I lost my soul dog who I grew up with about three months ago now. Grief is one of the weirdest things in the world and its so weirdly different with pets. Wishing strength to all those who are mourning. Know that you gave them the best life. Do not look back on things you would have liked to do differently looking back. You always did your best. They loved you so much and you were their home and will always be. Death is one teeny tiny part of the big thing that is life. I know it is truly so hard, especially in the begining, to put the focus on anything but their passing, but think about all the amazing things they experienced in this life

I'M SOBBING. Grace and Mamrie being the truest friends, and being so relatable as the years go on.. it's so touching! I have two pups, one of which is my 16 y/o Yorkie that has also been a rock throughout a rollercoaster of a period of my life, and I fully plan on relistening to this whenever that awful day will come (or it wont bc she's immortal). I'm writing this to also submit an idea for a doggo tattoo! I plan on getting my Yorkie tattooed in a realistic-ish illustration but as a traditional western cowgirl. lol Basically her face with her giant ears poking out of a cowboy hat, but with Annie Oakley from the neck down. I have been following along with both of you for many years, and I remember when Grace first adopted Goose, and her subsequent struggles to attend to Goose's needs as an aggressive dog. It was always so clear the love for Goose was immense! I lost my soul dog 2 years ago, and he was also a very high maintenance creature, though his burden was extreme separation anxiety. Our lives also revolved around him, trying to schedule everything we did to manage never being able to leave him alone unless he was sedated and crated, with zip ties securing his crate because he could and would bend and pry it apart if he found ANY wiggle room. He was infamous but also beloved at our vet's office. He once needed stitches and while waking up from anesthesia, got his jaw stuck between the bars of the kennel they put him in and they had to re-sedate him and dismantle the kennel around him to make sure he wasn't injured (he wasn't, thankfully). He became a water cooler story with an all caps note in his file that he was NEVER to be left unsupervised, even under sedation. A vet tech I had recently met once started telling me about this incident from her POV, not knowing that I was the owner of the star of the show! I understand the complicated feelings of grief and also relief after you lose a pet that could sometimes be a struggle. A struggle we love so deeply, perhaps even moreso because of their needs. I love seeing such loving friendships between women, and the hilarious chemistry you have. The AI scripts were the perfect pick-me-up after having to take on such a hard topic!

I lost my childhood dog back in September. We got him when I was 10 and I was 23 when he died. He was so special, and he totally represented a chapter of my life coming to an end, so I completely get what you mean.

You guys I'm so sorry. I lost my dog Bentley after only 8 years in February to a blood vessel cancer in his spleen. It all happened over a weekend and it's so hard to lose that family member so quickly. My heart is definitely with you Grace and Elliott.

1000% relatable about having a high maintenance dog and thinking their passing might free you. It's such a conflicting thought. I have a chronically ill dog, he requires very specific care and sometimes going for a walk multiple times at night but I wouldn't trade him for the world.
