Amazing video once again . 22mins went in a flash . I personally own an interceptor since June 2019 . The stock gave up after 18k and yes I too faced alot of wobbling after 16k .Replaced it to ralco speedblaster (stock size only).Have done around 500kms till date with the new pairs . They are doing absolutely fine without any complaints. The wobble is completely gone . Even if they go till 10k kms their purpose would be done as they came in very cheap compared to other options. So yes.. you can go for ralco speedblaster as per my experience.

@@happinessperkm yeah!! P vs H rated👍 I noticed this a while back. Installed them when I didn't know a lot about tyres. Now that I know, considering how I ride I really need some H rated tyres. Need to look for other options or 17" rims. You can try stock rear tyres from meteor!! It's a plug and play fit. Costs around 6k. But the thing is they are ALLOYS :(

My father works at RE as a Vehicle Dynamics engineer. It's a known secret at his workplace that RE already has machined alloys ready for launch and mass production(For INT/GT). They are not releasing them simply because there isn't a tubeless tyre reliably available in the market. CEAT is working right now on the tubeless version of ZOOM CRUZ F(ZOOM CRUZ F is the stock tyre now but only tubed variety available).. Hope it launches soon... That's why I went for the DUKE 390 from my fathers advice. He explicitly told me "Don't buy the INT otherwise you might face a lot of tyre availability issues".

In the U.S., use a Bridgestone "Spitfire" 11F (S11F) 110/90 × 18 on the front to correct speedo/odo error and on the rear use a Bridgestone "Battlax" 140/70 × 18. Easier to get on the centerstand with these tires.

You're absolutely right sir! The RE twins are amazing motorcycles but the tyre issue is a huge let down. First the tubed tyres & then the tyre availability. They should have put 17 inch 150 section tyres or gone with a spoked tubeless rims. This whole tyre matter really repels me from this awesome motorcycle. Tyres are really important specially in such motorcycles.

@alderinerush
@alderinerush 3 года назад
@@bzz8487 Hi Atul, I took the bike on around 10km dirt trail one time with dry soil. The tyres performed well. Only issue I had was that ABS is too sensitive and it was kicking in earlier than my liking. Heavy bike and thin tyres could be the culprit. But if you squeeze brake smoothly on dirt then it's good. On the mountains, you might experience slushy road and that should be challenging for sure. Just be aware of the terrain and ride smoothly like a typical bullet on the hills, enjoying the sound of twin.

Hi did another 350 kms, no problems on the tarmac with the CEAT. However, while riding continuously on the new reflector coated divider dashed lines, that’s between the riding lanes, it does wobble. Mind you there are no reflector bumps. You can ask me why I drive sometimes on the line between the lanes, because sometimes there are two idiots going slow at the same speed on the two lanes and you have to go in bw to overtake.

Funny reading all the comments regarding tyres making the bike wobble. ITS NOT the tyres. The front forks are under sprung. I swapped the springs for a 10% stiffer set and fitted some preload adjusters. With the static sag set correctly at 20mm the wobble disappears and the bike tracks beautifully at all speeds.

@markos1963 3 года назад
@@happinessperkm yes Hitchcock’s springs and adjusters. I have also fitted Hagon rear shocks. Important to set the right sag for each rider as a 60kg rider is going to need less preload than a 100kg one. Get that right and that vagueness at high speed goes. My bike is rock solid up to 113mph even on worn tyres.

Hey, just a bit of information - 20 days ago, a friend of mine took delivery of his Interceptor at Bangalore - the entire lot of bikes that had come had Ceat tyres as OE fitment. I am told, due to the ban of tyre imports (tyre companies in India, instead of upping their game have chosen the easier route to convince the government to ban the import of tyres) - only those are available, are those which are not manufactured in India

The primary reason for stock tyres wearing out so quickly on twins is that, the one being supplied with bike has lesser tread depth than the one available in aftermarket. The after market ones of the same make have more tread depth than the one suppled with bike. Its just a corporate way of making things feel premium using cheaper variant.
@TravelwithAnurag09

I don't think so.. There is a video on RU-vid (channel name Stuart Filinghan) where he explains that tread depth are same as that supplied on the Bonnevilles.. it's just that country of origin is different as internal construction of the tyre is different from the ones that come with Bonnevilles..:)

Reality is that RE built a 650 cc bike for under 4 lakhs. No other company can do that. Basically you just bought a engine and frame everything else they cut the corners . It's Indian mentality sell cheap don't sell quality. To get 650 plus cc in any other company you will have to spend 5 to 6 lakh onwards . What they should have done was that add another 1 lakh to the cost of bike and make sure sell the perfection. But then their sale would be lot less .

I feel like ceat is just not enough, works fine for city rides and the story ends there. I entered the wrong lane on a toll during my journey and as soon as I applied breaks, the front tyre slipped. It has since happened thrice(not in the particular journey tho). I'm 70kgs and wasn't having luggage. Ceat would be good option, but there should be more options in other brand like MRF, MICHELIN, ETC. As Interceptor & GT650 are sold in large number around india and world wide.

Don't know if you can obtain them in India but the Avon Roadrider 2 is a fantastic tyre.. Avons have always been great in the UK. Stock Pirellis were ok, didn't last long, and not so good in the wet in my opinion. The Price in Europe for the Avons beats most of the other credible tyres with a good reputation Bridgestone, Michelin.........

Hello sir, A fellow gt650 rider here. First of all, I must mention that this is going to be a timeless classic video till the time RE comes up with alloy wheels or some Indian brand decides to step up their game, now that we have so many twins on the indian roads. That being said, I am in a really big dilemma regarding what tyre setup to chose? I mean I got the ceat zoom cruz f as standard stock ones on my gt 650 and after 11k kms and a planned ladakh trip, Im now on a continuous hunt for new tyres. So sir, what would you suggest now after almost a year of making this video?? Further, some of the fellow riders have switched the back rim with meteor ones as they are plug and play R17 sizes and the front ones with dominar or mojo R17 front alloys, although with a bit of modification. Any thoughts on this setup sir?

Hi. Tyre options are still limited. 17” rims from the meteor on the rear seems to work well.

I have Continental GT 650 MISTER CLEAN with CEAT TYRE those are good for city ride only... infact on little wet road it has tendency to slide.. and cornering is a big no with this tyre. Another thing is, They switch to cheaper tyre and increase the price.. and documents show it comes with Pirelli ,RE didn't even update their selling information. so much disappointed with RE. After waiting about 8 months for my bike.. what I get is not satisfying.

Sorry but options of tires are wide and varied. Problem is cost and you don’t spend the money. Why did you buy a RE 650 and not a Triumph Bonni? Re is half the price here in Australia and the Triumph is not twice the bike unless your trying to race! Get a better buy price on the stock tires my friend and save yourself all the drama and cost. Dunlop’s front and Bridgestone rear work without any problems for me and cheaper than stock tires.

@happinessperkm 3 года назад
Hey Sunny congratulations on your interceptor. It’s an amazing bike. 1) P & H refer to the speed rating of the tyre - max speed that the tyre is rated till. It’s not advisable to ride it beyond that speed. 2) Yes keep rpm under 4000 and be gentle. Full ride in guide in owners manual 3) Your bike is new give it time to open up and settle in. Till 2000 km go easy (full guide in owners manual. After your first service (500 km) you will notice a marked better rhythm in the bike. Many argue that modern engines don’t need running in. We believe that trust the manual and run in as per that. It helps.
