Thats all its got balls because it dont make much rpms. But it never hit a high note here because 1 it never got good n hot and two its running rich!! But no matter how good its tuned its a giant piston in there its not going to make big Rpms.
I hear ya Jeff getting into 1/5 brings me back to my 2stroke racing career in the 90’s been missing out on this and wasted too many years with 1/10 nitro! Nothing like the smells and sounds of a two stroke for sure! Brings the kid out in us all! Keep up the great work brother always good content here!
Damn that think has some low-end power the g32 I have pulls the 19/55 like a dream it will do about 50mph on those gears and still pulls wheelies not alot but enough for me not to destroy my rig lol

Its pure crap for drag racing it makes no good rpms and were not going to do these engines anymore because they are a waste of time and money sorry brother!
The taylor is very expensive and really I have not seen it make that great of impressive power. The 71 is not done right and you will be disappointed with its performance. How about a TMR 35.2 have you seen mine rip?
Bro the Rovan 71 is poop this one here is built by TMR Performance it actually ran really well. You will need to take out the spark plug and clear all the fuel from the engine. And possibly try a new spark plug. Set you needles on the carb at 1-1/4 out in the low and 1-1/2 out on the high. That should be too rich for that engine but get you started. Since its flooded dont use the choke when you try n start it.
@@eastsiderc how about the small plug at top of cylinder is that to be left pushed in or pulled out? When pushed in or out I noticed it misted some fuel out is that a known item to be defective on those?
@@eastsiderc so I managed to get it on the GoPed scooter … I have disassembled the engine completely and removed all the sludge with fuel and new gaskets, flywheel gap I put back like it was on from factory using a feeler gauge, spark plug gap is set at 0.6mm as per manual ….. as per another comment you mentioned 1-1/4 low and 1-3/4 on high needle, I ran that for engine heat cycling just fine but then I test rode it and it has loud pinging detonation sounding like it’s getting preignition cut or lean bogging or just simply bogging of some sort….. I tried playing with spark plug gap between .5-.7mm and nothing then I double checked and removed the red spark plug boot to make sure wire is connected and nothing…… loss for ideas at this point , I’m running rec90 with VP octane booster and 25:1 premix…… bogging is happening down low like it wants to get onto the first powerband but never does……. there is some black greasy-soot like residue coming off of the cylinder decompression button that sort of bled out onto the cylinder head a bit, any ideas? What should be my next step to check? Would a 1/4 turn cause that to happen on high needle? (Using the 71cc “dragon tail” Rovan exhaust with a custom made by me gasket matched exhaust flange to cylinder head).
Because we cannot guarantee its reliability and it needs so much fixing before it can even be modded that it’s nothing but a waste of time and money because it was clearly not done right!
