I bought a 48MID, 52MID, 56FULL, and 60LOW Zipcore, absolutely love them. Look so cool. I was a Vokey man before, but the price, performance and looks won me over.

Thanks for the input, get to hear you like them, that's a heck of a wedge set up.

@@todaysgolfer my PW is 44 degrees. I hit it 290-310 off the tees, so I wanted to have lots in my arsenal for 110 in. It's been working out so far. I do love I can go full swing and feel confident, rather than having to manufacture 50-75% shots.

Solid wedge testing there. I enjoyed the data and insight shared. Obviously both solid wedges by good companies. Cleveland keeps it simple with a Low, Mid, and Full bounce option. If you want to geek out a bit, Titleist has a bunch of bounce and sole configurations and incredible customization options. Titleist is still one of few companies that will build any of their Wedges with Womens shafts. Again, well done video for sure! Thanks.

Just replaced my 20 year old Cleveland CG12 56 degree with the Zipcore in the same loft, mid grind. I carry a 52 degree SM7 and a 60 degree RTX 3. I may just replace all the older stuff with Zipcore if it's half as good as everyone keeps saying.... and they are really well priced too!

I swapped out the SM8 for the CBX2. I’m single figure h’cap and wedge play is my strength, HOWEVER - despite the OTT options in SM8, CBX is simple and much more user friendly. Unless you can practice many hours per week - get CBX.....

I just couldn't get on with the huge soles of my CBX2s. I took a grinder to them to reduce them but still not a fan. Previously I played TM Hi-Toes. I've ordered 50/10, 56/10 and 62/6 ZipCores. Hoping they'll be the perfect middle ground.

should have kept the SM8 and then spent three minutes of your life watching phil mickelson’s “chipping 101” video ... haven’t touched a club in 6 weeks and played yesterday and was chipping it great all bc that video phil made. nobody needs forgiving wedges around the green - they need to watch their uncle phil for three mins showing us all how it’s done

Don’t know if I understood the spin drop off rate on half shots. We’re you saying that having 50% less spin than the SM8 was a good thing? If so could you explain as I wouldn’t have thought it was.
@octavianavila2418
@octavianavila2418 2 года назад
They were quite ginger with declaring the Zip Core when the spin drop of decimated the Vokey. But they dropped to price.. Great video but take a stand

It’s the little pitches and chips where I’d want the most spin. Full shots i wish I had less spin as I rarely pitch it past the flag it’s always short then spins back further 😡🤣

Let's Do a test for CB wedges/Callaway Mack Daddy CB wedge vs Cleveland CBX 2 wedge? i.e. 30 yards over the bunker onto the green with medium to less green to work with.

How would you rate it next to the Taylormade Hi-Toes or Mill Grind 2s?
@todaysgolfer
@todaysgolfer 3 года назад
Very highly Tony, it's just the little things (a fraction tighter spin window) that nudge the ZipCore up a little in our opinion. Completely understand though that a lot of golfers have favourite brands when it comes to wedges.

What does spin drop off mean?
@todaysgolfer
@todaysgolfer 3 года назад
Hi Travis, it's the difference between your highest and lowest spinning shots with the same club. The tighter the window, the more consistent and reliable the spin is.

Thanks for a great H2H, but it would have been useful if you had added some "wet Ball" data (by spraying the Balls & the mat) to get an idea of how both compare in wet conditions. In the UK most of us are playing wedge shots with an amount of moisture present and the real-world spin reduction in these circumstances can be significant with some brands of wedges.

Love both Vokey and Cleveland but I feel Cleveland has dropped off in the past few years. So many more bounce, grind and customization options with the Vokeys through Wedgeworks. Still love my old 588s tho!

Not now… the Cleveland zip core wedges offer everything. I’ve played vokey for 8 years, just swapped over today to RTX zipcore, so much softer feeling and IMO more playable, more control.

Cleveland wedges have always been fantastic, I've tried both Vokey's and had many Cleveland models, the Vokey's felt harder off the face and I want my wedges to feel soft... The only thing that's let Cleveland down in the past is very poor shaftband and grip alignment, I've had some shockers in the past, quality control on assembly needed looking at.... 🤪

Totally agree. I love my rtx 4s but I've had clubs from Cleveland in the past that the butt end of the grips would spin. They used some cheap tape and solvent and it ruined the grips. Now when I order from them I order with the grips uninstalled in the box and do it myself.
@Harryjones05
@Harryjones05 3 года назад
@@kourt2469 It's very poor isn't it, for such quality wedges the assembly part of the product has been very very poor in the past...! I've got a friend who's a teaching pro with a Cleveland account and I've told him numerous times to pass on this info to the Cleveland rep... Luckily for me I fit my own shafts so it's never been a problem for me, it's just friendly feedback so they make a better product! 👍🏻👌🏻

@@Harryjones05 yeah same my buddy is a retailer for them and so he orders me their clubs really discounted. I've had a set of srixons irons and Cleveland wedges both show up with failing grips. It's hard to complain since I get them for so cheap but still pretty shocking. But I love their clubs.

This is a stupid test, wedges are t about always hitting full shots
@todaysgolfer
@todaysgolfer 3 года назад
Not sure wedge designers would agree Damien. The best talk of not needing to optimise for hitting full shots from the fairway, that's where you naturally get most spin anyway. Instead the specific goal is to target extra spin and control on half shots (and especially from the rough), where speeds are lower and golfers naturally create less spin.
