Loving your trip. I had to laugh out loud about the food situation in Telluride. I stopped in there a year ago on my motorcycle and found the same thing. I actually found normal food at the one gas station on the way out town.

Oh I love this one! My father was in the air force and we lived in Colorado Springs when I was a little girl. I LOVED it! It was the saddest time to me when we moved to Alabama...I am a mountain girl through and through:) I still have vivid memories of camping, hiking horseback riding and ice skating...and Pikes Peak being I our backyard.

I'm guessing that his driver's license expired on his birthday, which is why the officer wished him a happy birthday. I looked it up, and New York State driver's licenses do expire on your birthday.
