This is for marriage green cards, not fiancé visas. The foreign partner is already on US soil, but lives separately from the American citizen. They can check either one’s driver licenses 🪪, even though they could still be living away from each other despite documents showing matching addresses. This is just one example. It is not uncommon for both parties to have a financial agreement and think they can secretly have separate lives while it is all being done. That is why it is being looked into more often now.
Huh? Of course our addresses won't match. I live in a different country, and am trying to immigrate to the USA. I also don't think it's fair to write off couples who are touchy feely. I rely a lot on my husband for physical comfort especially in stressful situations. I would definitely cling to him. Also, long term waits in between engagement or marriage is a Western construct. I don't understand these red flags.

The interview only lasts 20- 30 mins . So it would comical for you to not be able to abstain from touching your husband for such a short. Besides the interview is a serious process, because they are asking you questions. It is not the time nor the venue for extreme PDA ( public display of affection). There is a certain decorum you need to maintain during the interview. Don’t be a 🤡😂😂😂
He’s talking about if you’re over exaggerating. However, it’s a professional situation. You don’t want to be touchy-feely come on now you could do that after.
Funny thing is that in my case, we got married 2 months later, we were laughing and touchy, and we just moved 1 month ago lol. And we got approved, Whenever he saw us answering together and communicating as a couple he said he really liked us and he knows we are good people. We have our own business, live together, have almost everything together. Genuine marriages are easy to spot
Most states don’t send you a new license when you update your address with DMV. They file it internally only til the license is up for renewal, which can be years. This officer needs to rethink how they interview people
You are right, however, a red flag for a different address with a significant other doesn't mean the officer will automatically reject an application, it begins an investigation to see if the person applying is in a bonafide marriage. There are a lot of fake marriages out there.
@@stevenroshni1228 Why would you, though? In California you have to go in person to the DMV for a replacement license, which takes at least half a day. Nobody in their right mind would do that every time they moved.
How can driver’s licenses between the USC and foreign spouse match when most states require USCIS to have done all of their processing before a person can get a driver’s license?! It’s like a waiter asking to see how a chef made your meal without even having brought you the menu then saying, “Aha! Gotcha! You don’t even have a main course, do you?!” while completely missing the irony that it’s them doing a poor job from the outset. 😤😮💨 It’s so frustrating! I can only imagine how you must feel dealing with USCIS every single day.
My assumption is this; when you begin the process of becoming a US citizen, you are initially given a work permit so that you may work during the time that your application is being evaluated since the entire process can take about 3 years. With said work permit, you can then apply to get a DL which would have the address where you would be residing at while in the US. The marriage interview doesn't take place right away, which in theory would give you enough time to get that work permit, apply for a DL, and then have the interview where you'd show the DL.
@@Ermac97 you’re assuming this draconian paperwork processes in a linear fashion. Mine skipped to the interview and approved green card. The EAD/AP never processed. Even after the i485 approved, they still showed as being reviewed for the EAD and a receipt having been sent for the AP. Also meaning that because I applied for an SSN on the I765 that never got approved, that I need to apply to the SSA directly and then go get a real ID when I have both the GC and SSN.
You don’t get a work permit automatically, you have to apply for that as well. It can take up to 9 months to get an approval on it. Also, if someone already lives in to U.S on a visa, they can easily get a DL with the same address. There are States where someone could apply for a DL with a tourist visa. Plus, USCIS and DMV used to let people to get a DL even just with a pending application! They changed this rule last year, so before that, it was possible to have a DL!
@@viivienhorvath8078 I'm not sure who you're responding to? I did apply for work authorization. It did not process after that timeline. The state where I reside also does not allow a person without a social security number (which was part of my EAD/AP application at the time of submission). Unfortunately, there are states that make any movement forward very inconvenient for new immigrants.
Me and my just got visa for her and my step daughter to come to the US. We was at the embassy in Dominican Republic the guy told us they were the number one country for marriage fraud. He asked us how long we’ve been together and we both said 2 years. He looked through my passport saw that I’ve been visiting her every month he ended the interview and said you will be notified within 10 to pick up your visa. BTW Congratulations on your Marriage. So I’m thinking they are more trustworthy of a couple that married there. But through this whole process I’ve learned that EACH AND EVERY CASE IS DIFFERENT.
Where you able to bring your spouse over on a work visa or you had to wait to bring them to the US. My husband is from RD and I have been to see him four times so far. But I’m lost on this whole process
He literally said what a former officer considered red flags. You’re thinking about how you see it and not what the officer reviewing the case looks for..
#1 depends on certain people....bc that is me and my hubby! We are solid... Honestly, we're doing better with our Lil court wedding compared to others who did lil destinations and fancy weddings we heard about
We talked a lot, and spent some time together. He was in his mid 30s and was ready to settle down. For us there was a lot of transparency which required us to be vulnerable. We we very honest- I asked straightforward questions and so did he. He showed consistency and is an awesome man. He truly love me and my family. I get along with my MIL and his siblings. You just have to be decerning, prayerful, and ask a lot of questions. We are going on four years and we love it! Many more years to come!
Most people don’t change their drivers license until it expires, they don’t bother updating the drivers license address just because they moved into their spouse’s house
not true. most states allow you to do this online. USCIS has access to that info and database, but YOU should bring proof. don't leave this up to USCIS because it can delay your approval for months
@@yin81 well as their lawyer or professional advisor, this issue is on the info sheets I pass out to my married to US citizen clients. however most of mine have been in the US for years and have 1 to 5 or more US born children with their spouse so I have not had a problem. apparently having children together is a huge green flag and you don't have to even show dna evidence!
My husband and i had 0 issues getting his green card. We have been together now for 11 years, but at the time we had been together 6 months. We didnt move in together until 2 months after we got married. 😂😂😂
@@RIOSALEXANDRA a year, and we did the app ourselves without an immigration lawyer so we saved thousands. We had a picture album to show our lives together. Pics of our family together, out and about with friends and family, family trips hiking. That sort of thing. He got his green card in about a year. At this point he can go for full citizenship but as of right now is a permanent resident.
How are you going to have the same address if the persons are living in different countries? Driver's license is out! And their is no more Couple Interviews!!!!!
My friends tell me that they get offered so much money to get married and papers in the us. I see that being so common. I meet many people who lives in the us that did that.
@jmdenison That's weird as fuck. But money is money and a lot of people just want papers to live in other countries That's why they do that. It's business not love.
There are people legally skipping line for a marriage green card but it won’t work for most people. The American spouse is using their parents address because the parents live in the middle of nowhere or a town with very few people. The American spouse may or may not be living there. Address isn’t always a problem for spouses but many people wouldn’t want to live in the middle nowhere.
What if the man that you're dating is separated and wa/is married for 17 years and has citizenship and wants to divorce but doesn't kind of really know how would they lose their citizenship? Asking for a friend
Generally, getting a divorce will not automatically make someone lose their U.S. citizenship. However, there are some specific circumstances in which someone could lose their citizenship after getting a divorce Schedule a call by sending text at +1 619-483-4549 and let's discuss 1-1
I understand a green flag which really helps is to have a child together. multiple children are even better. nearly all of my 130 marriage clients have at least one child together.
Not sure how accurate this is my friend just got married after meeting a woman he met in the UK in two months and they always show excessive pda and she just got approved so🤷♂️
I have a question..my mom who is a dual citizen ( American and Philippines )who have been in the Phil.since 2019 and plan to come back in the US this August 2023..is it gonna be a problem coming back to US with the immigration? Does she have to pay some penalty? Thank u
This guy is trouble. It is against the law period. If they decide to punish or send you back , they will. Arrest and in prison is worse: don’t listen to him. He needs to be arrested.
yall don't ever tell folks about conferring nationality? they gotta hear about it from someone that's not a lawyer? common dude. wasting peoples time. you can be a US citizen in about 3 minutes. FOR FREE.

Hello, I have a question. My wife had to leave the US while waiting for her parole document was pending. She got mail stating she has to prove she did not leave the US on a specific date. And to prove she was physically present after she filed 131. She did leave so she can’t prove that she did not leave. However, she can prove she was physically present in the US after filing for the advanced parole visa. What would you suggest ? Is it possible maybe someone can help my wife win this case if her change of status gets denied? Any advice will do. Thank you so much.

That potential employee is A RED FLAG to your law firm. The Driver License itself can be logically explain, especially one of the couples lives or lived on the other State. Over touching or both are over expressive to each other during interview, but if they see couple who are both focus on the interview and no holding hands, they will look at it as suspicious anyway. That’s why I am a firm believer on lawsuit where I everyone can present evidence meticulously, and can articulate events thoroughly.
I walked away from being engaged when I found out not only the guy was here illegally, he was being protected by the priest of my church and I was disgusted by being left in the dark of 3 yrs I wasted getting to know him and didn't know. And not only did I find out he had a visa and went to school in U.S when the one who paid to send him to this country passed away, he didn't feel he was "obligated to go through all the red tape and paper work to get legalized citizenship. Not only that he was in financial debt and didn't finish the college stuff. I found out I would then not only have to pay to sponsor him, but also pay off his education debt, amd I found out he was in U.S and those like him were working under the table under the radar for less pay amd more hours, while disabled and lower class Americans born here were being passed over, getting laid off and not getting jobs because the factory like many unionized ones and retail were in on this and I was appalled and disgusted. And additionally finding out I'd have to not only pay off his student debt, I'd have to handle the financial burden of him working here illegally. I said nope, no way in heck was I going to end up in Poverty and go as one would say into being a pulper, bankrupt, would have to sell so much and more for his bad choices and horrible actions that affect Americans who need a job, and the Priest I was so appuld being kept in the dark I said no, no way I didn't sign up for anyone of this financial burden gave the engagement ring back and walked. I left the church reported what the priest was allowing to the archdiocese and the priests church was black listed for this as it goes against our Orthodox Christian teachings to do this and so the church is now an AOC as its fallen out of standing with this and other issues. Thankfully I dodged a bullet, but many Illegals will prey on who they believe to be weak and desperate disabled women amd want to live with them without strings attached and mooch off them till they get a green card and then they would bail leaving the disabled woman blindsided and debt by such malicious antics. Its unfortunate, but glad I knew before I married the guy, he wasn't even pulling his weight and would complain about this or that and I told him you date me and plan to marry me, my pets and family are part of the deal, and never did I ask for any help with covering anything of my pets. Yet he'd complain to my family members at the restaurant or at a gathering why should he help me with the pets if he gets married and how they are beneath him, and my family would be beneath him and they were disgusted by his antics and his outburst on what I pay for my pets yearly stuff, or what I pay for this or that at home and he was showing a manipulative malicious-narcissitic user control freak side I wouldn't put up with. A special lawyer we went to see just to understand the ramifications of what his actions of being I'm U.S for 25+ yrs working under the radar would have serious consequences, including not being able to get health coverage through him as it would not be alallowed, and he wouldn't be permitted to through me. I was taken aside and warned that this would be to much to financially handle as the burden would put me in a possible homeless situation, so I let them know I appreciated the advice. When he wouldn't even pay the parking fee after my family helped me pay for the meeting with the lawyer I realized with everything else. I was done, I would never do what he did to anyone and disrespect them, their pets and who they are in front of anothers family, I'd never lie or abuse anothers trust nor moochbof them and waste their time, and I wouldn't criticize their short comings and financial situation and then turn around and expect an significant other to pay for something I did, I'd never abuse another for a Visa if I ever moved to another country out of the U.S where I was raised and born. Unfortunately they are getting cunning and will do anything to get a Visa, even trying to manipulate single disabled women to get married to them and it's sick and disturbing how far Illegals will go to ruin the lives of the less fortunate in the U.S, take their jobs amd more, then try to course and push a marriage onto an unsuspecting disabled woman who's just getting by and doesn't need that hefty debt of a burden. And unfortunately when houses of worship protect these people and won't make sure before getting engaged to inform the partner that's America this series and often reason for a break off and not going past dating they won't and it harms the woman or man who was misled that the person in front of you is a good person who may be a good Christian, yet has broken way to many laws and here illegally. I even dated a guy who said he married multiple women to get them citizenship and once they got it then they divorced and she would work over many years to pay him back for misleading the government and church and its criminal behavior, yet he scoufed and thought nothing wrong with his actions and that I would do a 2nd date with the guy.... absolutely not.

I use my parents home address still because I rent property. Most mail is delivered there as well for safety and visiting. Same for my partner with his mother’s address. It would be far in the future for us to have set and same home address.
If I'm going to Vietnam to marry what all the information I need to bring with me? I got a piece of paper from the county state that I'm not marriage. Do I need something else?
Hi Jason! Thanks for this! My question is, will my husband and I need to go to a marriage Green Card interview once my husband is back in the US? Currently, my husband is in Albania waiting for his Visa interview. Also, our driver's license address will match, but my husband's couldn't be renewed along with his work authorization since he wasn't able to adjust his status in US. Will the expired license be an issue?
In general, for a marriage-based green card application, both spouses typically must attend an interview with a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) officer. The interview is an essential part of the process when the applicant is within the United States and adjusting status to a permanent resident. However, if your husband is in Albania and awaiting a visa interview at a U.S. Consulate or Embassy there, this interview would be part of the consular processing for the immigrant visa. Once he enters the U.S. with his immigrant visa and is admitted as a permanent resident, there usually is no additional interview required by USCIS. Regarding the driver's license, having an expired license should not be a direct issue for the green card process itself. However, the officer may ask for proof that you are residing together and managing your affairs jointly. It's generally helpful to have up-to-date identification, but if this is not possible, be prepared to explain the situation and provide other forms of documentation that demonstrate your shared life, such as joint bank statements, utility bills, lease agreements, etc. It’s always best to be as prepared as possible for the interview and to have explanations and documentation ready for any potential discrepancies or issues, like an expired driver's license. From the perspective of couples already in the USA, #2 and #3 are wrong. Many couples are very affectionate, they have great relationships and they may be nervous, it is perfectly normal, just be GENUINE. It is a proven fact that housing is extremely expensive in all states. If a couple cannot figure out their living conditions despite having enough household income, any reasonable officer will understand, just prove it. For couples outside the USA (pursuing K1 Visa for example), showing plenty of affectionate evidence (photos, trips together, the “sharing” of literally anything) is a huge PLUS, not a minus. And don’t worry, they know what genuine couples do, behave, and look just by checking at the sheer amount of data you will give them anyway. Having different addresses is expected, with special emphasis on the foreigner knowing exactly what the address of their love one is in the USA, among other commonalities.
Guys relax he is talking about the couoles who are already living inside the U.S and are adjusting status!. Otherwise if your spouse overseas they know that..
Hi, my daughters are under 21 and Iam green card holder I applied for them all their process got done documentary. The NVC says your case in line waiting for visa interview and their priority data is April 2023 how long longer should I wait for interview date !? Thanks
Hello Mr sapochnick, I spoke to you few years ago for my sister, you said when my sister’s pd become current then you can help me. Her pd is December/20/2016. If you can help me please send me the link to make a zoom meeting with you or something. Thank you
I am us citizen i applied for my wife in July-2023 online it got received and August 2023 they start working (case being actively reviewed by USCIS) please tell me what to do next ?
There's not necessarily anything specific you need to do next besides waiting for updates from USCIS. Here's a breakdown of the typical process: USCIS reviews your I-130 petition. They may request additional evidence or schedule an interview. If approved, they'll send you a notice and forward your case to the National Visa Center (NVC). You can check USCIS processing times for your category to get a general idea of wait times (egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/). You can also use their case status tracker (egov.uscis.gov/) for updates on your specific case.
bro what💀 well since we r muslim of course my husband aint gonna be touchy feely but we did get married pretty quick like in a span of one year after knowing him and lastly of course we gonna have different addresses i live with my parents waiting for his case to get approved so he come and we finally live together so like bro what💀
These red flags make not sense at all. 1) what if its an arranged marriage 2) some people love PDA (different kinds of ppl in the world) 3) how tf will the spouse have a driver's license if they havent even entered the country?
