This story was so amazing to hear, I'm struggling with urinary urgency/frequency and pelvic pain and have just recently discovered TMS. I feel this must be the answer! It makes so much sense and hearing a story of a recovery from symptoms similar to my own just gives me so much hope and motivation to heal. Thank you Dan and Albert for everything.

So helpful to have someone talk about an over active bladder!! I haven't heard much conversation about this. I have lower back pain and an overactive bladder and it's all the same thing showing up in different parts of the body. The adult diaper industry is making a ton of money because of this nervous system disorder. Fearful thinking is a huge trigger for the bladder!!

I had this exact same thing which came at me in 2021. Lasted for months. It was horrible. I had all kinds of tests done. All tests came back normal. It wasn’t until 2 yrs later I learned this was TMS! Now I know! I’ve had the symptoms come on twice since but I immediately tell my brain ‘hey I know this! It’s fine!’ Within a week, gone!

This was me! Suffered horrifically 10+ years, then fine for 8, then started again in lockdown. Since learning about TMS the game CHANGED! Little niggles now and then that go very quickly. Can sometimes switch off symptoms with my mind within minutes. So night and day compared to before! Loved your story!

@@DaniEla-of4eo it’s taken a lot of practice to get to this point but I will remind myself that what I’m experiencing is TMS and move on with my day and they will dissipate. I find I have to be completely indifferent to the symptoms for it to work. For example I’ll say “fine be there, in fact get worse if you want, I don’t care”. It loses its power. I wish I’d know about TMS in the beginning, its been life changing.

oh boy, frequent urination is one of my main TMS symptoms and I've had it for years!! watching this video brought up a memory for me when all this started and it was tied to some shame and guilt that I felt over a certain event. Stressful time. I was able to sit with myself today and forgive myself for that. Thanks!!

This interview has me thinking that my diagnosis of prostatitus a year or so before my hip and groin and leg symptoms developed was likely the beginning of TMS which developed at the same time as IBS-D. Wow, my GP in Georgia was kinda baffled back then that both came on simultaneously. (Prostatitus and IBS-D) I got the camera in the bladder - not fun and a Blood PSA test- all normal. Then after a year in 2016, they resolved and then my current symptoms severe hip groin, leg pain and outer ears that scab up and bleed without diagnosis, started soon thereafter. It’s as though the brain said “well, if that didn’t take you out and cause you to eventually close your business and sell your house to eliminate your mortgage, then I’m bringing out the big guns”. Sure enough the prostatitus cleared up as well as IBS-D and the more severe symptoms ensued that I’m dealing with today still although I’m finally getting blips off symptom free days now after embracing TMS in dec of ‘20. This video has sure helps me to connect even more of “the dots” thanks guys!👍

This was a good story. Every time I listen to these stories I get so angry because so many are needlessly suffering and go down the wormholes everyone does with doctors, specialists and many others that “think they know” what you are suffering from. I cannot even express the agony I went through with my symptoms. I just kept saying “I don’t understand how this happened to me when nothing happened to me”. Was always working out and healthy and then couldn’t walk, sit or stand and in misery all the time and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING helped ease the pain!! Keep on getting this message out, Dan!! I am free of pain now. Still working on some symptoms, but I’m living a full life now and working out now. You and others gave me my life back!!❤️

God this is EXACTLY what I have been going through. I have had an anxiety disorder for 2 years where I had gotten past so many symptoms that scared me. Once I conquered 1 symptom another would start. I have now been stuck with CPPS the past 8 months or so. It has scared me the most. The constant urge to pee and constipation from my pelvic muscles tensing. I went to doctors and specialists and they found nothing. All I got was a recommendation for physical therapy.

I usually don’t comment. But thank you Dan for having Albert. Albert, you are incredible and did a great job explaining your symptoms. Until today I understand why I had a panic attack on the highway in January. I’m healing amazingly, but left PT and are praying with a journal and Father God Yahweh is answering my questions. Who am I mad at, what am I afraid of? Whom am I afraid of? The Boundaries Book by Henry Cloud has been very helpful. Speaking up and standing for myself has been a conflict since a child. I am learning to love as the Bible commands…communicate my boundaries with others respectfully and freely:)

Glad you enjoyed the video. The info below will get you started quickly. Foundational Information: Understanding Pain Watch the video at: PainFreeYou.com Watch the video about Perceived Danger Pain: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tnU6KBAv5fg.html - this explains SO much of what is going on. Next Level: Determining if your pain is from TMS/PDP: Take the pain test: DanBuglio.com/paintest - a score over 29 means you have TMS / Perceived Danger Pain. This also means you CAN end your symptoms. Do the FIT assessment below. If you answer yes to even one of the criteria, it is very likely your brain creating the pain based on perceived danger. FUNCTIONAL: -Symptoms began without a physical precipitation -Symptoms persist after an injury has healed (3-6 mo) -Symptoms are in a distribution pattern that is symmetric -Symptoms occur on one whole side of the body or occur on half of the face, head, or torso -Symptoms spread over time to different areas of the body -Symptoms radiate to the opposite side of the body or down a whole leg or arm -Symptoms that occur in many different body parts at the same time -Symptoms that have a quality of tingling, electric, burning, numb, hot or cold INCONSISTENT: -Symptom shift from one location in the body to another -Symptoms are more or less depending on the time of day. Or they occur first thing in the morning or in the middle of the night -Symptoms occur after, but not during, an activity or exercise -Symptoms occur when one thinks about them or when someone asks about it -Symptoms occur when stresses increased or one thinks about stressful situations -Symptoms are minimal or nonexistent when engaged and joyful or distracting activities, such as when on vacation -Symptoms are minimal or nonexistent after some kind of therapy, such as massage, chiropractic, Reiki, acupuncture, an herbal or vitamin supplement TRIGGERED: -symptoms are triggered by things that are not related to the actual symptom, such as foods, smells, sounds, light, computer screens, menses, changes in the weather -symptoms are triggered by the anticipation of stress, such as prior to school, work, a doctors visit, a medical test, a visit to a relative, or a social gathering; or during those activities -symptoms that are triggered by simply imagining engaging in the triggering activity such as bending over, turning the neck, sitting or standing -symptoms that are triggered by light touch or innocuous stimuli, such as the wind or cold Moving forward: Free general recommendations. Many around the globe are getting well with just my free content. Now you know what is causing pain. Next step is beginning to TEACH the brain to turn it off. Since perceived danger is what turns pain on, teaching safety is the solution. This vide gives you many examples of messages of safety. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5SsKnAgAvnY.html Begin to watch my free daily coaching videos at DansRU-vid.com. Fantastic story thank you Albert and Dan. I love the success stories so much. I am curious about what may have brought on Albert's symptoms as he didn't share what may have brought on the stress. I guess sometimes it is stress and not from deep rooted horror stories. For me fear and anxiety keep mine going along with plenty of clenched muscles ready to fight the paper tiger. Sooooo much excruciating pain in my butt and back shoulders neck and has and sometimes my legs now. You could snap me in half as so rigid. When am I going go to let go and relax? Seems impossible for me as on red alert all day and in the night.

@PainFreeYou
@PainFreeYou Год назад
May have things go away gradually, sometimes more suddently. Then they make come back, and then settle down again. It's an up and down journey. As long as we keep on responding to the symptoms with messages of safety, they will eventually settle and no longer come back. Love the interview! This helps me a lot, because I have virtually the same symptoms as Albert (I am a guy), although it started with back pain, then shifted to pelvic pain and urinary frequency, and skin problems as well. How much time passed between the time Albert discovered Sarno and he largely got better? Thanks.
@PainFreeYou
@PainFreeYou 2 года назад
I don't recall the timeframe. However I can say with certainty, everyone is different. Why? Our experiences that lead us to the pain and our ability to implement the TMS approach will all be different. I have seen people get much better in weeks and some take years and not make much progress. Why? Because some are not able to calm the fears and let the brain and nervous system calm down.

Very interesting to make the connection with urinary retention (at my worst I counted over 20 trips to the rest room in one night after going to bed, causing a worsening in insomnia) and urgency; worse at night. As always; went to every doctor in the county, had every test and showed no reason for it. Many doctors did not even believe me after the tests showed up no retention until I had the test where they go in and it was like a popped ballon; the doctor was shocked. No medications worked. Because of my other symptoms which included a foot drop and nerve pain; I was being tested for MS; but a brain MRI and spinal tap ruled that out; I even had two muscle biopsies. They did do a cystoscopy and found some scar tissue due to many uti's and I had urethral stretching done twice (i am a female) which actually helped but did not elevate me of it but atleast I could now go to the grocery store and doctor's appointments in less agony. It was very painful. Oh and I was later diagnosed with cystitis due to the burning and perdental nerve entrapment (sorry I think I spelled that wrong). Sorry so graphic but I wanted to explain incase anyone else is going through it; yes you can go through all of that and it can certainly be TMS. I no longer have this issue unless I go through a flare up.

Because I enjoy exercise, especially Egoscue with how it makes my body feel functional.

Exercise is a wonderful thing. The intention and belief behind it is more important than what you are doing. If you believe posture is creating the pain, then that does not line up with TMS theory. If you are trying to fix your posture to fix your pain, the brain may keep the pain going. I cannot tell you what to do, but for me, I had to quit all physical treatments before I could get well. That included stretching, massage, physical therapy.

Can you tell me did you stop going to the toilet? This is my story. Or did you go every 5 min? This is my struggle. I know about the brain and everything but I don’t know what is have the do with that struggle. I don’t want to go every 5 min anymore. And don’t want to do the training 1 hour, 1 hour 30 min blabla. But my urge is realy strong. And there is nothing in. Sometimes I feel the fear, but not so hard anymore.

Last two years I am suffering for frequent urination with persistent microscopic hematuria with high scale. I never feel any pain. I feel some discomfort in my penis and frequent urination for few hours then the symptoms gone and then return after 10 to 15 days later. This is my problem ct scan normal cytology once showed atypical cells and I have persistent microscopic hematuria. Doctor says I have CPPS on the basis of ct and cystoscopy. But I have doubt because pain never I feel and I have persistent hematuria what investigation to be done for future??? Hematuria can be a symptoms of CPPS.

I am not a doctor, so I cannot advise what medical investigations can or should be done. Take the pain test to see if your symptoms are behaving like TMS or a structural challenge. DanBuglio.com/paintest

Solution is all the same. Dial down the fear and teach the brain safety. Try to remain calm and not judge this as some horrible thing. Messages of safety whether you are peeing or not. With fear and attention, any sensation can become learned or persistent. If the UTI has been resolved, the solution is less fear, less attention. The concepts for your symptom are identical for those with other symptoms or even pain.
