@@yaboi-km2qn Jazz is pretty lazy, but some people like it 🤷♂️ Classical takes disciplined practice playing to make up for the modern design, but to me jazz is just honking.
he has the best tone quality i have ever heard on tenor, bari, and any saxophone. sounds like a flute, clarinet, or a stringed instrument most of the time, not a sax. i wouldnt be surprised if major orchestras hired him. he would blend with any instrument in a band or orchestra
The description says he is in the TKWO. He is already principal saxophonist for the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra the most famous wind orchestra in the world👍
I've been listening live and in recordings, classical saxophone has always sounded like that. Composers and arrangers also separate them from the clarinet. What is impressive are the guys that can do glissando from up top and make it sound like a violinist doing glissando. As far as being hired by orchestra it just depends if they have pieces they are playing that require a saxophone. Ravel comes to mind. They are pretty inflexible and won't sub a sax for clarinet. But chamber music wise, they probably would revoice Cello compositions for him.
That was SO beautiful that I changed to my Bose headphones 🎧 and listened a second time. Each time, a part of my soul released stress and relaxed into a quiet, peaceful place of zen and harmony. Thank you both (musicians) for taking me there. I am smiling.
É impressionante o que se pode fazer com um tenor que vai de um som mais grave e encorpado até um som mais agudo e suave! Hilker Ferreira de Almeida Goiatuba-GO.
I want to perform this song some day and have been practicing this song for many months now. now that I'm in college for classical saxophone maybe I can perform it for an audience
yup DVD. it's called "Mastery Clinic for Saxophone". he teaches on tonguing, long tone exercises, running notes, vibrato, portamento and more. i would recommend this to any saxophonist..
Just very beautiful, the music played on tenor saxophone. I'm learning to play tenor saxophone, and I would very much if anyone has this score The Swan, for Tenor Saxophone, please send a private message, I'll be very grateful.
Really Amazing!!! i `d ike to play with this sound!! It seemed to be a Cello.!! i`m from Argentina. Where can i found a DVD of this great artist??. thanks!!!
+Vito la paglia Hmm... I'm sure it is a Selmer S-80C☆. You can see the lump at 0:24. And I bet he uses harrison instead of rico, but I can't clearly say he is.
The funny thing is that, if swans could sing, they would sound like saxophones, though higher-pitched. (Trumpeters sound more like a muted trumpet or somewhere between that and a sax, to my ears anyway.)
tartan11463 Well, it is for me on tenor. But not for me on alto. Or other people on tenor. There's really no best instrument; there's only personal choice.
I wonder how you're doing now? it's been so many years since I first started playing saxophone, maybe like 6 or 7 years? I'm still no where near this tone, and I've made a lot of significant musical achievements.
He sometimes appears in Japanese magazine called "The Sax". The magazine provides us with some information about players on the web (but only available in Japanese).
As much as I love both the saxophone and this piece, I think this performance is lacking in dynamics and vibrato, which are essential components. Nevertheless, his tone is excellent.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When I could hear you play this beautiful song on the Saxophone, I was very moved and the only feeling I felt was of Peace. It's ok..... PEACE is not really a feeling, but that's the only word I can say to convey what I felt! Thanks. Greetings from Brazil. Take care friend!
