Quick tip: there is an in-engine function to automatically destroy particles once they've finished playing! There should be a dropdown menu labeled "Stop Action," which you can set to "Destroy" to destroy the particle system once it's finished. Thanks so much for the advice! This video makes my eyeballs and brain happy.
@@LycheeGameLabs It does destroy the entire object, so I'm like fairly certain it destroys children by proxy. I can't check right this second but I'd bet, like, a dollar on it at least.
That effect has 3 systems. There's a sphere emitter of sparkles in the middle. Another sphere emitter of rays around it (with a thin edge radius) and a small emitter in the middle that creates a soft, dark "shadow" particle. This shadow makes the other effects pop. Use the sorting order property to make sure the shadow is behind the other systems. Hope that helps!
