Watching this video and they remembering where they were when 911 happen never seems to amaze me because my unit had just got finish doing PT when I heard the news. I was stationed at Fort Carson in 2001. I had already been in the Army for 12 years and was a SSG. I was heading to the barracks to use the latrine and the CQ Sergeant was like did you all see the plane that hit the world trade tower. we were like no. How could we?. we just finished doing a 5 mile platoon run. We were in the day room watching the TV when the second plane hit. Thats when we knew. 4 minutes after that, the CQ phone rang. Threat con delta. all roads went to black. No one leaves post until further instructions. 1SG came in from the Squadron HQ. I remember him saying I need to see all NCOs especially my platoon sergeants. We all knew then. Its funny also mentioning to go see a army recruiter because I was DA Selected for recruiting in 2002, 3ACR didn't deploy to iraq or afghanistan until after I had already left for recruiting school and was assigned to houston recruiting battalion. so I was on recruting from OCT 2002 until OCT 2005. Then I got assigned to 101st ABN DIV ( air assault) and deployed to Iraq OIF 05-07

I am currently active duty Navy, interested in doing an interservice transfer. Is option 40 available to prior service? Also would you recommend someone going to RASP or potentially being in regiment when married?
@TrainLikeaRanger
@TrainLikeaRanger 2 года назад
I do not believe you can get an option 40, but you should have the opportunity to volunteer. I know a ton of guys that were married and although it isn't easy that is definitely not a question I can answer because everyone has different types of relationships all I can say is that people are married and do have fulfilling lives in Regiment. -Jay
