you know what I like about this video.. Amy Tran has a smile on her face, every time she is saving the ball.. EVERY time!! its great to see someone doing something they enjoy.. goo on ya Amy! :)
I just couldn't work with the legguards and the kickers. The legguards wouldn't stay put, the belts kept loosening so I had to tighten them multiple times during the game. And even the video shows how the inside of the kickers keeps popping out from underneath the legguards. The kickers themselves were odd as well, I kept returning a bouncing ball high all the time and I never had that with obo. I really like the gloves and had a tk bodyprotector but I am never ever going for the legguards and kickers. The legguards didn't even make it to a full season. The literally fell apart so I had to fix it with glue and tape. I am so happy my club decided to only use obo legguards from then on. In that one year every one was complaining about them.
The Tk gear I got were all new straight from the box, fact is that it didnt hold up. Tk is a good brand and before that I never had a problem with it. My club had a sponsor deal with Tk so they got a lot of new gear for a smaller price unfortnatly I wasnt the only one who had problems with my legguards, in fact the next year 85% of the goallies got other legguards instead and the year after that no one uses them anymore. My trustee obo's are now entering their fourth year without problems. I did have to replace the kickers though.
+Rosa Groen i used to have the same problem with the legguards, they loosed up in the middle of the game, but I changed the straps, made them my self, and now i feel them good, i use the 2 brands, obo and tk, i think both are great Greetings from Mexico!!!
Great voice over Colin ....Amy gotta move ya feet more with hand saves and getting your head behind the ball more and keep glove face open. Love Panda :-)
could you do a video that includes diving and sliding? My main concern about TK equipment is the squared shape of the legguards and that preventing sliding ease.
I was thinking about getting some of these when they came out, but it's the little things which make a kit good (or not) and the tongue is very, very annoying. I find the Grays strap on the inside of the leg is much, much better. The new Mercian pads ftw.
They make all of this seem so easy. I think I could make one of those rapid-fire saves. 1:18-1:22? Impossible! I'd make the first save and then be like, "Oh man...I might be stuck."
think they are using a bola machine so they can demonstrate techniques. in the combo of techniques at the end they are clearly shooting...you can hear the shots when the music isent too loud
i dont know if it was just me but did anyone else notice that the tongue on the kicker kept flipping out from behind their leg guards when ever they had a wide lunge. this would really piss me off and take ages to fix each time it happened. seems like a design flaw to me.
I keep with OBO robo Special Performance Hirebound shoes, and OBO Cloud legguards. The pants/trouser i'm wearing is from TK, my bodyprotector is from OBO (Yahoo i think). My Stick glove is From TK, it is fully red, just as Max weinholds and rassie pietersens stick gloves. My normal glove on the left is just as the one of rassie pieterse, but the edge of that glove is with me Black. And my helmet is from Reebok, it has a black shell (that they juse in icehockey), and the cage is white.
tk is more for lowere level goalies. OBO is for better level goalies. tk has a wider pad to make it easier to save goals, where as OBO is more comfortable for better goalies. i have used both and i find tk is much more practical, less comfortable and not as cool looking, but if you are just starting out, tk saves more goals. OBO looks better and is more comfortable, but is for better goalies who have better skills. just my opinion though.
@tkhockeyman100 Panda is one of the best GK coaches in England, if not the World! He is an incredible coach, and has helped produce the likes of Ali McGregor and George Pinner. And it's his job to analyse different techniques. Just saying...
1. people who play in goal should respect other brands- i use obo but i dont criticise ultimately decent brands of kit. 2. so did i. his name is Rassie Pieterse 3. obo is unique. youtube haters certainly aren't. 4. Tk is a good make, i prefer others but i still admit they are a good make and they have been for years- hence why they get a large part of the market? 5. obo is good shit that really works but so is TK 6. haters gona hate.
Good video I prefer OBO personally having tryed out a tk kit earlier in the year I went with OBO in the store. Also I wish I could play like any of these keepers for just one game that would be the best game ever
TK was just too big and heavy for me. I prefer OBO because of their products being lighter and thinner but still having great protection. OBO also has way more color choices and their equipment is more comfortable to me.
but isnt being a keeper all about making saves? therefore surely the bigger surfaces to make those saves would help. I use the kit the Max uses n this video and it far surpasses all obo kit i have used and i have been playing for some time now using obo, monarch, gryphon and tk, and in the tk1 kit every save i make is like the ball hitting a trampoline, that stuff is bult like a tank and is far more comfortable than obo kit i have used... However it is all down to opinion
surely thats more the keepers technique than the kit? why does one make have to be better than another? isent it good that theres different style of kit to choose from instead of this childish debate that one make is better than the other?
thats not necessarily true it depends on the keepers preference...my coach plays at national premiere division level and he prefers TK, and I wouldn't say that national premiere division is for lower level keepers.
tk's leggeard on the inside of you're leg are not long enough for my opinion if you turn you're leg slightly to far you'l have it against you leg, i don't like that everything feels so loose obo is more my style sorry
Wow, this comment really makes no sense at all. Both are good, although they have a diferent design philosophy. The OBO Hi Rebound legguards are actually wider. Concerned about the skills? Both brands are used by top-level goalies
