Yes his words were lovely and sincere. This family has a very soft and gentle side. My great grandmother and grandfather lived near by in Gary and said that they were a very nice family. My great grandmother was very old fashioned so my mother couldn't go to Michael's talent show. 😏
@@karaokecatlady um abusers where? Who? What do you mean? I know about lying accusers. Your comment needs some clarity because I hope you're not trying to throw shade at MJ Jus sayin.
@@ceeceedior21 Well to me , spanking is abuse.. they way he did it, one of the boys for getting dance steps wrong ? That's not right. That's just sad 😔.
. . . also because he doesn’t seem to mind talking about how he was raised and talking about Michael when he’s trying to promote his album and all he seems to get is about 50 seconds to do that and the rest of his interview deals with his childhood and Michael. (However, 💥I need to be fair, this isn’t the whole interview, mainly I’m talking about other interviews I’ve seen with him.)
That's not entirely true Michael Jackson said he got whipped/beat with all kinds of things see Michael actually layed it all out he was not afraid to speak against his father he loved him but Michael said he didn't understand him he's said this in past interviews so I love Tito but he's not telling the whole story Michael said in a interview that when his father would come in the room he would regurgitate meaning throw up at the site of his father because he was so scared of him and this was when he was an adult
@Donald Allen Why shouldn't Tito go on the show? He's not the one talking crap. Actually Tito being there is like him saying "bring it on" if you dare.
@@bettiekenney1880 Correct!!!! He is a better person and he went on his show just to prove it, be careful what you say, because we all got dysfunctional issues in our family, including DL, no man is above Gods Law!!
This is Laflare Tv life isn't fair. But facts are fact and truth is truth. All the evidence that prove MJ was innocent so DL Hughley needs to do his homework and apologise.
This is Laflare Tv It's not about me feeling better but doing the right thing. White supremacy out to ruin the legacy of great black performers and the we get the Hugeleys, Oprah's, etc throwing their brothers under the bus when they have the intelligence to figure it out and spread the truth and not to help the mass media and their agenda. You're right though, life isn't fair, and it's a damn shame when integrity is lost. I wish Tito would have questioned Hugeley over his comments and educated him on the facts and the inconsistency of the accusers claims and the apparent lies which are already proven. Talk about black on black crime....The Hugeleys, legends and Oprah's of this world don't need a loaded gun to shoot, but do it with their ignorance.
Those cool wanted Michael''s money and Joe did the only thing he could thing of like he told Mrs. That the only way he know how that how his father raise him
Michael was nothing but good. Tito remains very talented and awesome. They're father did what was needed in those days. Part of what is wrong today is the lack of discipline and consequences for the disturbed and entitled youth.
Tito so laid back and smooth... He seems like a brother that would be so cool 😎 to hang with.... Much love and respect to him and the entire Jackson family... ✌💗
I'm getting tired of Joe Jackson, a black father, getting a bad rep. People always talk about there aren't enough fathers in the world, yet they demonized Papa Joe. His methods might have been a little extreme, but he loved all of his children and they loved him. I might be out of line, but I'm saying it anyway. Mighty strange no one ever says anything about the black mothers that were far more abusive to their kids than Papa Joe ever was to his kids.
Thanks for keeping it 100 with your comments. People of 2019 keep trying to get into the Delorean(Back to the Future) to analyze parenting standards of the 50, 60 and 70's generation. It is amazing we sit in church and always go, Bring back the good ole days when children were respectful. I grew up in my grandmothers home and if she thought she said something slick, whatever she was holding was coming your way, to include a hot iron. Guess what, I knew who the hell I was dealing with and didn't do nonsense. Joe Jackson did his thing. Of course he could have done a lot of things different but like DL stated, all of his kids have a different perspective on Joe Jackson which is normal.
@@jarrodflowers3481 , _EXACTLY!!!_ You have said it all, pretty much. A lot of the issues are that, when it comes to this modern-day “ _P.C._ ” nonsense, today’s version of so-called “parenting” is way, _WAY_ too lenient, not strict enough, allows children and young people to disrespect _ANY_ form of authority -- whether such authority is parental in the home (the example that starts earliest as _THE_ biggest influence in a child’s life), is governmental, is in the school and/or the classroom, is with law-enforcement, or otherwise, without repercussions or negative consequences to be expected as a _RESULT_ of such defiance and disrespect -- as well as that whole issue of certain groups/classes of people specially treated as “victims,” who _DEMAND_ their “right” to behave in any way they “feel like” they want, and any form of teaching, training, discipline, correction, or even needed punishment of bad behavior, in some cases (in the sense of authority figures determining what’s “good and bad,” or “right and wrong”), is considered “abusive.” There is a _HUGE_ difference between “discipline” and “abuse.”
So much respect for the Jackson family, Ive been watching videos of the old 70s Jacksons and Jackson 5 songs... back to back classics! They were so incredible on stage, they have a star. Blessed with talent. Music Royalty.
Proud of you Tito..so glad that you making your own due on the solo circuit and always keeping it real..he has a smooth deep voice..some of those J5 records he would have nice cuts, glad he always tell his J5 stories
That scene of Tito getting beaten by Joe for breaking his guitar strings really stuck to me from The Jacksons An American Dream!! Joe Jackson is very intimidating and scary father but i got to give him alot of credit for keeping his 9 kids grounded out from trouble from the streets and shape them into the most successful musical family of all time
It good that some of us can look and listen at a situation and get the finer points that makes the most sense. It's called: being a legitimate and intelligent observer.
@@courtneynewton-john8862 You shouldn't talk about being emotionally damage, cause you're telling on yourself. What you posted has nothing to do with Michael Jackson, but more about you!

@@ladyintellect4667 Even if you don't believe he was a molester he was still wicked and horrible to children, like telling Wade Robson there were "no kids allowed" on the Dangerous tour, but then taking Brett Barnes instead. Who does that to a child? If you're going to take one little boy then take them all, why would an adult want to make one child competitive with another? It's ok for someone like Macaulay Culkin, he is rich and can do whatever he wants, but these other boys were nobodies, Jackson would make them think they were his everything and then in the blink of an eye, swap them with another boy. It's horrible behaviour and he was very cruel to those kids **fact**
I can’t believe that Tito is even speaking to this man. After the things he’s said about Michael- I’m shocked he even agreed to appear on this show. But you know, promote your music Tito. Use him.
And he said those things the previous March! Can't believe Tito agreed to come on his show! Really weird! Michael was the victim of of an huge extortion case and an off the map media lynching. @@dpcisunbreakable Because they are his FAMILY and Michael is dead. They should defend their kin instead of running to tv shows that trash their family. Tito had no business doing this
Speak Ezi yes it makes sense.. he may have went overboard at times, but people certainly took advantage of his childlike delayed development or whatever you may see it.. I don’t think his intentions was to ever harm any children ..
Courtney Newton-John Stop it. When a grown man is the most famous person in the world, and among the most successful, you can’t compare him to someone who has never known that level of fame or success. MJ wasn’t some random guy down the street. These kids came to his house with their parents as a reward. His home was literally an Amusement Park, and he was the main attraction. A bunch of kids piled onto a huge bed and on the floor with their hero eating popcorn and watching movies is totally innocent. The DANGEROUS part is people talking about what causes trauma in kids without being properly educated on the subject.
@@courtneynewton-john8862 You sound crazy right off the bat by calling Michael Jackson a "has been". The Bad Tour, which ran from 1987-1989 was attended by 4.4 MILLION people. The Dangerous album came out in 1991 and was marketed heavily to "urban" markets. It sold over 4 million copies by 1992 in the United States alone, spawned 4 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including one #1. It also included two #1 hits on the R&B charts. Sounding like a "has been" yet? Not to mention his 1993 halftime performance( NOT the Superbowl game itself) is often cited as one of the most watched televised events in the history of American Television. You cannot name any other artist who was more famous than Michael Jackson at that time. The closest would be Madonna and Whitney Houston. Grunge was a fad.

A strict father like Joe was not uncommon in the old days. Nevertheless, that man did what he thought was best. I am sure he regretted some choices throughout the years that hurt his kids. However, all of his kids stayed off of drugs and out of jail in their teens and as young adults. Anything else they did as adults was on them.

Exactly! It should be crystal clear, but people like to muddy things up and place fault where there isn't any. Joe Jackson did a "man's" job and a "father's" job.
@@ladyintellect4667 Exactly. And what really upsets me…when white people have the nerve to criticize Joe on his upbringing of his kids. In the 50s, Joe was being disciplined by the white man like he was a child. They taught him anger and discipline.
Joe and Katherine had too many children to be relaxed in their discipline. You close your eyes for one second and they're in the streets, in jail, or unwed parents. None of that happened. Joe was the "James Evans" of his day....tired, broke, with too many mouths to feed. Yeah, that can make you angry and he probably was too rough at times. But really...would there have been a Jackson 5 without Joe's insight, determination, and perseverance? Would there have been thee Michael Jackson, Pop Icon and Superstar we all loved? My hat's off to Joe.
The average black kid that grew up in the inner city that was raised by their father gotta butt whooping that's the way it was we all had a James Evans or Papa Joe Jackson as a father!!
I honestly think joe being so strict was a reason the jacksons were so strong. Every single one of them were successful. They were poor and went from nothing to something. One father spent all his last on instruments after he got fired from his job. All his hard working money he spent on instruments for kids he seen potential in and just knew with all the hard work they could get out of the situation they were in. They ate potatoes every night for dinner. They’re all so humble. They were all humble. Joe was hard on them but if it wasn’t for him being so hard on them we wouldn’t have a king of pop. That’s that.
That's right, they were pumping drugs into the black community with a vengeance. The young black boys and men were being coaxed into drugs with very little opportunity. How was just as vicious. Especially with 6 boys, this was no joke. Pressure produces diamonds.
I ONLY watched this cause Tito. Dl u a hycrocite ❗❗ talk badly about Michael and Tito sons when they confront u. Then have the audacity to invite him to your show like everything is cool. some is wrong with u dude. 🤬😠🗣️
As it was pointed out, every child has their own perspective of their relationship with their father. That, out of all things, should be respected. What "worked" for Jackie, could've had the opposite effect on Mike or Randy. Fear and respect don't coincide. From MJ's own mouth, the trauma he experienced as a kid heightened his sensitivity towards children who went through their own hardships. If he could, he would've saved any and every kid from pain, imo.
I figured this out even without this interview....demons are always trying to destroy someone or something good!!! May the Angels continue to sing thee to thy rest Michael....you dont have to deal with these wicked people anymore!!🙏🙌🙏 Thank you Toto for clarifying a few things for those who feel they need clarification. 💜 My discerning spirit had already enlightened me years ago!!
I was just at the house at 2300 Jackson and looking around, I couldn't see the Jackson family still being there with their level of talent and dedication. I was telling someone afterwards that we can argue about his methods but I think Papa Joe (RIP) knew what he was doing in terms of having a vision of where he wanted the family to be and getting them ALL out of Gary and to Motown and Hollywood.
Quite frankly if their father hadn't push them in the direction that he did,no doubt they would not be the Jackson's as you know them!! their lives would have went in a totally different direction!! So it's because of their father that you know them as them as who they are.............
When I was a kid you were beaten. My parents were the same way. Now you can't whip your kids now because you can go to jail. This is why kids are out of control now. They have no father figures. This is a fatherless generation.
Papa Joe had a babysitting gig with me and brother in the 70s at the Circle Star Theater in norCal. during intermission of the J5 show, Dad went to get snacks and the room was empty. Say what you will about him, Papa Joe stayed with us until Daddy came back. We told Dad who helped us and he said we lied to his dying day 40 years later.
It’s sad that so many people have misinterpreted the “spare the rod, spoil the child”. A shepherds rod is not used to hit a sheep. It is used to guide it.
There is one song that MJ recorded that he vividly explained the core of who he was, "CHILDHOOD." HE tells his critics before you judge me, let me tell you who I am. That song is self explanatory and deep. RIP MICHAEL JOE JACKSON.
Joe Jackson did exactly what he was supposed to do he made them mentally and phisically tough. And successful if we as black ppl get back to this we will have great things happen.

DL said some very harsh things to Tito's son about Michael so I was extremely shocked to see this interview. If Michael was legitimately harming children the 10 year long FBI investigation would have gotten something and carted him off to prison many many years ago. Kudos to Tito for being a bigger better man because I would not be able to sit with someone who went to verbal war with my kid over my brother.

Here he has a legend on his show and can't let him speak! I watch his show often and he always cuts off his guest when they are speaking. That's so rude.
I am a white guy. I grew up in the 70s/ 80s. My dad was a trucker. Love the guy alot now, but he totally instilled the fear in me. I was a good kid, scared of my dad, but he was very short tempered. I got it good one Valentine's day morning when I was in grade 1, so bad I was kept home from school because my parents were scared what the teacher and others might see. I remember it well. Remember my parents not letting me outside and told me not to come to the door if anyone stops by. As a kid I got the belt, sticks, wooden spoons, dads big hands. I would get it for not doing the dishes right. I would get it for not understanding math. Anything I did or did not do I got it from him. I was scared to death of the guy. As you get older somehow you find a way to make peace with it all. The scars are there, the memories are there, but if you don't forgive and make some sort of peace it will eat you alive for the rest of your life, I cannot carry that with me forever. I am haunted by the past. I dream about the past, but I do what I can do to keep positive. I have come to the place where I love him alot. It was a process.
Your childhood sounds exactly like mine except my Dad was an alchoholic. He was violent when he was drunk or sober. My Mom also abused me and ended up in a mental hospital.. She died a short time later. I still struggle with it, but there are days when I feel some measure of forgiveness. That was one of the reasons I understood Michael's pain and fear. No matter what you do the fear never really leaves you. Michael's triumph is that he became a really loving and protective person, especially towards children. Alot of people didn't understand that and greedy people tried to take advantage of his love for children. He was such a target but Michael was always innocent. And shout out to Tito. I love what he is doing with his music now.
