IMO the only reason why Tartarus is worth doing is xp farming. With the level of each monster increasing each cycle you'll eventually grind experience -if you survive that is-. Moreover there's an unlimited supply of mobs. I ended up having some great xp gains. Without Tartarus I wouldn't have grinded from lvl 77 to 81 that's for sure lol. With that said yeah, it's pretty useless in terms of loot I definitely agree! One of THQ Nordic's official asked on the official Discord what they could do to improve Tartarus, so who knows, maybe the devs will patch it in the futur? Anyway great video, +1 like!
Tartarus can be a quicker way to find a Potion of Experience. I went through all of Atlantis multiple times without this potion ever dropping. I started running Tartarus and probably ran it for 2-3 hours beofre one finally dropped from a chest. I immediately put it in my TQVault and duplicated endlessly, so now I always play with a 40% xp pot up. Apparently there is an Epic and Legendary one too, but I haven't tried farming for those yet. The benefit from the potion makes the boring grind to get it wothwhile imo.
They could have made a really cool endgame system with Tartarus but sadly the whole thing just feels half baked. At least the rest of Atlantis is interesting, albeit short.
I totally agree, there's so much potential in this dungeon if they just gave it better loot. Sadly every time I step in Tartarus I feel like I am wasting my time because I know the loot won't be worth it
for me both tartarus and dungeons are pretty pointless, here is why: Tartarus - first of all it is always your level. Which means if Im lvl 70 and go on normal tartarus mode I will face lvl 70 creeps. Secondly mobs; there is randomness in it which means you cannot go there with all debuffs (for electrum) because those mobs will smack you, so its not good for farming electrum either. Tartarus is damn hard, too hard for its level and when you die you lose everything you worked for, so for me as a player I dont see any "push your luck". I managed to go to tartarus with my lvl 70 conqueror, did it twice in a row and all I got was some gold and one green (monster) item which was total random crap even when it said I had like 150% for good item and it was total crap. So you dont farm gold there, you dont farm electrum and tartarus is too strong for his level. No point for me in going there. Same thing goes with dungeons, dungeons provide 0 exp on top of that and there are like shiiiiiit tons of mobs, you cant skip them because they will smack you and you must click objects to open gates. Dungeons are long as hell and same as with tartarus you can either stop it to gain reward or go further to get better. Same as with tartarus in both ways there is no point, too much effort for no rewards at all, annd of course death = you lost x minutes of your life. I rather create new character to play or play the legendary level once more because i get much more of everything. Im so disappointed with those features, I wont enter them like anymore. On top of that you must get those keys that have shit drop % ratio. I killed egypt telkin like 50 times on epic level and got only 3 keys to epic dungeon (2x first key and 1x second key) and 5 keys to normal dungeon. WASTE OF TIME
Skill issue. Chaos dungeons are worth farming because they're short and you can just run through them to the boss which has some ludicrous rewards. (Drops legendary difficulty gear on normal) Like 95% monsters there are magical so just get a ritual necklace with tortured soul that has the less damage from magical + 2 more tortured souls with the same completion bonus on your rings and they'll hit like wet noodles.
It won't be outdated, they are fixing an alleged bug with Tartarus (that I didn't even know existed) -- not making the loot any better or more plentiful.
@@ViolosD2I I googled the changes they are making to Tartarus via the patch notes and the only thing they say they're changing is a bug with clicking on the orb. Apparently if you click it too quickly it doesn't give loot. I've seen no other info about it
you're right, that is probably the sole thing this dungeon would be used for. Since you play Titan Quest all the time over the span of years you probably come here and use this dungeon often. Most normal players though would probably find this a complete waste of time I think (and they do according to google searches). When i found Tartarus I ran it a few times and was confused at how pointless it was which is what lead me to google, "Is tartarus worth doing?" and I read pretty much every forum & reddit post about the dungeon I could find online. Probably a few of yours too! This video is an aggregate of what I learned from that research and my own personal experiences running Tartarus.
If people wanted a challenge too I would recommend xmax a lot more (spawns x4 enemies and x3 bosses -- or x2 enemies and x2 bosses; you can customize). At least then the increase of challenge would actually be worth your time. Tartarus' loot sadly is just so bad that even if you want a challenge I feel uncomfortable recommending someone do this dungeon because time investment vs reward is so low
You are objectively wrong. how you come to that wrong conclusion of this is being a challenge arena and nothing more? If it drop loot it can't be labelled as just a challenge arena. That two not work together well. If you watch the video again the only reason he was talking basically not getting decent reward for the effort you put it. Go and check grim dawn crucible arena. Same idea should work here too.
@@AlmarWinfield you are wrong by saying he is right and i explained on the answer to icefrzzy only wrong point you made in this video might be regular monster not dropping items and it actually better if only they also make sure end orb worth it like in greater rift in diablo 3. You don't need to worry about item drop on greater rift and only focus on killing monsters and your reward gonna be plenty at the end.
@@EnderElohim Farming from this arena is far from effiency, who try to farming in there is just no-brain. Of course this is before they "tweak" the arena recently that make treasure orb of Tartarus can drop M.I gears from other acts with Atlantis affixes which is useful now.
