I think the reason why TIX embraces so widely is multifaceted. The Norwegian people love the underdog, the one who strikes from below. Then he has become a role model for many young people by putting important issues like mental health on the agenda and by promoting a message that there is always a way out, there is always hope. Parents see that he is a good role model for their kids and their teenagers. It makes them listen to his music, and then necessarily the latest songs like this MGP song and "Jeg Vil Ikke Leve" (I Won't Live"). They see that here is an artist who sees their kids and their teens. I know parents with children and adolescents with conditions such as Tourette's, autism, Asperger's, etc. who see that TIX gives their children a hope that it is possible to succeed, that there is an artist who sees them and who knows what it is like to be different. That should not be underestimated. I saw people in the parent generation who wrote after the final yesterday that they changed from originally wanting to vote for KEiiNO to voting for TIX because they felt he touched them, while KEiiNO did not. Music is not just what we on a theoretical level can call quality and not quality. Music is also about touching, and that's where TIX wins. And that is a thing music critics and music purists can do nothing about. Is it an artist that people feel that sees them, that touches them, then they can say what they want about it not being quality. People do not listen to that ear. I also see it among the Norwegian MGP fans. The majority are in revolt because KEiiNO did not win. I'm in a group where 3/4 of the members were in an almost hallelujah mood over KEiiNO and who are now shitty and angry and who look darkly at the possibilities in Eurovision. They also underestimate the power of an artist being able to touch people's hearts to such an extent that the fan favorite is beaten.
For me tix is the best i am so happy he win ,😊all hater in tix sometimes watch your face in mirror or try also watch your self ,before you judge to other people 😇cause you are not perfect ,give him change he have nice voice. ,song ,i like the song. Dont judge by the book by its cover Congrats tix 😊never give up your dream, dont mind people say ,follow your dream 😉
I honestly loved this song, but I think what really won me (and a lot of other norwegians) over is Andreas/Tix as a person. Everything he's been through makes his performance (and overall presence really) in the show so pure and real. Heck, I cried watching him win. "Monument" probably had bigger chances in Eurovision, but Tix' message and story is so powerful, and his win is absolutely deserved in my opinion!!
Please stop hate on him! I think we need to understand the meaning behind the song before we say how terrible it is, that his popularity made him win or that Norway made a bad decision to send him to Eurovision. The meaning is more powerful and relevant for people today. Specially around COVID, where we all need someone in our lives to help us through the demons.
There was a meaning behind monument, which is also relevant today. To honour People who don’t have statues built for them, remembering the dead. There can’t be statues for all key workers, and many doctors nurses won’t have statues, but this is an ok song and understand what you are saying
If that was the case where the meaning behind the lyrics is what determines the winner, then Jorn should've won, hands down.. He won because he's been in the media for a long time, letting everyone know how hard he's had it etc.. News flash. Everyone's had a hard time in life at some point. Difference is that most of us don't use the media to let everyone know about it. The only reason he won is because of what i call, a 'social pityparty'..
i really like this song. i feel like a lot of the criticism doesn't make much sense. it being "cliche"... so are most songs. most of them are some variation on the same theme. i like this one because it feels like it has real emotional sincerity, he actually sounds very sad. i feel like some critics might be against the "boyband"-esque sound and the framing of a breakup around the theme of angels and demons. but many critics are biased against both the campiness of eurovision and of boyband-type performers in the first place. it also helps that the singer is very sympathetic, he has tourettes syndrome and has very much owned his disorder and managed to succeed, and was beloved by the PEOPLE even if critics didn't represent them
Well, to my non Norwegian mind, KEiiNO brings a primal sense to surface, a hymn to our collective memory as species, enhanced by the Norwegian heritage. This, just reminds me of all the unfullfilled teen love, Big Time Rush type of songs that we have heard so many times.
I wanted Keiino to win, he was my second favourite so one of my eyes is crying, the other one is smiling but I think he should sing this song in Norwegian, much better. Good luck !
Still think Keiino had the better song. This song is much better in Norwegian than English. Not sure it would win, but then again it's mountains above the rubbish we in the UK send
The uk are famius for sending crap but not even us would send this crap over kienno monument . I really hope this doesnt even qualify to the final haha that would be perfect but now norwau have sent this i aint gonna be watching as there is no song i actually like left
@@anthonynettleton8346 I don't know we did send old enkelbert haha If Dotter goes through from melodifestivalen would be enough to watch it. But it always good to see the UK come in the top 5 (reverse order) haha
If Keiino won you wouldn’t have to pray as Monument is a ESC winner for sure. Oh well. I hope Norway learns its lesson not to send shite when real talent is right in front of you. Keiino forever!
Efendi really love this! 🇦🇿💞🇳🇴 Azerbaijan Norway = 12 Points Switch is like Greece and Cyprus trading each other with 12 points which is very political!
Keiino and Jorn making the top makes sense to me. Tix and the sax people = definitely not. What’s surprising is that the final two voting wasn’t even close; Tix won by almost 100k votes. How does that happen??
Everytime i listen to radio i hear this Song. Tix hit the charts with everything he makes. He is a star outside esc/MGP..Keiino is big stars among Eurovision fans..and they år maybe 10% og the votes..
People are saying that they like this better in Norwegian, but I didn't really appreciate this song until the English language performance. I think it belongs in English at Eurovision. Lots of songs are better in their native language, but this song was written in English and it shows, imo.
The first part: What can I say? You (Norway/ those who voted) have made me stay. The second part: I’m just a fallen angel x2 And then: thank you so much Norway!🤗🤗
@@SnillhundReal ground idea of Eurovision was that peace after worlds war 2 and every country show them self, whit culture/ tradition, countrys own langues or sing in english or france languaes. There also rules about how long it should be and must be part of singing. Earlly years shows more trational sounds and clothes. And if a country sings in moder langues, often get points for that. Keiino sings not only in english, they also sings in Sami, who is Norways aborginies and also their video shows Norway country and reindears and Sami tradition. Were earth has a man in fur, fake wings, saying Tix on head, showing Norway... And you even asking that...
@@nina-kitty6573 The sami are not unique to Norway. Nor are there even many of them. In the entire world, there is an estimate 70 000 sami. And that is in the entire world. Compare that to the 5 million Norwegian citizens, and they aren't that many. Sure, they are important enough to warrant representation, but they already got that in Eurovision not long ago. It was time to show another side of Norway. Norway isnt the land of the Sami, even if they are a part of it, and therefore there needs to be a change in who is represented. Now, TIX does not show much about the traditional culture. But cmon. The guy is responsible for so much of the music the Norwegian youth listens to. That does mean that he might not be showing traditional culture, but a part of the modern one. Besides, if we wanted real Norwegian representation, we would've gotten those farmer rappers or faith bloody faith, since that entire genre came from here
@@SnillhundReal Sami is arbogines of Norway, ur befolkning, as indians are in Usa, the arbogines is Australia. Its not about how many they are in the country, most stupid thing I ever heard. Read history, I just saying and there is good reason, there is not many Sami in Norway and Sweden, How gouvermeny has treating them before, has comming out in Sweden a movie about it. And still today Sami has fight for their right rights to their traditions and land. Kinda shameful, what you saying about them, then you are not better how gouverment has treating them before. I like the ground idea of Eurovision, and think its kinda sad, that Norway had change to show, but choose maindtream music, plays on radio every day... Iam not a Sami, but I will not stand sillence for any kind of injustices. Iam proud finnish, from finnish karelean and whit valoon blood from belgium, far in my famillt tree. I can put fown Naziz every day, becourse I have that clean blood, Hitler was trying to get, and I eat Naziz for breakfast...Piss off!
The costumes just dont work for me. It really looks silly and for a moment I thought it is a joke song. But there is still time for improvement. However, do u guys think he will be the winner of eurovision? I dont think so.

You're not the only person in the world. I don't want this boring Keiino. Tix was Great. Stop insulting the song when your favourite doesnt win. It is disrespectful for The artist.
Stop being toxic he won not KEiiNO you need be happy for him not hating on him if you really support KEiiNO dont hate on Tix because they will never want that
You can write what you want and I will not change the mind. This song is weak and boring only KEiiNO deserved to win! With this Norway will not qualify for the final.
@@In_my_own_mind Yes I feel good about myself. Tix may have regional appeal to Norwegians, however he isn't really Eurovision material and will not have wider appeal. Eurovision has progressed and Tix's song is a nod to the Eurovision of a daggy past. It's dated and won't get the votes.
Shame to see that this is still the quality that wins MGP.. I'm surprised to see Jorn losing to this... Whatever this is.. Wannabe backstreet boys thing.
I suggest that you check out TIXs´ other songs before making such a comment. If you claim something like this, at least have something to back it up. You are literally claiming that he doesnt have much of a voice after only hearing one elictronically augmentated song of his.
The norwegian performance of the song is not manipulated in any way (except for a subtle layering of his voice as an instrumental in the background. Nothing to make his voice sound better though)
Boring song, ridiculous performance. Something to laugh about at ESC. TIX won't work internationally because nobody knows him outside of Norway. Norway missed a chance to send a winner. Yes, I'm team KEIINO!
