A fun fact about the movie. They did record it in very cold water so they could get real screams. They had a hot tub and a hose with warm water so they wouldn’t freeze. Also the water wasn’t deep where they recorded most of the sinking parts.

What a creepy video. As the grand staircase went down 6 decks, I always thought of how SCARY it must've been for passengers to look down the stairwell and see the water below when the ship still seemed stable. Awesome graphic ... creeped me out (especially the A-Deck scene when the lighting was so dim)

Great job. I actually think this is more accurate than other videos. One video I saw suggested that the water wasn't E deck at the bottom of the grand staircase until around 1:50, just 30 minutes before the ship sank. I feel like that would have been too fast since the grand staircase was closer to the front of the ship. This portrayal seems more accurate to me. :) Also I like how you added the effects of the lights turning into a reddish color as the power slowly fails.

There is something you have to understand. Once the first four compartments had completely flooded, the ship started its way down, so all the events that came after the water reached the not watertight parts of the ship must had been pretty fast.

@@lf2916 Except they weren't, because otherwise the ship wouldn't have lasted for 2 hours 40 minutes.

I always find it eerily beautiful how a ship slips under the water - how small variables can change the dynamic of a sinking.

If this was the movie of Jack and Rose, 2:15 is when they arrive (approx. 1:40AM) but because TA sped up this animation, they would appear as fast chipmunks running away from Cal, and Cal's line of "I hope you enjoy your time together" would sound like an angry Alvin (from Alvin & The Chipmunks btw). Rose would have escaped from Lifeboat 2 in that case. Rose and Jack would have also just unlocked the gate in the nick of time when the water starts flooding C-Deck at 2AM.

@KeepCalmContemplateYourChoices
In some shots, it was quite rather hard to see...like when the lights go out on D-deck...
@KeepCalmContemplateYourChoices
But as a whole, very smooth animation, and great representation of what had to go.

there was an outtake in the movie were the staircase got wrenched up in the flooding scene. It supposedly explained why the Grand staircase was just a giant hole in the wreck

1:45am is quite late in the flooding to reach the forward D deck (unless I'm being stupid)... With this in mind, I think she stood rather well. Great animation - there's not many animators that have shown c-a deck flooding. Would love to have seen some furniture floating. R.I.P Titanic.
@tomemeornottomeme1864

I think the sinking slowed significantly once the impact zone had been flooded. The sinking wouldn't speed up again until around the time E Deck submerged and the forecastle began to flood, which was around 1:30-1:50, and water inside the ship is usually a deck or two under the waterline outside.

I don’t understand how EVERY staircase from A Deck downward ALL got destroyed. There’s just larges holes where they used to be in the wreck. How did that happen?
@nicholascamp5974

All the wood got eaten away.
@OneProudBBC
@OneProudBBC 3 года назад
The wood had about 70 years to rot away before discovery, of course the WOODEN grand staircase would have been destroyed or disintegrated before the 1985 discovery.
@theluckyone3212
@theluckyone3212 3 года назад
The grand staircase was made a wood and many people theorize that when the dome broke the wood actually floated up.

How could water have been flowing down from E deck when the water was coming up from the bottom most part of the staircase at F Deck. I think steward wheat was mistake
@TitanicAnimations
@TitanicAnimations 4 года назад
The area in question on F-deck doesn't connect with any other point of the ship than the Grand Staircase. It is completely sealed off from other parts of the ship, meaning water had to be on the E-deck landing and then flow down into the F-deck area there. Hope this cleared up the misunderstanding.
@jamesfracasse8178
@jamesfracasse8178 4 года назад
@@TitanicAnimations I get it Steward Wheat was leaving his quarters on F Deck and was making his way up and saw water escapding down from E deck. Now it makes sense.

Quick tip, the sign sign of “Turkish baths” should be “cooling room” and the way to Scotland road.. the sign should be “emergency exit”

I would like to die in the grand staircase. Just watch the water get higher and higher. Until the dome bursts and water fills the whole place. Gosh. Sounds fun.

why having water splashing from the dome, when it wasnt flooded yet?
@TitanicAnimations
@TitanicAnimations 5 лет назад
Because water inside the ship is trying to play catch-up to the waterline outside the ship. This particular instance of where the water was at came from James Cameron's 2012 analysis which everyone seems to know and love and swear by as the Bible of how Titanic sank. So if you have a problem with the depiction of the dome implosion, dial up JC xD

@@TitanicAnimations Although the water has mostly lower inside than outside the ship (especially inside the hull), I think the much weaker grand staircase windows can't hold up the pressure of 10 feet high water above it. Thats just my theory though.
@TheZmusicGroup

About the flooding of Boat deck/A deck... You know, I feel like when the glass dome broke the Boat deck level was already pretty much flooded. I don't think the dome implosion was that "spectacular" since the water inside would have rose already pretty much up to the ceiling.
