Then why NaOH if stored for a long time will look watery? 3. long route, is you do m1v1=m2v2 , where m1= 0.5 M, v1 =20 ml, and v2 = 30 ml, M2=unknown you don't need conversion at all. 0.5*20=30*M2, solving for M2=10/30, or 0.3333. That is the M of the other solution and if you need moles, you can figure it out with ever needing to convert NaOH into mols...the only problem with m1v1=m2v2 is if there are multiple Hydroxide (OH) or Hydronium (H+) ions
