All your videos are great, judging by all the dealers yards packed with secondhand vans and all the reduced vans on marketplace, your budget will buy you a better , bigger van over the coming months and year.
Your video was so informative. What I liked was what do I need to research. You are correct in creating personal parameters in purchasing a caravan. Thank you very much.
I am South African and want to do this full time, my miss is stressing as you know South Africans want to take everything including the kitchen sink. I really like your videos-t hey are extremely helpful. I like the zone caravan from what I can see so far. I like the floor lay out to have the bed and bathroom in one section and the kitchen and sting area separate-
Hey Lionel, lovely to jear from you and yes I fully understand your wife, we like to be prepared 😂 that sounds d absolutely awesome! Good luck with all your planning and preparations and feel free to reach out with any questions@
We knew about our towing capacity when we ordered our van, so we made sure we kept well within it. What we didn't know about was towball weight. Our van has a ridiculous towball weight for 17'6 single axle off road van, mostly due to both 95L water tanks being in front of the axle. We can never travel with 2 full tanks. Moving one of them is on our list of modifications.
Yes great call out! Wow that would be heavy on the tow ball. Much better if they move one to the back to lighten it. Hope the modifications go well and have abgreat week!
Good video guys, thanks for sharing. We have taken your advice and are hiring a van for trip to Big Red Bash. Can’t wait :-) Dogs at home with house sitters for this trip but can’t wait to take them next time.
Ohbwow that is super exciting! Yes hiring a van is a great way to explore whether it's a lifestyle that works for you! Have an awesome time.e at the bash!
Weights and layouts are important Mr Bob is excited 😊 he got a suggestion on where to go 😅 aluminum sounds better and thanks for doing the research 😀 What to DO with the POO 💩 , i think composting it 🤔 Awesome content and thanks for sharing 👍 Greetings from south africa 🇿🇦
😂😂😂 love the what to do with the ..... yes we would also like to try composte! Nowagldays any kighter in terms of materials is a plus on a caravan! Mr Bob was VERY excited! He gets like this a couple of times a day 😂 hope you are well and safe in sunny SA!
Some great information there. Thank you for sharing. Our van is due in early September. Can't wait to hit the road, though not full time as yet. Got to keep working to pay for the van! Give Bob a belly rub for us, he is a great character.
Thanks Paul! That is super exciting! Sept is around the corner! Part time is better than no time! Good luck with all the preparations and planning. Oi Bob does love a good belly rub 😂😂😂

informative guys! what power system do you run & how much lithium do you have? we've gone with the Sara & Keelan set up but only 480ah lithium & 800w solar xxxx
Hi thanks so much fir the feedback! Yes Bobby sheds but not terribly ..sand more of an issue for us as he is constantly rolling around in it and them jumping in the van 😂
Thanks for doing this video guys. Plenty of great ideas and recommendations. Just wondering if you were to start from scratch would you pick the van first and then get the tow vehicle to suit it or go the other way around. My thought is to get the van first especially as we’re looking to travel long term in it. Be interested in your thoughts.
Good question and you could do either. It so tricky nowadays woth the wait times to try and coordinate it 😊 Deryck reasons he would build the van first, get the final weights and then buy the car to suit. That's if you don't have a vehicle preference and your budget allows! Would need a suitable car to tow it from the dealership on handover though!
@@suelandolt6840cheers for that. I think it’ll be the Minister of War and Finance who settles on what the van is like. Then I get to sort the car out.
Hey guys great video. We have just made the decision to sell up and get a van so we can stop paying the bank and gain a life !! We have been looking for a van but are so overwhelmed at the choice available. Will be doing the Gibb etc so need an off roader but can't find any info about recommdation for max size of van to take off road. We have 2 very large fur babies and are looking at 23ft approx. Would this be too big?
Hey Marie, congratulations! What a great decision and exciting times ahead. We have 3 friend who have 23 ft vans and they all tow offroad woth them. Friends of ours did Cape York in a 23 ft van. It comes down to how confident amd comfortable you are towing it. Some spots may be a little tight but all our friends always find great spots. I would towing a 23ft if you can to see if you are comfortable. If you are it offers great space. You could do it in a smaller van, if the pups are a good size I would recommend 21ft upwards but it's all personal choice and I amnsure there are travellers out there with 2 dogs in a 15ft!
Great, thanks so much for your reply. By boys are both over 50kg so I'm glad a 23ft van is going to be ok. Happy travels and keep up the good work guys. Loving the content 😊
Great work guys , thinking of travelling around Australia , just curious how do finance all of your travels around Australia ? how much is the costs with your set up car and Van ? are you Australian resident or on tourist Visas as we noticed your South African accents living the dream !
Hey guys thanks for reaching out! I work fulltime, I jave a fully remote job which is the only reason we can travel. We wouldn't be able to afford it otherwise we have abgairly expensive set up now but started with a 70k setup and it did the job!we are permanent residents so have been here for a good few years but will never lose the accents 😂
There's nothing wrong with wood frame caravan, I say to people, keep an eye out on all your plumbing etc, wood will only rot if you have a leak and don't fix it. because you spent $100,000 + on a van doesn't mean it wont leak.
Bob is a bit manic on this one looks like he needed a good run on a beach to burn off some energy! I think the best advice you gave was to hire a van if you’re new to it to see if it will work for your needs. Also to try to test out a model you have in mind by hiring one is really good advice.
