At the time, 3D animation was taking over, so this movie with a mix of 2D and 3D was too little too late. Luckily the video release created enough of a cult following.
@@ibizenco Titan A.E., Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and Treasure Planet are the top 3 most underrated animated movies that came out in the early 2000's. I do hope Titan A.E. gets released on Disney+.
@@eleanorhogan8643 I'm sorry, what I mean to say was: Titan A.E., Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and Treasure Planet are the top 3 most underrated animated movies that came out in the early 2000's. I do hope Titan A.E. gets released on Disney+.
Well, there were a few problems with the movie, most of them were internal around project management and politics. There were a couple of plotholes that also didn't help. However, I too think that this is a cult classic and was ahead of its time when it comes to the tech and sound engineering that was involved. Also, I love mantrins and akrennians.
Yeah. I really dont understand how a masterpiece like this flopped so hard. Is it a marketing or advertising problem? Timing and competition maybe? I loved this.
Scott Cameron It flopped the same way people telling the truth get shadow band on RU-vid... They did not want people knowing the perspective truth, but it is coming out anyway... ⭐️😽💋
AstralDragoon I used to do exact same thing ! Both songs are great and the movie IS entertaining. I think is a shame that due to bad marketing this movie never achieved the amount of success it deserved
Same, this is one of the few movies where I actually watch the entire credits. Good songs that give me strong nostalgia. This movie deserves recognition.
It is sooo difficult to find! I ended up finding the DVD in a pawn shop for $2 so I scooped it up like it was the Queen's crown. To this day I watch it constantly with my daughter and my fiance because it was such an awesome chunk of our past.
I became a huge fan of this band, Texas, just from hearing this song during the movie. I liked it so much I bought one of their albums without knowing who they were at all, and was hooked after that. Great song and band. Not a bad movie either.
+Honorharringtonfan I remember that. Just imagine if this film was live action. Cale and Akima might've ended up doing the horizontal dance to this song. ;-)
Also plays during the end credits. This was the first movie I actually say through the end credits to the very end (way back before marvel teasers) because the music is just so damn good.
I got this movie for Christmas back in 2000. And, I was in a 7th grade. After I watched the whole movie, and I listened to this song at the ending credits. :D
I was working as an Usher in my teens at a Regal Cinemas, and the ONLY redeeming thing from that job was this song. I would sneak into the theater as the movie was ending and listen to this song.
My dad and I went to the theater to see this and we liked it. I loved the music and he found the soundtrack CD on sale at Fred Meyer. I bought the CD on the spot.
james vidal I was working as an Usher at a Regal Cinemas in Vancouver, Washington at the time. Got hooked on the song, and bought the CD shortly afterwards. God, I hated working there. But yeah....memories!
Someone at work recommended this movie so I rented it. It was boring and I fell asleep. But I woke up to this song playing at the end, and I loved it! Downloaded it from Napster. That's been almost 20 years ago, and I still love this song!
great song and great movie. I still have my vhs copy of this movie (and yes, i still have a working vcr) and i watched it again for the first time in who knows how many years and remembered why i love this movie in the first place. Movies like these need to be shared with well...everyone. I hate that this movie is really underrated, it's such a masterpiece.
I'm glad I bought the movie when it came out, Its one of my favorites as a kid and im going to show it to my kids. It has one of the best soundtrack of all time, the movie was amazing!
Titan AE was directed by Don Bluth (and others), who directed the wonderful anime' The Secret of NIMH (1982), which had some very Conscious characters, and the screenplay was written by Joss Whedon (and others), who created the very Conscious Buffy series. The song is about people who remember the renaissance of the 1960s and are holding on in this "cold world" and "empty land" for a rebirth to occur. Like Lovers (Holding on) Lyrics by Texas. From Titan A.E.. Now we've traveled far But are we any nearer There's a feelin' we're reaching for In the fields where it all began Listen, do you hear I thought I heard a promise But that empty feeling grows And I'm scared that I will forget But I I can remember Look around and around There's people still hanging on See, it's me I'm the one Believe in me I've just begun And we'll be here When the lights come on When I all comes down to Me and you Just a boy and girl Trying to change a cold world I don't expect that you'd understand When you look at this empty land But I I can remember Look around and around There's people still hanging on And I I can remember them Be it night or day Like lovers left holding on See, it's me I'm the one Believe in me I've just begun And we'll be here When the lights come on When it all comes down to Me and you And I I can remember Look around and around There's people still hanging on And I I can remember them Be it night or day Like lovers left holding on And I I can remember Look around and around There's people still hanging on And on and on and on and on And on and on and on and on Oh, I remember... ...
SuperNoobsInc yes and no anime was originally just the term used in japan to describe all animation and we adopted it as a term to describe japanese animation. though thinking about it titan ae has the potential to be a good sci-fi series.
it was released 24 years ago, but i agree with all the rest! just awesome experience to get to see it on the big screen with those incredible visuals and this amazing soundtrack!
Heard this song at the ending of some animated space movie when I was 12 or 13 and i had no idea the lyrics but the melody keep stuck in my head, finaly today after 10 years i found this song
@@FargonNemeloc Don't forget Shinkai Makoto. Although he's using CGI in his movies it's mostly for enhancing the scenery (e. g. adding lens flares, using different layers et al). But he is called "The Next Ghibli" for a reason. I really love his movies so far, albeit some / most of them are bittersweet.
I'm 16 and I watched it for the first time today. I wish I had seen it even when I just like five years old so I could say this was part of my early childhood :/ It's an amazing movie
I watched TITAN AE as a kid and I remembered this song, and recognised it was sung by Texas. But it was still very difficult to find the song back then. I think I found it about 10 years ago or more. Thought about it again today
Better late than never. I remember going to see it in theatres and becoming completely enthralled. Definitely a great amongst the piles of crap that fill the screens today.
A few years ago I agree. They are making a return with a few recently. Ready Player One, this Battle Angle movie in February, I just watched the new Predator movie. There is some good new effort out there to put down the gaming every now and then.
Look up Metalhawk, this guy does his own version of My Heart Will Go On. You may like it. Does an Awesome job with the Last of the Mohicans as well. I recommend. Hope you like.
Do you all want a tip to get these rare gems? Buy the cd. Support the producers.. and the bands that made the songs. Rip to computer. Move song. :D I have to do this with some of the finnish bands... but I dont mind playing for a cd. Makes it more worth it to me.
I love this song, it's so annoying that the Titan A.E. is near impossible to find now. The movie suffered badly due to bad marketing ideas and bad taste, even today it would probably do poorly since it's not some no-brainer, bad written, badly considered 'explosions every five seconds' movie for those with no attention spans. It was a good movie, with a very good soundtrack. This song for example is one of those great songs from the movie.
@ReinaHW It's on Netlix. At least in Canada. I actually haven't seen the film before randomly clicking on it in my account last week. I've watched it about 5 times since then.
Jesus.. I wasnt prepared for this. I wanted to hunt down my old soundtrack. I got this CD in highschool with the one that "got away."... been YEARS since Ive seen her.. so why the fuck did this song just put me flat on my ass.....?
