Nicole Friesen A motion trace is when an animator mimicks a motion onto a model! I do MMD, so I use a computer program and a video to cast a motion to a model. I can find an example real quick

Not sure about the "intuitive" part... But it's certainly "INTERPRETIVE". Nice, free flowing dance to one of my faves from Celtic Woman, (& Oonagh).
