Luv this kind of idea and style for books so your story sounds like it'd be fun and full of intrigue so wishing you get it published!

Aw yeah. This sounds brilliant. I think the best examples of this sort of thing come from the mindset you applied here. Mining the existing canon for comfortable holes to tell stories in is a really powerful tool and it seems like you've done a super intriguing job here. I'm glad you chose this rather than the existential crises, I know the latter are hard to resist. I love leaving easter eggs. I actually left a greek mythology easter egg in one volume of The Bleeding Ground. As far as I know, nobodies picked up on it. I eagerly anticipate the day when somebody asks me "Y'know when X says -redacted-, did you do that to reference -redacted". I wish you and your project all the best. I don't have much influence but I'll tell... My people? Seriously though, I'll be sure to tell my bookish buds about this one so they can keep an eye out. If you ever get an audiobook made I'll be sure to pick it up :)

Thanks Mason! Yeah mining existing canon is much more manageable. And it sounds like I’ll be picking up volume one of The Bleeding Ground to see if I can catch it. I appreciate your feedback and support, and the minute I have an audio book I’ll send it your way. Not quite sure if I’ll do it professionally or not, but I definitely want to make my work as available as possible to anyone interested in reading.

@@authoreloisebahr No need to pick it up my friend, the whole series is available free of charge on my channel. It's in a handy playlist, and there's even a trailer if you're not sure you want to commit :) If you do decide to go on the journey I sincerely hope you enjoy yourself. I respect your drive to make your work accessible. I also understand that it's not a particularly easy task to undertake. We live in a world where the Big Fish are pretty close to pricing indie authors out of the audiobook market. That's one of the things that pushed me into creating Blackscreen Audio. Regardless, I'll be cheering you on as a colleague. I honestly reckon as long as you can come up with a strong marketing strategy you might be in for a winner with this. People gobble up historical fantasy / mythology retellings like they're the last candy on earth and they're always hungry for more.

@@MasonInTheDark I found it already, listened to the book trailer and will definitely be listening! You have a lovely talent for voice acting and storytelling so I know I’ll enjoy it. :) I’m not quite sure I’ve got the right voice for narrating my own work, but it’s not completely out of the question. Since editing my couple videos I cringe a bit less when I hear myself but I don’t think I have what it takes to make the characters come to life. I might take a stab at it but will likely end up saving my pennies for a professional.

@@authoreloisebahr Oh yeah I don't blame you. I love my job, but it aint easy :') In an ideal world Blackscreen audio would have a catalogue of affordable narrators at your disposal. I'm only just getting started though, one step at a time, slowly marching towards my goal. As far as the cringe goes, you'll get used to it. Obviously I can't speak to your body language but in terms of your audio presentation you come across as natural. I enjoyed the way you answered that first question, so much sarcasm delivered masterfully. I've been running this channel for two and a half years now, another channel for almost two before that. Eventually you just identify what works and what doesn't. It's a slow process of sculpting your Channel Persona until you're happy with it and that helps you get better. A year from now you'll look back at these videos and cringe your ass off, but a year after that you'll do the same thing with the videos you thought were so much better. I literally did that earlier today where I accidentally clicked on TBG Vol 3 and was like... omg, my narration. Why do I sound like a child. I have a much firmer grasp of my vocal range these days and I'm slowly trying to teach myself new accents. that's hard though. Anyway, thanks for your kind words. It always makes me smile to hear feedback like that. Also.. Sorry about the barrage of messages. I've touch typed since I was like 8 years old so my brain and fingers are almost perfectly in sync. Makes writing easy, turns conversations into rambling passages of text.

@@MasonInTheDark Maybe once I’m ready for a narrator Blackscreen audio will be ready for a big female cast. Your character range is delightful- really enjoyed your take on the newbie authortube tag. I appreciate your kind words about my authenticity- I don’t hear it that way because I know how many times I had to rehearse and film again to get rid of my tangents or bizarre metaphors. No need to apologize for the “barrage of messages” I’m quite the same way. Touch typing since I was about the same age as you, it’s a game changer for sure!
