tumblr: isakvaltersnake.tumblr.com my love letter to this perfect show that gave us so much joy right when we needed it the most. show: ted lasso (apple tv) song: to build a home - the cinematic orchestra program: final cut pro X
To take what was a comedic advertising campaign 6 years ago and turn it into a heartfelt, emotional TV show with actual quality takes a heck of a lot of talent. They did a phenomenal job with it.
“Because I promise you, there is something worse out there than being sad, and that is being alone and being sad. Ain’t nobody in this room alone.” -Ted Lasso
I’ve watched S1 twice through and it just gets better each time. This should be required viewing for everyone out there. We might all just be a little kinder if we took some lessons from Coach.
Ted Lasso is the antithesis to 2020. Beautiful, caring, patient, honest, real. It’s what I always wanted church to feel like. I left every episode wanting to be my best self.
The fact that he doesn’t swear one time right up until the end... That’s such a great little detail, that conveys so much emotion and power with just one word. Makes you think about the way we talk. Ted is just so intentional with his words.
“It ain’t always easy Trent. But neither is growing up without someone believing in you.” A whole new appreciation for that line when you find out his father passed when he was 16. Genius writing.
Every sentence is a masterpiece, do you remeber in the first Ep. when Rebecca is showing Ted the club, at the wall with photos, Ted signals one and says "Oh, this guy looks like a good times" and Rebeca says that that's his ex-husband, Ted goes "Well, I've come to learn that good times are not always good times" man, he was talking about He and how hw marriage was falling apart, He being the way He is. Fucking hitted me like a truck, had to watch 3 times the series, but every timed I did I found more and more layers to EVERYTHIN.
@@ricoselkum nah, that's not right at all. First you are misquoting the sentence. Second, he made an honest mistake because he was saying Rupert looked like a fun person and after Rebecca identifies him as her ex husband, he quickly replies that to nullify the compliment as to make it less awkward.
Couldn't agree more. Then the way they had ted pivot and address how we discuss mental health in sports instead of simply addressing his own attack. Brilliant.
It felt so real, I couldn't stop crying after finishing the episode, I try to be optimistic most of the time but most times all those feelings are just overwhelming. Hope we all have people around us to comfort us.
"He's here, he's there, he's everyf-in where!" Loved that scene. Don't think Roy ever knew how close the fans felt to him, how much he meant to them until that moment and it humbled him. Very few shows or movies ever capture that type of moment properly.
And then right after that magnificent scene, you get the one with Keely in the locker room, where he's using that anger as a defense mechanism and she just walks right through it and holds him. I was finished. Man, this show is really something special..
@@coreyjudd4676 That scene shook me to my core, I've pushed people away because of anger and / or pride and regretted it, the fact that Keeley knew he actually did want and need it, despite how he felt about it, is absolutely brilliant and it's why Keeley is SO good to the show, she's like Ted but in her own way, always uplifting people. Juno Temple is a gosh darn national treasure
Same, I've literally been saying that exact line over, just add the football: when I saw the advert years ago with Jason, as snl isn't very big in my country, only males news when a pop star does something in the show to make news, I was telling everyone about hire funny 2 seperate sub 10 min vids were, I got looks. So when I heard this was going to be a full tv sure I thought great, but worried it might be a flop, well it wasn't quite as comedic as I thought, but still bloody brilliant
I loved the scene in the pub when Lasso plays darts. What a great motto for life: "Be curious". It is definitely lacking in today's world. I hope Ted Lasso can help others to "be curious".
Maybe it sounds stupid but when I heard Ted saying "Dont be judgemental, be curious", I really started to think about that. Thank you coach. You've turned another man to a better man.
Who would have thought that in the bleakest of years ever to end a decade in recent memory, they’d release a show about a yank managing an English Football team with so much heart, that in spite of everything that this year has made you feel, you’d some how manage to consider feeling hope. f**k 2020! Onward and Forward!
2020 wasn’t that bad. Yes covid was bad but the rest has been pretty good. Don’t people remember people saying 2019 was the worse. Every year people like to complain. This show should show u to always live on the bright side of life. No world wars happened. North Korea finally found some peace with the west.
I adore the show but I can't get over how beautifully this was edited. It gave me all the feels of the show, and at the end with the blackout gosh... Somebody is talented AF
Some people watch this and say, hey that was pretty good, and go about their day. Others watch this and it rips through them like a storm, filling them with both sorrow and joy at the same time, fully invested in the emotions of it all....these are the people I want to surround myself with in life. Empathy and compassion is a helluva thing of beauty.
I started watching this after I saw a clip of the "Danny Rojas - Football is life" from the series. Finished the whole season in one go. What a beautiful tv show.
I forget what I was watching on RU-vid and it lead me to Ted Lasso quotes, then heartfelt stories, then me watching the series. I am so glad I am able to enjoy this and hopefully everyone will get to enjoy this great show.
I rarely ever leave reviews on anything, much less on RU-vid. However, this particular video gets played anytime I need a "moment." I think most folks understand that moment all too well, even if they don't admit it. That part of you that has emotions swelling and building and you feel like you can't contain it so it has to emanate somehow, somewhere, in some way. This video (and by far the show as a whole) offers that to us. It gives us a chance to let the pressure off of what has been a roller coaster of a year. What this video does is take something that is essentially comfort food entertainment and elevates it into a fine dining experience. The type of thing you tell someone about after a vacation. "We had this incredible meal..." I hope everyone who watches this and Ted Lasso continues to make the world a better place. Remaining emotionally healthy amidst chaos is never easy. Even for a character on a show. Bless you for making this and I look forward to more from you in the LassoVerse :)
I know this is an emotionally cut compilation of some of the show’s best moments, so it’s clearly going to skew my feelings towards it, but this may have convinced me that Ted Lasso is the best show I’ve ever seen.
As a writer, I constantly have to remind myself that you can't have 'perfect' characters. (That's the endlessly hopeful romantic in me writ large. Well, writ-by-keyboard.) And when I first started binge-watching the series, I thought that this 'unsinkable Molly Brown' guy was going to be just that: perfectly optimistic, perfectly kind, perfectly wise. Which, in the end, he is. But the writers have managed to create a character that's not mawkish at all, not at all 'twee', not 'unbelievable'. He is the exact opposite of the current global antagonist, and as a result, is so, so refreshing. And bonus marks for having a man who can make great shortbread. Especially a non-Brit. (My late mom, originally Welsh, claimed that _my_ shortbread was better than hers. So I guess if a Canuck can excel at baking them, so can a transplanted Yank.)
Character opposites build story. Ted Lasso really drove that home. Amongst other things. Perfection is unknowable. Progress is better than never starting at all. You'll get there.
The clip (in my opinion) incapsulates all the best parts of the series. The saddest part of finishing this is never being able to recreate the emotions of when you saw it for the first time.
As a hockey coach and as a divorced parent, I can relate to this show, many of the coaches that I coach with watch the show, even talking to coaches from other teams, they use references from the show like “Be a goldfish” I’m a better coach and better parent and person because of this show, if this is the last season, thank you to the writers and everyone involved, this show has had a huge impact. Thank you. Come On Richmond!!
I have made it a rule in life NEVER, to make comments on public RU-vid videos.... but today I break that rule.... because watching this after watching all 10 episodes..... THAT... was Bloody BRILLIANT!!!
This is an absolutely perfect tribute to the show. I just finished watching the first season and raced to RU-vid to find something more. This is the more I was looking for. Thank you so much for putting this together.
This show surprised the hell out of me. Went into it expecting a typical Jason Comedy and while it has moments of that. It's an extremely real and emotional show that's full of heart and lessons. Truly can't wait for season 3
I binged watched 3 season in 5 days... Ahh.. It feels like a family will miss them all specially beard i loved him the sidekick everyond need in their life whether they deserve them or not # believe
I thought it looked sort of dumb but my wife started watching it so I did, too. Feel exactly as you do. It is a beautiful, heartwarming show. Rarely care about characters on a show but these characters demand that you get involved and pay you back with depth and breadth. Shocked that something this good came out in this era. Cheers!
It was not this particular video that made me Ted Lasso, but others....I,am so grateful that I watched this show, it is amazing and it came at the perfect time in 2020.
Sorry for the rant, but I just finished the show. I gotta say, its so rare for a show that makes a sport its main medium divert from making the story about winning the big game and instead put more weight into showcasing the idea of creating a home in a world so far from the one we've always known, the importance of creating a families in that new home, and the experiences of conflict, forgiveness, and growth with those families. And oh god the last few episodes. Often times, shows put too much into the last episode that you just get lost in things. Not this show though. They did such a wonderful job of, not only easing us into the ending, but also by making sure every character got to say their peace and complete their arc even without Ted being next to them the entire time. Also, it may not be a popular opinion, but im kind of glad they didnt try to make romance a huge deal despite a few episodes being so drenched in it. I feel like sneaking a romance for Ted with anyone would've cheapened the shows idea of love being important but that it doesn't always have to be the romantic kind. I may not agree with the final call Ted made, but in the words of Ted himself, the story was "never about him." Such a subtle way to hammer it in for audiences. I cant wait for the day the show fades a little in my mind so I can rewatch it. Thank you Jason for this masterpiece. and sorry RU-vid for the unorganized rant.
What an amazing montage. What a series. "There's something worse than being sad, and that's being alone and sad. Ain't nobody in this room alone". That's powerful man, that's powerful". This quote and "Be curious, not judgmental" should be in everyone's mind all the time. Thank you Jason, Brendan and everyone involved for creating such a wonderful masterpiece.
It just now dawned on me the payoff in Season 3 of Jamie getting the Colonel army man. Colonels are the highest field-ranked officer. They marshal the troops, while in battle being the central hub of information, not unlike the central person within the Total Football system. My god. They really did write a perfect show.
i consider myself quite the critic because i don't like wasting my time on shows. I thought this show was going to be some goofy fun going into it and it ended up being the most inspiring show i have ever seen. Its been 4 days since ive finished and im still on a high. great video too btw
By FAR the best show on TV in 2020! And I want to buy some AFC Richmond FOOTBALL GEAR!!! And I have watched this video every day for the past week or so, it is SOOOOOO good and so indicative of what a great show this is....gives me a good feeling.....just watching someone that is that positive.
Sad the show is over, but it's going down as one of the best ever. This video is still my favorite, it really captures the heart of what Ted Lasso is about.
Idk who you are, where you're from, or anything else about you, but thank you so much you beautiful bastard. This encompasses this beautiful show so incredibly well. Thank you thank you thank you.
Man, thanks to this video I saw one of my favourite moments of the season. When I first watched this I tore through it, and completely missed the very ending of episode 9, after Roy takes his demotion to Second Team. I absolutely love the moment when he is alone and walks up to touch the BELIEVE sign. Awesome!
I think the appeal of this show is the underlying current of it. It's really all about people who grow to love one another despite their differences and do their best to see their friends succeed in everything they endeavour to do. I think it's a lesson we could all learn from.
That the actors and writers and staff produced a lesson in life for all of us at a time when we have lost that emotional feeling for each other, not an "appropriate" feeling but just a gut sense of caring. Tom Byrne
i was so curious about what you'd do with what I consider a very melancholy song vs a pretty relentlessly cheerful show- I didn't know how they'd really fit together. but this is just as magnificent as everything you do! /you find all the best moments in the show to pull from and create something with a super different tone in the best possible way because of it and i'm genuinely obsessed
What a beautiful thing. You've written a beautiful love letter. I've never felt the way I do about Ted Lasso about another television show. Thanks for sharing.
Not a single misplaced or gratuitous word in the whole gosh darn series. Every sentence carefully crafted and acted with a purpose. Arguably the finest series in the history of television. A roller coaster ride from start to finish. Thank you so much to all the talented people involved in the making of this incredible show.
I got round to this show late and im so thankful i did as its a masterpiece honestly, sad, funny, human, people each with their own crosses to bare trying to make their way through life.
To say I give two shit's about professional sports is a understatement, and I didn't want to watch a show about bunch of spoiled jocks-man-babys and a jerk of a American coach, but I decided to watch a episode to scoff at the entitlement of the characters. But man was I ever wrong! I fell in love with Ted lasso the team even Boss lady Rebecca. No one was a paper cut out character all had hidden depths and was relatable. I now sing the praises of this show to every one I can.
I’m crying right now at one of the lowest points in my life and this show means the world to me. Thank you to everyone involved this show has saved so many lives and provided hope to so many at the worst of times.
I began watching Ted Lasso by accident, really and I had no idea how it would inspire me and impact me in my life during these exceptionally difficult times. This Homage encompassed everything that made this series so, very special. Funny how things come into your life when you least expect it. I know it sounds strange that a show can make this much of an impact... But I am living proof. It does.
hi this was genuinely the best fan edit i’ve ever seen. i never understood the phrase “comfort show” till i watched this show. the black screen at the end of your edit was perfect because i had to stare at my reflection as i’m bawling my little eyes out omg
