This reel includes a bunch of the animations that I did for Titanfall 2 during the DLC period. I got to work mostly on character scripted stuff such as the faction leaders and the animations for the coliseum aftermath. I also got a chance to do some titan animation with the Northstar execution which was a blast to work on :)
Posing and staging the characters or scene is the starting point. Here the animator tries to figure out the beats needed to effectively sell the moment. After the animator is happy with the staging/blocking pass we shoot some stuff with motion capture.
MoCap then serves as the base for realistic human animation. From there, hand key animation is added to clean and polish the performance. Some stuff here is completely keyframed. But it's usually a mix.
