September is Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month. As many as one in 50 people have an unruptured brain aneurysm and detection is difficult before a person has symptoms or worse yet a catastrophic rupture.
I'm so happy to hear this story this morning. My mother had aneurysm that burst in her early 40's. I never shall forget. I was lying in the bed taling with her and my father I noticed the blood and started screaming. My mom was so common she had a high tolerance for pain. The only way people knew she had brain aneurysm was the on right side of head. She lived to be 74, she had bad heart, very petite in size. Cardiovascular disease was genetic on my mom side of the family. She had 9 sibling and they all had heart issues, 6 of them had had heart attacks in their 40's. Only two are living both are in their 80's. One of her physicians is the head of the cardiologist department at HFH. My mom need a new heart but refused to be put on list. The physician gave my the best last year of her life. Thanks again for this story.
