We have been abusing this machine for the last year, and it's time to tell you what we do and don't like about it.
There may also be some handy considerations in here for your next build!
Enjoy!

Do use a servo driven spindle in on any of your cnc to mill steel. If so can you do a video on them it appreciated thank-you.

Use a ptfe spray lub on your rails to keep them clean and lubricated

Can I have one or get the design?

I guess the Masso is working out good for you I’m trying to decide between Masso and Acorn for my router you got me leaning towards the Masso
@DIVCNC
@DIVCNC Год назад
We do like it a lot, I have no experience with the acorn units, looks like you have to spend for the hardware and software as well, also I don't like the look of their interface (just from what's on their website), but I am sure it's a solid product I know lots of people use them.

Ive had the acorn and while its an excellent product with support for pretty much anything you could want, if i did it again now, id seriously consider the masso over the acorn. just my 2 cents.

I like the looks of the Acorn but I am turned off by all the little upgrades that you have to purchase, having to pay for the silly axis upgrades on the Masso but getting all 3 versions of the software included seems better in the long run.

Hello, can I ask you for a design for a CNC machine that I am very interested in, or can I buy it from you, please reply to me

I'm just curious, did you mill the critical surfaces on the steel plates ? nice design of the cnc
@DIVCNC
@DIVCNC Год назад
Hi Lukas, Thanks! No we did not, we were careful while fabricating then dialed it in with shims. We are modifying the design so we can surface grind the fabricated assemblies going forward.

@@DIVCNCmilling should be ok for the linear rails. You copy the precision of the mill milling the rail seat to your part. Worked well at my last job where we built machines for automated saw mills.

Seems like there is no middle ground for spindles? You either have ultra cheap chinesium of cncdepot? I would love a FM30 ATC but good lord it costs the same as the rest of the build. I am definitely going with the Masso G3, seems like a no brainer for someone new to CNC. I see a lot of folks advising not to put you VFD in your electronic controller but I see at around @11:55 that you do not feel that this is an issue?
@DIVCNC
@DIVCNC Год назад
The FM30 is something I would like to try, I have observed the same thing with spindles, either $500 or $3000. We have our VFD with the power supplies only, I wouldn't put it near the controller itself because I assume the high frequency noise can disrupt the more sensitive electronics.

Still planning on selling these, or kits for these?
@DIVCNC
@DIVCNC Год назад
Yes! We are working on a modified (improved) design that we are going to sell as a kit with all the chassis components, screws, bearings, and covers, all pre-assembled, with options for the control and drive system if the buyer whats us to supply those as well. We were planning on doing a test run of 10 units at a reduced price to get feedback from the buyers before we go further. We should have this ready to go by the end of June 2023. Thanks for your interest!
