i like how you admitted that you left one of the hood straps undone..goes to show all of us..that anybody can forget..or make a mistake..and never take anything for granted..you are a great teacher..mentor..driver..but most of all..a fantastic human,,
I appreciate you man with all videos I stayed up all nite actually broke daylight watching your videos hope when I pass my test hope to have a hard teacher like you
+jmtckr Wow, I am going to have to try that I had never thought about it but then again how do you do it if the clip is already setup one way? I'm going to check it out next time I switch out my blades I'm going to look at the clip. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
Enjoy your videos, but I can still see pain and heartache over Rodney. Keep on keepin on friend, you've got a big audience out here the appreciates you, welcomes you into our world daily, and is thinking of you during this time. Again, thanks for the great videos; as someone wanting to venture into trucking after my 'retirement' from the police dept in 15months, I truly appreciate your channel.
+RD Rich Wow man I cant thank you enough for the kind words and yes you are right about the pain but I'm trying to stay strong. He may not be here but I will never forget him. Yes come on out here you can do it and like Rodney would say "Age is just a number brother" Thank you for watching and be safe out there 😊👍💯
I live in NY and we get some serious cold - (30f) sometimes not to mention the snow and these tips are essential for all diesel owners that may venture up here. Good coolant is a must. I flush my coolant system up here regularly (every 2 summers at minimum) to make sure the engine is protected sufficiently for those extreme low temps. I've seen too many cracked blocks/heads up here. (use only coolant recommended by your diesel engine manufacturer.) *take no chances* Keep up the great work Junior you're the best bro! 👍
I agree. And if you are driving an older 60 Series Detroit engine you need to be using a fuel treatment with this type of anti-gel (water disbursing) properties. That's because a 60 Series has two issues: it's a soot factory, and it returns that soot right back into fuel tanks. Also, it heavily accumulates water in fuel system more so than the DD15 Detriot Cascadias.Yes sirree!
Good tip Junior...im from Boston and know a thing or two about not treating the diesel..haha..nothing like heading out on a freezing moroning and ten mins down the road you go into limp mode, if it started at all...ive been working on an insulated sleeve to cover fuel filters for a nudge more protection..
+NoPayments Yes I can only imagine. I personally have not gone through that but I can only imagine. That sounds interesting an insulated sleeve to cover fuel filters...hmmm Nice! Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
good tips junior. always be cautious. when you think you have it all, it's when in most cases you are missing something. *1 hombre precavido, vale por 2*
+whiteboyjimmy20 I will try being that I have left the north and am heading south. I don't think I will get up north until next year because I will be doing home time for a few days next week. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
I just upgraded from being trained to go solo but being that it's been snowing all over the states to start now I declined to drive . Some people called me smart some called me chicken so maybe a smart chicken
+Russell The Rawman you call it what you want let them call it what they want at the end of the day you are looking out for your safety and you are wanting to go home at the end of your shift. You are the captain of the ship and there is no load to hot that it has to cool off in the ditch if you know what I mean. You are a smart man keep doing what you do stay strong and be safe and stay warm. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
Russell The Rawman smart move b/c you went with your gut feeling. Safety first. I have 3 years plus and I know that most companies won't have your back if something goes wrong.
+s sepulveda if the winter conditions stay the same I do it every time I fuel that is correct. You are absolutely right that is another important thing that you have to do is drain your air tanks. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
Yeah bro .. I go to New York sometimes to visit Family ... I live in Cali .. so when I'm in NY I still like to wear shorts... like you said .. when I'm in the cold I don't go out much ... but people do look at me funny when they see me in those cold days wearing shorts... but I'm cool ... thanx for the great Videos my Brother .. you inspire all of us who want to start driving .. que viva Honduras Hermano ... I have some nephew and nieces that are Half Hondureños and half Guate .. I'm for. GUATEMALA ... Take care and be safe out there bro .
Always wonder how you guys cope when in the icy weather but guess you have to follow procedure and do what you have to do to get the work done, be safe..
How about Tire Pressure in Winter Snowy conditions and do you carry Snow Chains Junior...........I Miss Rodney, made me think about sitting too long as i'm 62. Keep the Shiny side up!.
+Stephen Clifton Yes the tire pressure I don't worry to much until I get into Floeida then I check to make sure I am good as far as the pressure goes. I do carry chains year round and as someone else mentioned always drain your tanks specially in the winter 👍👍
I started driving back in October last year. I watched your video on trip planning. I wanted to let you know that I started using that method. It makes it so much easier. We use trip sheets at Transport America but I utilized this method as well. Thanks
what's up brother.. what part of the country are you in?.. weather is pretty bad in New york.. I got stuck in traffic in Indiana couple days ago.. it's bad be safe brotha..
+JoeYadira Escobedo I am in Georgia right now and the weather is very very sunny it's 43 degrees but it's still sunny. Oh wow that is crazy I believe Willdotholla is in New York as we speak off of 90. RU-vid be safe and maintain your distance between you and the car in front. 👍👍
So you put 1/3rd on the driver side a third on the passenger's side and the last third in the reefer? That lasts until you fuel up again then you do the same thing?
Can a driver choose not to drive if there is snow? Or can you choose destinations with no snow? Im Wanting to get into trucking but am a bit hesitant to drive in snow. Where i live it doesnt snow so i dont have experience at all driving in snow
Hey Junior would you recommend new people getting into trucking start this time of year or wait until spring? I was going to start filling out apps after new years but im kinda thinking i should wait until spring. Learning to drive these trucks in the extreme weather snow, ice, black ice, high winds etc not sure it's good to jump right into that.
SkilledEddie would you rather drive in the snow with a trainer helping you or by yourself? ;) i would recommend starting with a trainer during winter time.
+SkilledEddie if you ask me this is the best time to do it because you are going to do the winter driving with a trainer and not by yourself. The trainer's should be able to make things go smoothly for you through this winter and the process of training as well. Go ahead and get it done while you can and trust me next year you are going to be good when you are on your own and you are going to look back and say good thing I did it during the winter. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
Hey junior hope everything is going smooth for ya. I'm be finishing my 12 week CDL school with I come out with tankers doubles and triples and hazmat. Feel free to share any experience with me. I know you handle your business right so I would love you advice. 🙏
I recently got my cdl physical and in the process of getting my cdl permit then I'll be off to a mega carrier school ,but I am trying to put it off til after winter . do you think I should just go ?
+Get Out And Explore if you put it out to Winter you are doing good because you will get winter experience driving with trainer instead of by yourself. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
I respect you and everything but really. You gotta be the guy to pull up at the pump then do all your stuff. Come on guy, lol. You didn't take too long so i won't be too hard on you. I've had one guy fuel up. Pull up, go inside and eat dinner or whatever, his truck sat there for an hour, i had to back up ever so carefully and go into the next pump. I was gone before he came back but from what i heard on the cb, he had about 45 dirty notes under his wiper blade.
This is YOUR call......if you have ANY doubts then don't. If your dispatcher tells you that you have to.....then DON'T anyway. Remember it's your life on the line, not theirs, and the life of others in 4 wheelers too. Also remember that whatever the freight is in the box CAN WAIT. It's not like there are people dying and the medicine is in your box. Live to drive another day.
irrelevant but what do you think about having lasik eye surgery to be able to pass the vision test?? (left eye been driving cars like this im 21 simce i was 18
+Michael Guzman it wouldn't hurt because if you cant really see you don't want to put your or any else's life at risk because you don't want to wear glasses. The other option is to get glasses. Do whatever it takes to be safe on the road. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
+Junior Honduras. They told me i couldnt correct my left eye so there was no point in getting glasses but i was looking into the federal exemption and im hoping that would help
+Andres Madera yes they do I believe the only two places they do not hire from is Las Vegas Nevada and Miami Florida. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
I know this post is four months old, but I just wanted to double (even triple) check that Prime hires out of Oklahoma, and if so what is the nearest terminal that I would report to?
15gal? That's NOTHING in a truck. I took 40ltrs to go 35K, and ran out AGAIN, 60FEET from the pump. 100gal reserve is reasonable; in winter TRIPLE it if possible. Over half at all times. eYikes .. .15gal.. .nope.
Ya forgot to say : do not drink coffee & put fuel additive in. Just in case ya drink from the anti jell plastic jug. One trucker put some in his side cab storage & some guy stole them. 2-3 bottles. Boo!!!
+Mycouponman I personally do not like it. I like the one that comes in a smaller bottle that I believe is the concentrated kind and you have to put it on there yourself on the windshield. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
Junior Honduras thank u junior! Iv been studying the cdl DMV book and watchinf your videos. Hope u can make a video outside and Inside inspection test with your current student. Thank u !
+Bryan Caballero ohh wow. Yeah a lot of companies you have to be 21. Hopefully you find something for the meantime. Thank you and thanks for watching 👍
