hello friend very good your videos!!!! i have a doubt the control is able to resume the machining? for example if i am working and in the middle of the program a tool breaks or there is a power cut... how do i do to restart my program and not start from the beginning, i can start in the line where the power was cut.
You are correct. The way I handled it is manually adjusting the program if I needed to skip ahead with a new run of the program if a tool break occurred to finish the part. Not perfect but manageable.
you can remove that power cord. its not needed when the rs232 is attached. thats for when you have it hooked up to the pc to load programs in the memory without the usb stick.
Can you please further explain raising to 19200 for better 3d contouring? Is that your baud rate? Does it help the machine process code quicker? Thanks
The 19200 is the baud rate that the DNC and machine communicate at. Faster the better and the only way to do 3d work (although there are limits even at this speed). It will allow commands to be sent faster in drip mode and also reading and writing programs to machine memory.
Thats just the speed of comunication and youll see a difftence when loading to and from the machine the baud rate wont effect machining, we run all programs at 9600 .
It is possible to use external memory in old machines when single program is bigger than machine memory? In such a way that the machine will receive program blocks in real time and execute them?
Externally serial is the only option. If doing complex operations you have to make sure to overrun the serial link. Also I normally turn off block numbers as the om control doesn't like them on large programs from the DNC. Other than that you can externally send programs larger than the machine memory size.
Thanks for the videos! Will the Titan allow the control to use it like a flash card and call macros. I put small programs on the machine memory that call several larger programs from the flash card. will this work the same way or will the larger programs have to be combined into one program and drip feed. Thanks!!
Great video! bought one but having trouble with; 1) not being able to hit "cycle start" after the program drip feeds to start it again. Is there a way or setting to allow this and not having to reset the Titan DNC each time? 2) Is there a setting that you know of to have the DNC read machine specific macro's? When running from machine memory there is no prob but when drip feeding from DNC it freezes up when there is a macro called out in our NC. please help
There is not auto resend have been able find. Have to resend file for each cycle start. What control do you have? That might help point me in right direct on macro exec.
@@ShaneBurrell1 Yes, we just figured that out. Thanks for the help. I would sure like the next model they come out with allow an auto restart so you just have to hit cycle start on the machine.
Is the serial port on the bottom for the db25 rs232 output? My dynapath 20 control has that db25 / ra232 port on the side of the control for drip feed. Just trying to see if i need a cable db9 to db25.
Hi, i got a question about your postprozes i am using a fanuc 10m controller and fusion but i am not able to adjust it that it works fine... coulkd you help me out with the postprozess?
@@ShaneBurrell1 yes, sorry for the late reply…. I haven’t got any notifications.. I have managed to use fusion 360 with the basic pp but well I have to overwrite the first 10 lines by hand. Not so happy about that…
Depends on your control. Do you have a Fanuc OM? If so there are several serial ports. You would really have to dig into your particular machine to retrofit a path for DNC but it's normally possible.
Hi, How should I go about loading programs from the DNC to the FANUC's memory if I don't have an I/O option as shown at 4:19, and I don't have a Tape Option/reader? I have an RS232 port on my machine so it seems possible, but I can't figure it out. Thanks, Brady
@@ShaneBurrell1 Awesome. What did you think? I tried to but don't think I accounted well enough for acceleration/deceleration. Kind of jerked around. Going to look at tolerance settings in the rough profile. Maybe I had to many points.
what series fanuc 0m is your machine and whats its storage capacity? 0m - A, B ,C ord D? Could have a gooddeal on a machine with a fanuc 0m mate, but am afraid i will run into problems drip feeding bigger programs.. thanks
My is a C series and has the max memory. With drip feed it doesn't use the memory at all. The limit there is the speed of the serial (set to max if you a doing 3d work).
@@ShaneBurrell1 thx! in your experience does it slow down a lot when dripfeeding? 9600baud seems to be the max speed of fanuc's 0m series? The machine is a quick BT30 drill/tape type, so speed is interesting to me :I
@@lzus6676 I run mine at 19200. That speed most 3d works just fine. Check to see if you can set the param to 12. That should be 19200 even though most manuals only show 9600.
How do i check if a Fanuc O Mate controller on a old bridgeport 412x can use dripfeed? My controller do have the 25 pin connector on the side. It's doesn't have the knob with the tape mode. And inside the menus it doesn't have anything named tape either.
I am fairly sure there was no tape dnc at the oprator screen... i might have a picture of the operator screen. photos.app.goo.gl/1q4oP2WRAKLrSCkn7 - there is only MDI AUTO EDIT HNDL JOG ZRN ...
@@ShaneBurrell1 i Will try that next time I get to it. It's a Bridgeport 412x I am thinking about buying so I so I can start my own small machine shop. And I would hate to not have dripfeed since I am a big cam user haha.
I haven't seen one without it but it's possible. As long as the serial port is fully connected there are several ways of "enabling" it if it's not. Most likely it is on one of the operator panel screens.
Thank you I have a Hardinge cobra 65 lathe and I'd like some help to get it work I don't know much of a Fonuc 21t controller do you have whatsapp so I can show you some pictures
Looks like a number of people have it running. Note that the default may be 1200 baud and you may have to make sure both sides are transmitting at the same speed and manor.
Shane Burrell ok lol bought and plugged in the dnc lowest baud on the DNC is 9600 i set the anilam controller the same can’t get it working can you list the exact settings you would use for an anilma crusader m controll
