I’ve just found you this very day while fumbling around on CAS. You are mesmerizing and so talented. I Will be watching you as much as possible now! Thank you for sharing. By the way, I was a teacher for 47 years and have finally retired also. Now I’m set to learn from you!
Watching other artists like you is so rewarding! I learn simple and complex techniques - from using a palette knife to evenly spread glue to creating textured paper. Beautiful results! Thank you for sharing! - and I love your accent too 😊
I'm absolutely hooked on this method now! I don't have reinkers but do have acrylic paints which I dotted around in various shades and the paint didn't crack as I was worried they would (I gave them a good spritz before & after). They've come out bright & vibrant and took the gilding wax like a dream. They ran through the cutting machine beautifully so now I have a gorgeous set of embellishments ready for Christmas cards. Thank you so very much Christine, I'm so grateful that everything you show us is doable and elegant :)
It's great to read such a positive comment as this. That you are using what you have and adapting the technique you saw iswonderful. You must be feeling very satisfied! Great stuff! ❤️❤️❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love watching and listening to you. I love that so many of us are retired teachers! It never leaves us I guess❤️. This looks like such a fun background to make❤️❤️❤️
I just found her channel recently and love it but had no idea that there were several retired teachers in her group!! I’m also retired and taught math… It made me feel good to know this!
Thank you so much Christine, I really really enjoyed watching you playing with those prints and dies too. I really really love ❤️ how those tissue paper pieces came out. Stunning and gorgeous too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
I have to add with the others how delightful it was to see you bring back a technique we used a long time ago with the added products if die cutting. The red is marvelous for Christmas. Tim holtz has a new fall set of 3 stains that has in it a red mica stain that is fabulous! (2 sets all with mica) Thank you for having fun with the flowers and sharing it with us all.
@@Chrissieannie there are two sets of 3 out for the fall season and when they’re gone they won’t be making any more of them. The colors are vivid and absolutely gorgeous. The names are holloweenish but nevertheless they are beautiful. Get them! Lol
Love the red mix. Two pieces, one rough and one smooth with the same colours is a great idea for some flowers. I use a lot of flowers in my cards and will certainly give this technique a try. Glad you are feeling a little better. Crafting is therapeutic. 🌷🦋
Thank you so much Christine, I really really enjoyed watching you creating those backgrounds and then die cutting some flower’s too. It’s so fascinating to see how he veins show up so well once you’ve put gilding wax on the top. I can’t wait to see what the card looks like when you’ve done it. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
I love that method, we did it in a textile class years ago, 2001 I think, we used Brusho, and all these years later my Brusho is still good! You can make it look like leather too. Your cards are beautiful, and a speedy recovery to you xxx
Love this technique. I’ve done something similar using my clear versamark ink swiped over the crinkled surface and then sprinkled gold embossing powder and heat embossed.it gives a similar effect. Your cards are great !
Fabulous technique Christine, which I’ve never come across before, so definitely a win win! I hope you are fully recovered from COVID now and fighting fit. I wait in anticipation for your videos as they are just brilliant and you make us feel like we are there with you xx
Love this idea…as I watched you lay down the second paper….I thought it would look great to have added tissue to the mop up sheet….Yay…gonna have to try this
Glad to hear I’m not the only one that can mess around longer than most. I call it “putzing around.” New viewer. Love the calming voice and explanations. Hi from Maryland
I just found you I love your British accent I'm from East if Europe but I leave in USA and love your video so much is so so interesting and very educativ .I'm a beginner on card making Thank you so so much Best to you from VA 🇺🇸
Always get interesting ideas from you....When doing something similar with Brusho crystals i tried carefully blotting it with more tissue paper and the result looked pretty and coordinated.
I’ve only just found you today while fumbling around on CAS. You are very talented, and have made absolutely breathtaking cards.I was mesmerized watching you, and your voice is calming. Thank you for sharing your talent. By the way, I am also a retired teach having taught for forty-seven years. Now I will be learning from you!
This is great. I’m going to give this a go. I don’t have any gilding wax but I’m sure I have something in my Kraft “vault” I can try. Thanks for the video.
You give me some great ideas and I love watching you at work 😊. I think the tissue and ink with the gilding would also make a beautiful piece of art to hang on the wall. If I was to do that, would you recommend using a top coat to seal it in and if so, what would you suggest? Thank you
Thank you, I agree it might look terrific on a wall, I might be inclined to mount it in a shadow box frame so that it would be behind glass and then wouldn't need sealing. Just a thought!
Hi Christine I love watching you and get so much inspiration from you. Could you tell me what die you used on the card with red flowers on the one with lines going in different directions
Hope you’re feeling better, no long term effects of Covid? Loved this……the green was screaming “leaves” at me…in fact I love all of your cards…..my only complaint* being that your videos are never long enough for me! Thank you & keep them coming! *…as in I wish they were longer….not a real complaint….oh dear, sometimes my meaning comes across all wrong, I hope you take this as the compliment it was meant….
This is so fun! I’ve been without a craft room for over a year and a half. But getting it back soon. Can’t wait to try this. On the blue set of cards - what stamp set did the Happy Birthday sentiment come from?
Love this technique!!! I have tried to stop the picture to get the name of the gilding wax and have not been able to see the name on the jar. Please tell me the name of the gilding wax. Thank you.
You could use watercolor paper for your cardstock but it would be a bit of a waste as it is expensive. You couldn't use watercolor paper instead of tissue paper for this technique.
I didn't make a video of the assembly of the thumbnail card, just cut some of these flowers. Is there something particular that you wanted to know about the making of the thumbnail card?
You’re welcome. You’ve changed my mind about CAS cards. The usual are so blah to me. Yours are classy and elegant and use so many differing techniques. Thank U for teaching this ‘old gal’ something new.
