Granny’s dad worked at a sigerate factory beside it and would walk past titanic every day she always tells me how he said it was the buggiest ship he’d seen and I find it cool to know my great grandad has seen the titanic my granny was born 4 years after it
No, they didnt enclose the promenade deck right away. If you look closely you can see the titanic was in the right gantry as well as being released from the right one,
When you faced the Titanic she was in the left Gantry when you face them. The Olympic was on the right. When people were facing the Titanic bow she was clearly on the left gantry. The Olympic was already launched . When you look at early photos of Titanic and Olympic being built the Titanic is clearly on the left side..
En el lanzamiento las ventanas de la cubierta b están organizadas y cuando hace su viaje aparecen desordenadas, no sé cuál haya Sido la razón por la cual fueron modificadas
I wonder why the Olympic-class ships were launched without their propellers attached? Normally when a ship is launched the propellors are already attached.
Indeed an interesting question. Either they wanted the ship out of the slipway as soon as possible to get space for a new ship or they had better equipments, tools and logistics at the dry dock - or maybe for both reasons.
No worries. It provided a few moments of levity for the readers..... If you're multi-lingual, you're way ahead of me. English is all I have, but can fake a few phrases in French and swear in a couple other languages.
When a ship is launched it means that the hull is complete. By now the titanic would be practically hollow and so that's why it is seen raised so high above the water. The 'fitting out process' occurs after launch and would probably take another half a year or so. During this time is when the engines, rooms, furniture and everything else would've been added, including the boilers and thus the funnels.
sorry to break it to you but cameras were invented about 100 years prior. there was a camera on titanic maiden voyage carried by a priest (who departed at Cobh). This is titanic, as you can slightly see the nameplate on her side
@@ke707 No, launching is the moment a ship leaves the slipway and is been put on water for the first time. Not much more than her hull was completed. Then Titanic was towed to a dry dock for a 10 months lasting fit out.
This is the olympic launch, titanics starboard side had inclosed part at the start of the promenade deck where the modification cafe parisien was, this part Olympic did not have which is clearly seen on the open promenade deck here from bow to stern.
@@HamsterDans72 RMS - Royal Mail Ships is only applied to ships under contract to the UK Royal Mail, SS - Steam Ships for general cargo ships and HMS - Her/His Majesty's Ship for ships in the service of the Royal Navy.
it dose look like its made of woods but it is made of iron , destiny ? we can see the titanic again in theaters and it is in 3-d , they are celebrating the 100th year after its tragic accident.
@@johnabillz4457 it was the RMS Olympic and was actually launched first but was damaged by a collision with another ship. After it was repaired it ended up the only one of the 3 Olympic class ships that were built, the olympic, titanic, and britannic, that didnt sink and was eventually scrapped for parts after 24 years of service. The white swan hotel in alnwick actually has a small portion of the Olympics grand staircase as a part of one of their staircases.
No white star never did this. There was a story about the titanic being christened with a bottle of champagne but its false. The fake story claims that when the bottle was swung it didnt break when it hit the ship which is supposed to be bad luck.
No, Olympic was painted white when she was launched. Otherwise these ships were practically identical at the time of their launchings. By experience from Olympic, that was completed the same day Titanic was launched, several improvements were done to Titanic before she set sail 10 months later.
Not at the time of her launching. The designation RMS (Royal Mail Ship) was given to ships under contract to the British Royal Mail. Titanic wasn't under that contract before she was completed and transferred to White Star Line.
The Olympic was hull number 400, and was painted white The ship shown in the video is hull number 401, A.K.A Titanic, and she wasn't painted white, she was painted a dark grey.
Mark - Both ships were planned to be identical that they also pretty much were at the times of their launchings - except for their different colors that "TheRedPanda" already explained. They had the same window configuration. But due to experience from Olympic, that was completed he same day Titanic was launched, several modifications (including the windows) were done to Titanic during her 10 months lasting fit out.

Well the White Star Line had not yet been approached by the British mail Company, explaining why at launch, Titanic was only an S.S. This was also the case with the Olympic, Lusitania, and Mauritania, and it was very common for a ship to be an S.S. at launch, and then be made into an R.M.S. And it was only after the White Star Line agreed with the British Mail Company that Titanic got the initials R.M.S. added to her name.
It sank in 1912 there is no denying it the Olympic one the its sister ships went on to service with the Royal Navy in world war one, and it was the only survivor of the Olympic class ships built by white star until she was scrapped. The Olympic was also captained by Edward J. Smith until 1911 during his time as captain there was an incident with the HMS Hawke. The Olympic was in service before Titanic. Before you go and start saying stuff like that do your research and avoid the internet, world weekly news, the onion, and other unreliable sources and read a few books
