So this isn’t your typical review. I’m assuming if you’re here you’ve already watched other significantly more detailed reviews of this car. These are just some of my experiences and thoughts. Follow me on ig. www.instagram....
man i have 22 type s and I love it, its snowing here rn and it just eats 20cm of snow. SHAWD is really amazing. I been looking forward to get a ktuner this summer
I want to do the same. That’s one of my next mods. No snow down here. I wish though. It sounds like lots of fun. I tried doing donuts the other day in the rain and all it did was a fast circle. Lol
@@TypeS_Rafa No so far it's been great other than this moaning noise it use to do when turning hard left in the morning but that was at about 25k but it since is long gone
I have just began dipping my toe in the tuner community and i bought a tlx s to begin that journey, and maybe this is a dumb question, but the wheels like that isnt that more for drag cars type look? Also what did you do to make it sound like that??? Because idc if your in northern Canada thats the exhaust for me. Any of these mods are able to be reset back to factory if uou have to deal with a warranty issue. Sorry last question do you have a cold air intake and if so what enhancements did you see with it?
Yes it’s a drag car look. It’s just for looks with this car. It being all wheel drive. Exhaust wise all I have is a primary downpipe and secondary cat delete. I’m in Florida. I don’t have a cold air intake I just have a drop in filter. I’m pretty sure it make a bit more power but not something u can feel with that drop in filter that I have from Prl.
Primary catless downpipe. Secondary cat delete basically a pipe. Stage 1 Prl intake. That’s it engine wise. Bc racing coilovers and wheels. Rays gram lights for the auto x days and Kansie Astros for daily driving
IS500 is the laziest Lexus "project" to date. Yes that V8 is masterpiece but you are paying just for that and possible future collectible. Aftermarket seems limited; the Interior is old asf; outside is just like a 350; and the transmission is holding that car performance big time.
My is350 was a lot of fun to drive but it’s very dated on the inside. Last I checked an equally equipped is350 compared to basically a fully loaded Aspec is about 7k more expensive. My Aspec was front wheel drive. It was ok decently fun to drive. If it was sh-awd it would have probably been better. It doesn’t snow in Miami and I originally got that car for my girlfriend.
You can’t go wrong with either I would probably say tlx because it has more space newer interior and a better value. But get sh-awd. Looks wise they’re both beautiful cars.
Yeah I work at ups. Im at the current top pay which is $44/hr. But where I live cost of living is high. So it almost nothing. I don’t know how old you are but I would tell u to invest your money. No matter what u make put some money away. Cars will eventually come. I wouldn’t recommend this car over sticker. Interest rates are still high. Just something to consider if u have the money. The lease program on this is horrible.
Are the tuning capabilities your only reason for choosing the type-s over the is500 or were there other reasons? I am also cross shopping the two, not as concerned with tuning personally.
So that’s kind of a long story.Ill sum it up real quick. I leased and bought multiple cars from both my Lexus dealer and Acura dealer. When I was ready to upgrade to that next “ fast” car. At this point I had an is350 f sport and a tlx Aspec 2.0t. When the is500 came out my dealer would let me test drive it ( I’ve test driven everything lc500 down) they didn’t call me to let me know they had them and 20k over sticker. So almost 90k. Acura on the other hand called me when they had their demo car show up so I was one of the first ones to drive it. I felt Acura valued me as a buyer just that little bit more.
If u have kids and a family tlx is a much more comfortable car than the is500. But rear wheel drive is where it’s at. I miss my is350 sometime because it was pure fun. You can’t go wrong with any of the 2.
Type S at its base price is almost fully loaded also. To get an is500 with the mark levinson, nav, etc you would be about 10 k more expensive before any mark ups.
Yeah for the primary downpipe. For the secondary downpipe no. I had to get a little cat to put between the downpipe and the o2 sensor and it hasn’t came back. I have a video on it
@@TypeS_RafaWhere I'm from here in Jersey that's just a part of everyday life & mine isn't nearly as loud as most it's actually a deep growl, now if I go catless & get a muffler delete now it would considered annoying to some
I like the type s but when has Acura ever made a reliable v6 lol fuck all that give me the 4 cylinder with a turbo. If I got v6 I’m going m340 sounds and goes faster
Bro i love the car but i did my research and man it has too many issues. Mirror puddle lights go out fast. Warping of the rotors. Wheel hub bearings. Aftermarket for parts are very minimal. I mean its amazing but ehh. But ya. The new 2024 has the digital cluster which i dislike. But man maybe one day we can meet up. Im in South Florida (Miami). I work for the competition 😂 postal 😂
Yeah bro… let’s do it. Hit me up on IG. So mirror puddle light… don’t really care those should be replaced under warranty. Same thing with the rotors. Mines haven’t warped I drive my car hard. I’ll look into the wheel hub bearings. I know that there is something going on with the transmission and the transfer case. Remember this is a new platform it’s bound to have some issues
It depends on u. The accord 2.0t has plenty of aftermarket support because it’s so closely related to the civic type r. But this is definitely more power out of the gate and not as much aftermarket support. Reliability being the same with both. To me this has more presence and a much more upmarket car than an accord. IMO If I was in your shoes I would do it.
