We're officially going to begin bringing back the TMNT comics and Power Rangers. Be tomorrow or next Tuesday and they'll rotate with each other. Our first attempt at bringing back things non Marvel and DC. (And no, all of you who think TMNT is Marvel, they are not, that was a fun theory that now all non readers think is true. TMNT is IDW and Power Rangers is Boom!)
Will you ever do any invincible comic content? I know there’s other channels with it fully covered already but none of them do it as well as you do and I think you would really love it once you get just past where the show stops in season 1 and they are making season 2 right now it could pull in views when it releases if you already have videos for it
Of course it’s Mikey. It wouldn’t be a Dark Knight Returns-version of TMNT if it wasn’t. Everyone wants it to be Leo or Raph. Especially Raph. But in a dystopia, what would Raph be? More angry and stoic than usual? To show that it’s a dystopia, you have to show that the party dude is old and grizzled. And that there is no pizza in this world.
When vengeance is on the mind, peace is not an option. Consider the punisher. No I don't advocate for vigilanteism but I certainly understand why people take things into their own hands
This was a truly emotionally aimed comic story. Real tear jerker, trying to understand how he could have felt after losing the majority of his family, wanting a way out, and finally finding redemption and peace in the end.
Over and over, you always hear or see Mikey having glimpses of being the strongest out of the TMNT. It's just that he was always the go-with-the-flow party dude.\, but the potential has been there throughout the continuities. Give him PTSD, decades of training, and take away his pizza and sense of humor, this is what happens.
In the 2003 everytime he actually started trying he was an effective fighter beating Raph and winning that tournament. 2012 he straight up beat his mind controlled brothers and splinter. While also consistently beating his opponents first then dealing with the foot soldiers. In the original gore heavy comic he was just limited by his weapons but still killed Foot soldiers faster than Raph.
@@Truejota yeah Leo was my favorite ever since I was a kid watching the 2003 show because of his leadership and responsibility of looking out for his brothers. But I definitely saw the potential in Mikey in being the strongest/talented one out of the four.
holy crap i went in to this thinking "o man this is gonna be epic" But I just found it all to be extremely depressing.. TMNT were my first heroes. It hurt watching them get takin out like that. This story punched kid me right in the gut, and adult me felt every bit of it. :(
You do realize that the turtles started out as a very very dark series right? In the 1980s they only wore red and it was very brutal and bloody. They had to completely remake their image and give them bright headband so that children would love them. This comic is a call back to the original turtle fans like us who have been loving them for 35 years. So the kid in me met them as violent and then watched as they became white-washed and commercialized. So this brought it back to the kid in me. The way it's meant to be done! So good!
being totally blind, I remember so well, when I was growing up, my younger brother would read comics to me like this. This allowed him and I to bond much more than a lot of other siblings, me gaining the knowledge of pop-culture that I would not have otherwise, and him having someone with whom he could discuss comic books with on the same level. Watching this video brings back so much of those old memories, thank you, well done
@@egekazkayas8968 well then let's get some licensing talks going lol. I thought they were. Maybe they were formerly. DC just makes the best animated movies.
I'm glad that they went back to their dark roots. This is how teenage mutant Ninja turtles got their start back in the 1980s. They became a joke or a comedy for a long time in order to become popular. But this was always the heart and soul. The darkness and seriousness behind it all and I'm glad that the audience has grown up enough to really understand
I think they should of kept the identity of the last turtle a secret until the very end, I personally think that would of been more impactful. But overall 10/10! Let’s hope they make a animated movie
Or they should have made you thought it was Leo the whole time, because the Ronin seems much more in line with his character. But then the twist at the end is it's Mikey, which is just sad...
@@PaladinThizz That's true but considering his character arc is go out on my own feet violently beat up everyone tells him he doesn't need to do that they're a team. Until eventually he understands & they stand united against the ultimate threat now he's on his own again but not because he wants to be but because he needs to be is sad to me...
I hope WB/Nick/Netflix start taking the TMNT and IWD comics more seriously and make adult animated content cause The Last Ronin would make an excellent animated series.
Not gonna lie I grew up with teenage mutant ninja turtles and I am in my late 30's and I have adhd and autism and still read the comic's and this series had everything nostalgia overdose for me but this made cry so hard
@@BruhExplosion how am I fake and did you know over here in the UK there under a umbrella where they put neurological faults in categorys when diagnosing. Both adhd and autism come under the same category as each other and why would I lie I prefer the old time and tested method of honesty is the best policy
For anyone wondering how this would look like watch the episode “Same as it Never Was” from the 2003 show. Very edgy, dark, and sad seeing all the turtles older.
Raph was always the angriest but imo Mikey was always the most sensitive and had the most depth of feeling When mikey finally loses his kindness and humor you know shit is about to get real Amazing comic
This is the last video I saw before the Comicstorian's passing. I grew up watching his content. He's irreplaceable 💔 The world of comics will never be the same without him. I pray his family bears this great loss, as we all are. Thank you, Benny. You're my hero.
That was an amazing story! I loved every second of it, the vengeance Mikey needed for his families honor holy shit that was amazing! Thank you for telling this awesome story and portraying the feelings of the characters so well! The ending has me tearing up as I love and will always love The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
Ah ah God it got me right in the feels every time I read it and re-read it it makes me sad that they all died all of the Turtles Master Splinter and Casey all died it really wakes you up and let's you know how long it's been and that nothing Good lasts forever even the Turtles R.I.P. ⚗🧪🧫🤎🐀💙🐢💜🐢❤🐢🧡🐢
It was destined to be Mikey since Master splinter gave them their weapons, he knew each of their short coming and knew who could over come the most over all. My opinion obviously
1st. I like that the last turtle standing is mikey and that everytime this scenario pops out, mykey when he s serious he is more adept than the others 2nd. I love the fact that the series ended with Mikey also dying. heartbrokening but PERFECT 3rd the only reason in every series mykey is the wakest of them all is because he is so laid back. as many said before take away his pizza craving and him focusing a little more on training and he would be the best amongst them. haven't seen the 1900 series but in 2003 he beats raph by exploiting his weakness (temper) in 2012 series splinter shows not sure if its leo or graph that mikey is werry proficient in fighting without thinking and just going with the flow (when he was listening to music and dodging splinter with his eyes closed) and in 2021/22 he still stands with leo (don and graph are dead if I am not mistaken in the movie from 2022) has mystical powers and still goes on despite him looking 5 times smaller than leo (he even has all his limbs while leonardo has a mechanical arm and h e only dies due to unleashing all he has to send casie back in time) 10/10 storry
It's would be really cool if the writer did a version of each brother being the last survivor. It would be great to see how the story would have played out with each and what the brothers would have been like.
Leo would become a wise sage with a painful past. Maybe a teacher with students. Raph, a raging demon - almost like a myth that can no longer tell from right from wrong and fights eternally. Donatello would probably become insane, like a mad scientist "fixing" what can't be fixed. I can't decide if maybe Leo becomes the raging demon and Raph becomes the wise sage to make it more interesting
I stopped collecting comic books in 1989. I heard so many good things about this book series that I had to pick up the entire collecting (wasn't cheap), so my first comic book purchase in 34 years. The books are made in a way that if you open them, they crease down the spine. Thank you for allowing me to keep the collection in "mint" condition.
leo given the blade . balanced with an edge that takes a life and a side that can spare it. donny given something not meant to kill as donny would never have the heart to smart to look past the value if a life. tsai for raph short and and dangerous like his temper and mikey given the chucks. hardest to master. most flashy of the four.
This gives me DBS vibes from the goku black arc, and the 2003 saga where in a dark future shredder conquered the world and killed the turtles supposedly, Its a great combo in my opinion.
Hey yall. Question which was your favorite TMNT series? In terms of cartoons, my favorite one is the 2013 show they did on Nickelodeon. 2003 was pretty cool but they got kinda wacky even for turtle standards lol.
I like that the ronin is Michelangelo. Mikey has always been portrayed as the goofy and funny one out of the turtles and it’s nice to see him being portrayed as more of a badass than a joke.
Names of each chapter: 0:46 = The Ronin's Lament 9:39 = The Bloodiest Anger 19:43 = The Leader's Final Order And Husbands Sacrifice 32:57 = Rain Fire In The Snowy Graveyard 40:36 = Home Of Legacies
Really great reading as a franchise when it comes to quality the Turtles have more than shown when they are at the top of their game they can hang with anyone. This could be an awesome TV series if done really well be ranked among the likes of: X-Men, Turtles 03-07 (pre-Fast Forward), Teen Titans, Spider-Man, Avatar, & even BTAS
That's why I'm here too 😎 I didn't even know a comic book youtube Chanel existed where I don't have to buy them or read lol. Comic audio books are great
The concept for the Last Ronin is really good, it was just executed in such a typical, unsurprising manner. The writing was so amateur. Every issue was Mikey's inner monologue about fighting and sneaking around during his mission. That is literally a majority of the inner panels of this series. The fact that they made Michaelangelo the last turtle alive was so unsurprising. A lot of us called Mikey out to be the mystery turtle before the first issue released. Make the funny, light hearted turtle the one that turns out to be dark and alone later? That was easy to see coming from a mile away. They also revealed the last ronin's identity in the first issue. It would have been so much more surprising and compelling if we found out during the last issue. Instead they revealed the major plot twist at the very beginning. The dialogue throughout this series was exactly what you expect in any modern day comic book story. Nothing really that deep or poetic/moving. Oruko taking over NY was cheesy, along with a robot army. The story is not that dark, and isn't as amazing as the hype sorrounding the premise/story. It was surprising and intriguing to see April and her daughter caring for a new group of turtles that would grow and mutate at some point in the future. That was a nice surprise, and I wonder what they'll do with that. To put it short, the concept of the Hamato clan and Foot clan and a breaking of a truce, which is the catalyst for the Turtles and Splinter and Casey dying, and one Turtle being left is amazing, it was just executed in a typical, run of the mill manner. **6.5/10**
Thank you for this summary. Loved reading the comic book. Such a dope tmnt story ending. Will be reading the Lost seris next. AlsoCan’t wait for the game.
