MIKE OLDFIELD, VANGELIS, JEAN MICHELLE JARRE........NOWADAYS.......OH MY GOD... WHAT HAPPENED? THERE IS NO MUSIC LIKE THE 70' OR 80'.... AND I AM 25 YEARS OLD...
I mean, just go off RU-vid and to your local basement venues, small or big, there is still a lot of music being done heavily inspired by 70s and especially 80s music had a bit of a revival in the past few years. Surfer Rock is currently being explored again as well. You could also check stuff like "the Orion experience". That music is still being made, it's just a bit more effort to listen to new bands 😊
Hello, hope you are doing well. How is your musical taste now, being 35 y.o.? Hope u still enjoy great musicians like Vangelis & J.M. Jarre. I also recommend you to check out Deep Forest, Tangerine Dream, and Hanz Zimmer as their music is somewhat similar
@@vzlomrostaHello sir! Thank you for asking. Yes 10 years after this message I continue listening more Mike Oldfield, more Vangelis, more Jean Michelel Jarre and I found more interesting old songs, albums… and I think this is not going to change during the next 10 years hahaha. Best regards sir
Taking on water, sailing a restless sea From a memory, a fantasy The wind carries into white water Far from the islands Don't you know you're... Never going to get to France Mary Queen of Chance will they find you Never going to get to France Could a new romance ever bind you Walking on foreign ground like a shadow Roaming in far off territory Over your shoulder stories unfold You're searching for sanctuary You know you're... Never going to get to France Mary Queen of Chance will they find you Never going to get to France Could a new romance ever bind you I see a picture By the lamp's flicker Isn't it strange how Dreams fade and shimmer Never going to get to France Mary Queen of Chance will they find you Never going to get to France Could a new romance ever bind you I see a picture By the lamp's flicker Isn't it strange how Dreams fade and shimmer Never going to get to France Mary Queen of Chance will they find you Never going to get to France Could a new romance ever bind you Never going to get to France Never going to...
Jeeeeeee I was searching for this song for ages!!!! I heard it when I was a child and I fell in love with it... too young to know ... maaaan!!! That's one that kills me inside... how many memories!!! Thanks Mike Oldfield!!!
Oh Dios me he vuelto loca buscando la canción.
Sure!!! the early stuff was good of course but nothing compare to such a voice on such a melody!! It's hard for me to chose between this one, "moonlight shadow and foreign affair" anyway..
It's amazing how this particular music can stimulate my imagination and make me feel like I'm at that time and in that place. Mike Oldfield accomplish that, through the chords and harmonic sounds, he creates a beautiful melody that opens the portal of our history.
Was hörst Du denn so??????? Lol. :-)))) Natürlich höre ich ebenfalls etwas, was in den Heutigen Charts gespielt wird, dass ist nur nicht all zu viel. MG Andreas
LG Andreas
I tried too...I was 6 or 7..and couldn't remember the words..one of these days,I heard It on the radio..and got It!what a satisfaction..it makes me cry, reminds me of my mum that I lost..80ies forever xxx
In memoria anno 1558. Child' Wedding between François II (one of the Last Valois) and Mary QofS. Only 16' for Mary and 14' for François (died 1660 of ears'disease) , all that in full religion'wars in France and a vengeful Élisabeth I. Mary was exiled in France from 6 years old to 18' and seemed in love with François. Tragic and Romantic history.
Actually it's a song about Mary Queen of Scots... She never got back to France, she was executed by her cousin Queen Elizabeth 1st for treason. How could a Queen of Scotland commit treason against England? Obviously that wasn't a problem for the English...
when I first heard Moonlight Shadow, I thought it was a Mary Hopkin comeback, but Maggie is Scottish not Welsh ~ weird. This song and Fotheringay by Fairport Convention inspired by the ill fated Queen of Scots
"Moonlight Shadow", "To France", and "Family Man"... I always liked these three songs, and really thought 'Mike Oldfield' was this singer... :$ for a long time (and really got me quite curious the '70's "The Exorcist"'s Soundtrack... was comoposed by them.)) Later knew Mike Oldfield was indeed the composer&musician itself, and understood why I couldn't find she herself (which I recently knew was called Maggie Reilly, a collaborator, not the 'vocalist') as a whole part of 'Mike Oldfield'..)
