Leo dominated for years but it couldn't have last forever. I still enjoy watching him but he plays so much more scared now. His jumping habit got called out so hard here
Well Ryu/Ken has one of, if not the best, anti airs in the game . It’s not something every character can take advantage of . I don’t think he really took into account how well Ken/Ryu can take advantage of that
You're so right, it feels like he chose the exact same ledge option every time and didn't mix it up. I'm very surprised he had that terrible habit here, idk if he vod reviews but he totally should
Honestly super sloppy by Leo. He missed a lot of conversions, had 2 stock leads in the last 2 games and I'm not sure why he kept trying to rebels guard kens recovery. Good win for Titan though.
Ken is +2 for Joker, Joker has all the tools to run laps around Ken, gimp him offstage with Gun/Counter/Bair-tether tech or Arsen's Bair, while Ken plays the entire game fishing for his win-condition Shoryuken. Congrats on Titan for the W, but an optimal Joker player should at best drop 1 game, not 1 set to Ken.
@@Juriismywife Nah, the general consensus is that it's an even matchup. In theory, Joker does have a lot of stuff to annoy ken, but in practice it's a lot more difficult than it looks.
@@Juriismywife Please show us what an “optimal” Joker looks like, I would absolutely LOVE to see how much better you could do over MkLeo, the GOAT of Ultimate and best Joker player of all time.
@@Valentinesdayghost I think Mkleo typically plays better than he did in this set lol. In fact, several Joker players usually play better than this: Omega, Gorioka and Tsubaki are the big ones obviously.
Damn I cant believe it, watching this from start to finish Leo was almost in total control but somehow lost, I think he got too cocky and overconfident. Anyways good job Titan, well deserved!
Leo is a shadow of his former self man. It's like he forgot how to play and although he took the past year to focus on other things, this is the consequence.
@@Chelmicuskeep in mind they said “any #1 player in smash history”. Other former #1 players like Zero and Armada didn’t have as drastic a fall into top 20 territory this fast. Armada remained a top 2 player for 7 years and a top 5 player for like a decade. Zero was easily a top 5 Brawl player and until he quit was the #1 in smash 4 (even after quit he still won the smash ultimate invitational) Leo being #11 is respectable no doubt but there’s no denying the fall was pretty fast
I can’t believe they allow people in the audience to scream at the top of their lungs like this. Imagine, they would never allow the audience to stand directly behind the athletes in any sports.
Titan played so well against one of the best players in the world. He knew how to deal with the pressure and taking advantage despites of it. Good job for him 🫶
@@Mikendo09there isn't such thing as "luck" in smash (except you play hero I guess). Titan won there because he played better, yes mkleo wasn't in his top form, but nobody care it's his fault. Titan played really well and nothing will change the fact that he won
@@SwanardoOr Game & Watch! Side B exists. But yea, in a game like this, luck is.. hyperspecific. Titan's the GOAT, and that is an incredible win, a mark to a legacy. Don't get me wrong I'm not disagreeing or being pretentious, I'm agreeing with you.❤
@@Psytheslasherleo was winning that last game until he lost stage control, maybe if he hadnt gone off stage with that counter(considering it almost killed him previously)he could have won it
no disrespect to titan, obviously it's not easy to beat a player of leo's caliber at all, though i do genuinely think if this was bo5 the result of the entire TOURNAMENT could've been vastly different. honestly i think all majors should be all bo5, it just makes a better player experience for everyone.
You are 100% right that if it were best of five Leo probably would have won and the last two game probably would not have even been close but still the simple fact that Leo lost in the first place, man he is losing it
you want majors to last an extra 2 days? Think about how much more money that would cost. Think about the audience and players who will get bored waiting for sets to end. This is an awful solution to a non issue lmao, Titan won fair and square.
@@omegalilbchass8270 I would not say it is a non issue. I think most agree a bo5 leads to more consistent results and will usually result in the better player winning. Also plenty of majors have done a full bo5. Maybe it would not work at this event but it has worked before so it is not as crazy as you make it sound.
@@omegalilbchass8270 lmbm did all bo5 literally just last month lmao, there's no reason not to do it other than if a tournament features more games than just ultimate
Leo fans blaming everything, the audience, Bo3 format, Leo's GF, even coping saying Ken is not a +2 MU for Joker... Reality is: this is not Early Ult where he could get away just by having better Neutral, people caught up, his Joker doesn't stand a chance in this meta, he should stop ego-picking the character and focus on sword characters thats where his natural strengths are.
I mostly agree with what you said though I disagree his joker doesn't stand a chance. He should play swordies though, I agree. He truly has dropped off, but he's still my goat. Nothing to blame other than underperforming on his part and not respecting Ken/Titan/etc
It's pretty evident that he doesn't play as often and or grind. You would very rarely see Leo miss uair dragdowns to dsmash and now he misses them quite often. He's also, clearly stated that his family is well taken care of and so that stress on him to be number 1 so he can make money isn't there anymore.
I still don’t understand at this point why people pop off for beating Leo. Dude is not the best anymore lol definitely the goat but no need of a pop off. If you were beating Acola, Spargo, or Sonix then I’d understand.
You're right, it makes no sense why someone would want to pop off for beating a mere top 20 player. There's zero reason for someone to pop off for beating a player like Tea or Dabuz. Absolutely no reason at all
@@PurposeDriven7_ It's not an overreaction to pop off for one of your friends beating a top player at a major, regardless of whether or not they're actually #1 or even in the top 10. If you swapped Leo for Maister, Tea, Dabuz, or anyone else around that level you'd get a similar reaction. God forbid people be happy
