He still had some solid Houston years too even got on a Live cover. And the 13 points in 33 seconds gotta throw dat one out there for shooo against the spurs too!!! Dude was a problem yo
Y'all realize that Wade played without a meniscus in one of his knees, right? Like, his ENTIRE career? He also had other injuries that affected his legacy. Wade is a Finals MVP. He was part of 3 championship teams AND it was close to being 4, but LeBron choked in 2011. Lastly, Wade was a much better defensive player than T-Mac. I'll agree, it's close if you forget all that and look at the numbers side-by-side, but no....just no.
Most people don't know T-Mac is technically "disabled." One leg is longer than the other. He wore one shoe with a custom sole to account for the difference in his leg. It is that fact about his legs that led to the back injuries.
Gil talkin bout 2-3 like this T-mac wasnt a whole franchise for 8 straight years (7 all-stars, and 7 all-nba, and leading the league in scoring twice in that span)
@@DeonKelley Having conversations about team accomplishments huh? which playoff series was his team supposed to win or actually have a better team and fail.?
TMac was insane. But KMart makes a point. D Wade was one the greatest shot blocking guards ever. Where D Wade was the greater defender, TMac was the greater offensive player.
@@MichealJames-b7nhis point is exactly Kobe stated Tmac was the hardest to play against. You see how he made Lebron look like a scrub in the All Star game he ain’t doing that to Tmac
The cousins..T-Mac & Vince Carter was so entertaining to watch! You knew at any given time these high flyers was putting you on a poster if you in the paint.
T Mac was legendary in his prime. The only thing he’s missing is longevity. I remember when Kobe became explosive in the 2003 season, TMac was right up there with him
@@BailoBarry-nz4gl yeah in 2001 Kobe was definitely a superstar. But it wasn’t till 2003 that he became the best player in the league. In 2001 AI, KG, Shaq and TD were all still better than him.
Tracy McGrady was flat out better than Dewayne Wade one on one. Wade may have been better from 3 point range. But no one that saw them play was taking Wade over McGrady in a black top pick up game. Gtfoh
@@jc890I believe he’s talking about the eye test between the two of them and that’s why the resumes and longevity don’t matter to him. It could be haterism or frustration when trying to explain himself. T Mac was better than Dwade. He’s just not explaining himself correctly.
And Tmac was better at his peak, which is the point 👉. Basketball 🏀 is a team sport so even if we argue resume, it's a joke comparing players individually. Wade was never better than Tmac.
Peak vs peak? Do you not remember what DWade did his 3rd year in the league. He killed everybody that whole fucking year! We knew he was winning finals that year. Yeah he had a lil help Shaq wasn’t 100% Shaq he was like 75% and they still won just think about that. Macs peak was scoring 13 points in 12 seconds
Wasn’t a great shooter. At all. Just saying. Dynamic player ! One of the most dynamic the game has ever seen and could get to spots on the floor and utilize his length and agility but he wasn’t a great shooter.
Healthy T Mac is my favorite player of all time. As a kid I stopped watching the NBA after Jordan retired, later down the line my family just so happened to have an Orlando Magics game on, T Mac got me back watching. I would take T Mac over Wade, in his prime he was basically Kobe without a Shaq.
And Wade wasn’t? We’re talking about a 6’3-6’4 guard doing spin dunks on 7 ft bigs, lead guard in nba history in total blocks, carried Miami to a ring down in the series averaging 34ppg/7rpg/3apg/2spg/1bpg
People who don’t know about PRIME TRUE T-MAC in Orlando should never speak on that man ever. He was one of the greatest scorers EVER!!! He was unbelievable in Orlando as THE guy. I loved that era. (A.I my all time favorite player but I respect tons of players throughout that timeline)
You don't know either. You must be young! T Mac was selfish, overrated and a choke artist. Oh and a diva! If you watched him play you would know D Wade is definitely better than him! T Mac is the most overrated player in NBA history!
@@daniell5740people forget like that’s just having 4 good years isn’t good enough to be top 5… like me saying Gil is top 10 in his position for his 3 good seasons he had but he balled tf out those 3 seasons and really was the one who started the deep shooting from 3… so you can even argue Gil is more impactful than tmac was for the nba
No pat riley and Eric did stop putting that on d wade my g Being drafted in foundation and having vets around you early ,nutrients you to be an even better player .d ware wasn’t better than bosh melo nor Lebron coming out the draft they were just on worse teams

@@AIRiddleRoomVince carter took Allen iverson 7 games in 2001 even if he wasn’t tmac putting up 28 ppg he could still play a role on a championship team
Skill means nothing what about being great for 8 -10 years like wade was. If was just going talent bol bol is better then most of the NBA u gotta produce that's why numbers matter when comparing
Absolutely not, Wade was way better, more efficient scorer, better defender and didn’t disappear in playoff games like Tmac did, Wade clears and it’s not close
True basketball fans respect T-Mac’s ability. Definitely top ten SG All -Time. But prime healthy T-Mac never won a playoff series. NOT ONE? Put some respect on D-Wade name.
It's a team game... look at who played with Wade, then look who played with T-Mac... case closed. McGrady was better. MUCH more talent... and Dwayne Wade was great.
@@scottgarner8270 not going to let you tell that lie. T-Mac lost to the Baron Davis-led Charlotte Hornets squad in the first round. LMAO so much talent on that squad. Oh okay, then he gets paired with Yao in Houston. He still can't get out the first round. Dallas then the juggernaut Utah Jazz with Boozer and Deron Williams. Stop the cap, legacies are built on winning, not scoring 30 pts on 30 shots attempts.
🤔 that's a really good argument. and T-mac was my guy after Reggie Miller. Lol.....on a side note.....my last two favorite players take up 3 decades just like the Packers
I have been alive long enough to vividly remember both of these guys in their prime. And yes D-Wade has a better resume. But on pure talent and getting to witness that talent at its peak...T-mac is a top 5 SG. If you are using resume to compare the 2, then we cant really compare and I respect that.
Rashad didnt articulate what he was comparing very well. It sounded like he meant peak vs peak who was best in their top form and he has an argument for sure. Idk who was better for sure but id lean TMAC.
I think both should be in the top 5 but tmac was better than wade because Kobe was better than wade and kobe said tmac did everything he did but tmac was just taller and tmac injuries knocked him out early and wade got to play in his prime longer without injuries longer but both should be in the top 5 and both wade and tmac you wont got wrong with either one
Wade maxed out his talent. Came into the league with a bad knee and never complained about injuries. That man played through everything. That is the mark of a great player. Jordan, Kobe, Duncan. All the greats sucked that shit up, we knew they were hurt but they came to play.
@@Somm_RJeven then both had injuries Wade put up the numbers and had a better resume there’d no argument either way besides What if for T Mac love him but it’s the truth
T-Mac's athletic ability and shot creativity was way ahead of it's time he was virtually unstoppable I always thought of him as more of a primary SF than a SG D-Wade was a SG/PG I love both players but this is not a fair comparison imo.
If he was unstoppable what was Kobe? Lol, man I love Mac but how he ain't get not one ring if he that unstoppable & better then Wade? Kobe took a buncha bums to the playoffs how many times, Wade got a ring way before he got LeBron, come on, don't be biased.
One of the greatest guard battles was between T-mac and Mamba. Ultimate respect for one another. Kobe came back and dunked on the whole team very next play, 🐐 like

Great point; as much as i luv the 2guard spot and T Mac's greatness, I'd definitely rank him in the SF category ( pointforward). Even though he had a deep bag of counter handle moves and beyond 3 point shooting range.
Doc Rivers screwed Tmac by not allowing Tim Duncan's wife to be on the team plane... foiled the trade for him. Things like that impacts a player's career tremendously in discussions like this
looking back knowing what we currently know about Tims wife , doc probably saved the entire franchise from running through TD ex wife, she was 1000% for the streets
It's no reason that anybody wife kids or anybody outside of the team should be on the plane. That is they job. Though it comes with rich perks. It's still a job. If u want your family to travel then that player need to accommodate that person on his own money.
T-Mac, Penny, and Hill are some of the best players to ever play the game. Whether they have the numbers or longevity or not. At their primes, and completely healthy they are all time greats
@melvinmelendez6333 didn't mean to overlook him. He's a little before my time. But I know of him, and heard about his game, preinjury. I remember them saying he was a top 60 player. After the nba's top 50 list came out. Add him to the list of nba greats before injuries.
@@hmmok5791 I've watched plenty basketball, probably forgotten more than you've ever learned and played all my life including with multiple future NBA players, but I digress. Hell, Tupac was a better rapper then most mc's are today but is still regardless as a legend today. Why can we not do this for this genre? Cuz Derrick Rose will always be a top 5 guard of all time in my book. TMac as well
They're trying to act like they don't understand what McCants is saying. Resumes are tied into teams (teammates) and health. McCants is looking solely at talent. It's why Grant Hill or Penny Hardaway still gets respect. Careers were affected by injuries, but people knew what it was with them.

@eugenejordan7650 Penny arguably was the1st pass first shooting guard that had extraordinary court vision for play making for both guard spots. Eventhough he switched to Orlando's point guard midway through his rookie year and did great for a 2yr stint before injuries however Penny Flourished better as a 2guard with his lethal midpost game against wings &smaller defenders and his outside shot that stretched the floor.

@@theloxfamily2862Yes he was 😂. NBA is all about who is around you, and T Mac never had the support D Wade did. Both near the top of the league all time though, but even today few are as versatile and as naturally talented at T Mac.
If you put the eye test in and watch them both play and say DWade was superior then you're acknowledging that you never seen tmac play, if not neither and rely on numbers which is beyond misleading. That's like saying Robert Horry is better than Reggie Miller. 🙄
@@younglove3362 watch their highlights. DWade was *far* superior especially at all around play. To topple DWade on all around play you would have to look at Lebron/Pippen territory. Wade is 3rd best SG in history only behind Jordan and Kobe.
@UniversalStand Why would I watch their highlights when I watched their careers. This is the difference between us. You watch highlights, I saw actual games. And Tmac was actually superior. P.S. highlights will still prove Tmac was better. 🙄
T-Mac was Definitely more skilled but with the playoff success of D-wade, he really set himself apart. And yes he played with lebron chris bosh and shaq but with Shaq it was the D-Wade show the entire playoffs and he in my eyes should be considered an even better player because he was able to set ego aside and slide perfectly in his Robin to lebrons batman role. We talk about Steph in the same way when it comes to him and KD. They are better because of it. But T-Mac had a better shot, better handle, deeper bag. Hes probably a sort of carbon copy of Paul George. Tall wing, nice handle, shot and overall bag for his size, good playoff performer in some series and in others he just doesnt show up.
Love the breakdown! Tmac is one of my fav players for sure. So I’d pick him, but hard to argue top 5 or putting him over Wade without including career longevity, accolades, etc like you mentioned. 🤝🤝🤝
What made T Mac better? I think DWade is better than T Mac! He's done it way longer than T Mac. People have to stop saying people r better because their game looks sexier!! It's like, is the prettiest woman the best wife?
I agree that when considering greatness that longevity has to play a part. Otherwise it’s more and bigger “what ifs” when comparing athletes. You have to break it down to each person’s best season or imagine them all at the greatest potential, then rule on it, which is much harder.
