Thanks for the video . There was a time when I would hike for hrs. just to fish a spot like that for native brook trout . Got the big C. about 4 yrs ago , now I'm lucky to swing a metal detector in the town park . And yes I'm envious , keep making these videos I love watching them . Thanks again !

Gary, I watch a ton of videos about finding gold and I'm a newbie to it down here in Arizona. You're videos are so very well put together and informative. The time you put into teaching on your videos is simply outstanding. I love that there's no fluff or hoopla, simply straight forward knowledge and teaching. I just subscribed to your channel. I've been finding flood gold in the washes but it is a ton of work vacuuming and cleaning the bedrock. I'm ready to start hunting for something larger and this video is awesome information. Thank you for what you do, I'm a fan.

I’m gonna have to start hitting the big gold too!! I never thought I’d be tired of flood gold but after seeing those bigger peices you’ve sold me to dig lower :D I like that you showed the heavy dark gravels in your pan. That’s a top knotch tip for people who don’t have the experience to know ... I swear by the ironstone gravels lol. That is for another awesome video to hold me over til I can fly up there and scratch around 🤙

Hey man, what are up to? Something's up, this is the. Second time in a row that you have skipped a weekend. Is everything ok? You didn't break another limb I hope, well hope all is well and you can continue killing it in the gold fields.
@TwoToes
@TwoToes 5 лет назад
Ok, here's the story! I am leaving this weekend (Aug 4) for my annual fishing trip. I get out of the heat every Aug. and head to the ocean for 4 to 6 weeks of fishing. Where I stay has wifi, but just barely. I have to have enough videos done and loaded to youtube for the duration. I had several jobs that had to be finished before I could go, this didn't give me much time to prospect. I only have enough videos done to post every other week. I hope to remedy that when I get back home. When I get home the rivers will be at there lowest and I plan to take full advantage of it. Just a side note, I have the first 3 videos of the prospecting 101 series done, hope to start the series in late Nov.

How do you find out where prospecting is allowed and how do you know if someone has a claim where you want to look
@TwoToes
@TwoToes 5 лет назад
In California prospecting is allowed most everywhere. State parks and such are close to prospecting. I look for gold where it has been found before. I spend a lot of the winter doing research for the coming year. It is the claim holders responsibly to mark there claim. As a prospector, it is your responsibly to learn what the markers look like and to look for them before you start working a area. If you find a marker it is also your responsibility to honor it.

Congrats on the nuggies. Good job! What you did show is that there can be nuggets in canyons and smooth bedrock. The old timers believed gold got crushed and flushed out of canyons and that smooth bedrock was a poor trap. They would have avoided such spots.

On a trip to Alaska, Juneau, up on Gold Creek my plan was about the same as yours. I looked up on high bank shelves that trapped gravel. I found 3 pieces of gold in 10 minutes. I had to pack up and get back to the cruise ship! I had to turn in my pack shovel to the pursers office because they thought it could be used as a weapon. (well, so can a bottle of catchup, I guess). I had some gold to show off at the dinner table. 2005.

The whole RU-vid idea was started by my son Joe. After he got out of the Marines he built a rock crawler, every now and then I put a picture of it in the intro. The original plan was to make a channel that had 4 wheeling and prospecting. The two toe idea came from the fact that a mountain goat can go anywhere, hence the goat and the name two toes. Joe's wife, is in the Air force and got stationed in Omaha, Neb. There are no mountains in Nebraska, so the plan kinda fell apart. I was having fun making the videos so decided to keep going. I kept the Two Toes name, because I like it and who knows, some day I might get a 4 wheeler!

When map dowsing, my cursor got *abruptly stopped* around 39.919389, -121.531406. (I also heard anomalous sounds near me!). 39.823987, -121.542903; That's a 2nd one; If anyone's in the area - I'd check these out, or head over to Flea Valley/Creek; If you're wondering why I'm saying this, well, I'm surprisingly closely related to Noreen Renier. If my hand keeps sweeping the mousepad but my cursor has stopped, that's a convincing dowsing "hit". Sometimes I get a camera icon on my screen. I'm *confident* there's something to find at these GPS Locations.

I never prospected but now that I'm living in my van and in Arizona I might give it a try. I've been hopping around from BLM site to BLN site all across the west out here. I like the metal detector approach but not sure where to go to search. It's the start of the rainy season here in the Phoenix area from what I hear. This is the first rain I've seen since I left Michigan 25 days ago. Saw some flowing gulches on the ride down I17 from Rim Rock. Maybe that rain is washing some gold down the mountains? Not sure about the rules for prospecting or where to look legally, but I'll keep researching. Thanks for the tips. Any advice on a metal detector that will do the job without spending a fortune? Subscribed. And thanks.

Is there somewhere I could go to do some gold detecting? I’ve never gold detected before but I’ve been told that the nox does a fairly decent job in gold bearing areas. I guess first of all, do you think it worth my trouble to bring along the detector? I’ve been coin and relic hunting for over 40 years. Total novice on the gold. I also have a pan and might try to hit a creek while there. Your videos are terrific learning tools and I’ve been watching them all day! Thank you!
