The Christopher Ward Twelve, the Tissot PRX and the Citizen Tsuyosa all occupy slightly different price points, however they all fill the same niche in a collection. Intergrated bracelet, accessible, steel sports watches. In this video we put them head-to-head to find out how they compare.

I'm drawn to the Citizen. I don't want a delicate watch. I want a solid, no-nonsense watch, everyday watch, for work.

Citizen def. doesn't wear the biggest, it wears smaller than the PRX. Sold the PRX because it was too big for my wrist, Citizen fits like a charm!

Money no object, probably the titanium Twelve. If it was the steel, it would be a closer call between that and the PRX. I do love the PRX as well though. The Tsuyosa is one hell of a bargain and will be a big summer hit now that it's more widely available. Thanks for the brief, but detailed comparison. I particularly enjoyed the discussion on the measurements/fit and bracelets.

Very Nice. I’d go PRX all the way. While I do like the light blue I’d probably go with a different color because I like standing out from the crowd. I don’t want the same popular color.

I have a six inch wrist and the 40 prx is too big for me. Actually the tsuyoba fits great and I got the yellow one. I this it fits much better than the PRX. The PRX is really flat and hung off the side of my wrist. The tsuyoba doesn't overhang my wrist and actually fits perfectly.

I had a chance to try both Tsuyosa and the PRX side by side. My wrist is on the slimmer side and Tsuyosa definitely fits me better. The PRX's bracelet is higher quality but the fitment of Tsuyosa won me over. Plus, the "tiffany blue" of Tsuyosa looks better in person and got the wife approval factor.

I just bought the gold 40mm PRX and it's a beauty. I love the retro classic look and that it echoes the AP. Why not? I don't wear fakes and it isn't an homage as it is actually based on Tissot's own 1970s design. The integrated bracelet is well-made and very comfortable on the wrist. I prefer the idea of an in-house movement in the Tissot (albeit from Swatch) and the longer power reserve is handy if you alternate your watches. The gold is very warm visually and makes a change from the usual stainless steel and leather or rubber straps on many non-precious metal watches. At the price point, it is considerably less than the CW, making adding to a collection more reasonable.

Personally, it’s less about the $500 difference and more about the fit. I don’t think anyone would doubt that the PRX is simply just less refined than the CW 12 with its larger clunky/chunky look, making it a bit more difficult to wear with those of us who have smaller wrists. Since the CW 12 is on back order anyway, with a little bit of patience once could wait to pick it up pre-owned for $900-$1000, closing that price gap a bit.

Both design, while beautiful, certainly takes inspiration from a number of other luxury sports watches. However, the PRX is the better watch. Older more establish brand, more advance movement with modified barrel housing, thinner main spring, 80 hour reserve, Polymer escapement and fork, Patented Nivachron balance spring, movement made of ARCAP, an alloy of copper, nickel and zinc (at least in part) from similar a material. Giving it antimagnetic properties. It is lower price is more appealing due to the higher brand perception and technology advantages of the movement. I also own a Tissot COSC certified watch and the PRX is very accurate when compared.
@Ae073001
@Ae073001 Год назад
If referring to the CW, because the post didn't specifdnt, but I dont know if I can agree that the PRX is the better watch. I can't even definitively say it has a better movement since the SW300 is COSC certified and runs at 28800 vph. The CW definitively has the more refined case, better finishing, is lighter due to Titanium, the dial has more dimensionality with a wonderful fume coloring. Why again is a PRX a better watch? It may be preferred, especially because of cost, but better?
@kbarnbrook4993

@@Ae073001I have heard from other reviews that the bracelet on the PRX is rather tinny compared with the CW, which feels more refined and luxurious.

Most people who have bought or reviewed both prefer the CW. The pros for it trump the pros you've listed for the PRX. I also sense that you're very biased towards Tissot. A lot of people with lower budgets confuse "better value for money" with a "better product". An affordable Android phone with a great camera may be better value for money than the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, but it isn't an objectively better phone. Anyway, I don't think it's fair to compare the PRX and the CW Twelve due to the price difference

If i had to chose i would go fot the CW, but not because i think that its "better" than PRX in any way, HOWEVER the prx is just overall too chunky. The case and bracelet tapers too little making it look more like a bracelet than an actual watch. Also my subjective opinion is that prx has a wayy too small dial compared to the case making it look more like a toilet seat than a watch. Hopefully next gen prx will get better

The titanium 12 uses an SW300-1 which is COSC certified. The stainless steel "the Twelve" uses an SW200-1 which is not COSC certified. As you should know the specification for COSC certification is -4/+6 seconds per day and definitely not the +/- 12 seconds your own slides show. I find the CW to be overwrought and so I'd go for the dark blue PRX. Sorry Citizen but a cyclops is never a good idea.
@OracleTimeTV
@OracleTimeTV Год назад
Hey Mark, yes you're right. As stated at the beginning of the review, although we have the titanium version we're pretending we have the steel, for a more like-for-like comparison.
@davidkendall1614
@davidkendall1614 11 месяцев назад
I was toying with the idea of the Tsuyosa as a less expensive alternative to the PRX. But the more I thought about it, the more I came to view these integrated bracelet designs as being all about the bracelet. And on that count, the Citizen falls flat whereas the Tissot shines. I just ordered an Ice Blue PRX. I like the Twelve very much. Especially that dial. BUT, it costs twice as much as the PRX and I would have to cough up another $200 or so to pay duty. Just not worth it for me. CW needs local representation…as a really like one of their GMTs.
@matyasd007
@matyasd007 11 месяцев назад
The bracelet and the wearing experience is waay more comfortable than the PRX. The PrX is super chunky and does not sit well on my wrist due to those end links. The bracelet and the clasp is overrated by watch nerds. No micro-adjustments, and terrible to operate that butterfly clasp.
@davidkendall1614
@davidkendall1614 11 месяцев назад
@@matyasd007 I assume you are referencing the Citizen, not the CW? The one that the reviewer refers to as being “more chunky”? The Citizen bracelet can hardly be considered a quality piece. Rattlely, pressed clasp President wannabe. The style and finishing hardly suits the case. Guess I am a watch nerd, because the PRX looked and felt a helluva lot better to me. But whatever you like. However, if the 40mm is too “chunky” for a small man, there is a 35mm option.

PRX is still the king in this "category". The Twelve is overpriced and overdesigned. The mechanism is better than Powermatic and more serviceable, finish might be better, but visually it is almost as convoluted as Seiko Alpinist. And Tsoyosa... it's ok, but I still think that quartz PRX would be much better choice value wise than Citizen with underwhelming finish and very basic automatic mechanism.
