Hello GMAT Club!! what is the eligibility for EMBA? could u share some more details on this

Sure! EMBA programs in the US are generally modeled and designed for mid-level executives (e.g. Director/VP level) trying to to break into the C-suite. When they started out, these programs were for sponsored candidates (company pays). Classes are on weekends and meet once or twice a month. There is a mis-conception that EMBA is better than a Full Time MBA. That's not the case. These are not different programs and it is hard to compare them. If someone is looking to change industries, Full time MBA is much better. There is a spectrum of programs (high-ranking and low-ranking) but for the top 10 EMBA programs, you are probably looking at 10+ years of work experience (average age tends to be around 37), career progression, and potential for advancement. What does this mean? It means if you are an Engineer who worked for the last 10 years in the same job, it will be hard to get in without explaining why no promotions happened. Similarly, you need to explain where you want to go. EMBA admissions teams are very friendly, in part because the EMBA programs are for profit, and it is a business service (though they have requirements) so instead of a highly competitive application process, this is more like a club membership (with requirements) and as the result EMBA admissions teams are very open about it and will be upfront if they think you do not meet requirements. Many of them will do one-on-one calls and answer questions (in contrast to the FT Program). Hope this helps! -BB
