Yes im that young. Also i was quite interested in being a cat since age 6 so i guess that could kinda count as a sona because my "sona" was called light and she was an (ironically) dark colored cat,she was black with green eyes,kinda like hollyleaf (warrior cats)

Hi! Just wondering HOW you made your first fursuit, you say you were, 12, im 13 and am looking on making a partial suit, or atleast paws, maybe, I am definitely new to the fandom and some suit making tips would be awesome

@@Ur_localW3ird0 I made my first fursuit by watching a single tutorial and getting the cheapest available foam and fabric. However! That’s not how I would suggest making a suit! Definitely watch plenty of tutorials and get a good idea of how suits are made, how to do lining and furring. And honestly, if you want a tip, do not do the taping with duck tape and plastic wrap. I’d suggest masking tape instead, since it’s easier! And please get quality fur, if you don’t, you’ll regret it later. Maybe wait until Christmas/your birthday and ask family for some nice fur! Let me know if you need tips on anything else!

He’s younger than me so he does it all the time. It’s not an uncommon thing. I won’t tell anyone because it’s just my hobby, and drawing furries is something I like to do. I consider myself one because I plan on drawing my own fursona. I’ve always been an animal lover and furries always stood out to me as really cool.

@KdogJackson ok, so sports isn't a hobby then right? Cuz it's just a bunch of kids running around in shorts with a shirt that has a number. Not to mention in almost every sport there is a ball that human beings tackle each other for, kick others, smack others, just racing for a ball, idk just kinda sounds like a game for dogs.

Yes you can still be a furry, Most of the fandom don't have suits and some cannot draw, To be a furry you just say you are one. there is so many hobbies within this hobbie

I was part of the fandom at age 12, and you'll want to know this. Leave. This community is full of horrible people who prey on little kids in the fandom. Happened to me, it'll happen to you. Spend the rest of your childhood doing normal things, and don't fall into this trap of degeneracy
