Fun fact: When the animators made the soldiers they weren’t sure how they would walk so they got planks of wood, glued shoes on both ends and walked around the room, getting an idea of how to animate the movements.

@@anyathepanther7977 It's my dream!!!!! Watching movies like Jaws, E.T. Jurassic Park and The Lost World, with life like animatronics, life like robotic creatures and you have to pretend that they will kill you and you have to run around screaming..... or be amazed by them!!! Also action flicks like FAST & FURIOUS Watching things blow up, cars getting destroyed, looks freaking amazing!!! Back then, when the majority of the time, they did use practical effects! Now it's all green screen and CGI!!!

It's long been a fan theory that Sid was the victim of an abusive father, explaining why his father is never once mentioned, why Sid has the locks on his door, his dark room decor, and his violent tendencies.

I mean, in the scene immediately before the one where Buzz finds out he’s a toy, we see what is clearly Sid’s dad, with all evidence that was presented certainly showing him to be an alcoholic.

The part where Woody uses Buzz's screen to light the match, is considered by some professionals to be some of the best writing done in cinema history. Toy story is good example of what happens when you mix ground breaking techniques and good writing together.

I can’t help but feel bad for Sid, like how attentive are his parents if they’re buying that stuff for him and his dad was passed out in the middle of the day surrounded by cans so possibly an alcoholic. I wonder if he has all those locks on his door because his dads an angry drunk, but I’m probably looking to far into this lol.

8:54 No, in this case it was. He just wanted Buzz to get stuck behind the dresser so Andy would have to pick him instead. Knocking him out the window was not part of the plan at all, it just happened to play out that way.

It is actually proved that why he is this way is neglect from parents. Those cans by Sids dads are actually secretly beer but since it’s a Pixar film it looks like pop his dad is a raging alcoholic, and his mother doesn’t really like to be around the kids reason why he’s allowed to buy whatever he wants.

The yell that Buzz makes when he's knocked out the window is the famous Wilhelm Scream from Distant Drums and have been in a lot movies as an easter egg, such as Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones and even Disney's Aladdin.

In the other toys defense, Woody doesn't exactly come out of these situations looking good. Even if he didn't mean to knock Buzz out the window, he did intentionally try knock him behind the desk and them seeing Woody holding Buzzs dismembered arm in Sids room then later him kicking RC off the moving van with an evil laugh doesn't help either, so i can understand how they'd think Woody has gone mad with jealous rage.

Two things that stood out to me right away that I didn't notice the first time I saw this movie. Is when Buzz got knocked out the window it was a Wilhelm scream and the gas station was owned by Dinoco. The same gas company that is in cars.

As you watch more Pixar, keep an eye out for the Pizza Planet truck. It makes an Easter egg appearance in most, if not every Pixar film. Also, their "good luck charm" John Ratzenberger (voice actor for Hamm the Piggy Bank here) does at least a bit part in every movie.

Is called the “Willhelm Scream” (I may not have spelled it correctly, but I think I’m right, it’s pronounced the same way as how I spelled it.). That yell is pretty much in everything, if you look it up.

Wow it's a lot of memories who came back (I'm born in 1993). I remember after seeing this film, I always respect my toys and write my name on my Woody's boot. If you didn't understand the référence when Buzz speaks about " drinking tea with Marie-Antoinette and her little sister " because of the dolls without head, Marie-Antoinette was the wife of the king Louis XVI of France (my country) who was beheaded during the French Révolution.

Tell that to Columbia Records in the 40s, when they tried to market the LP as "unbreakable". 11:08 I'll admit, the way I was introduced to skulls/skeletons as a kid was through the CD-ROM game _My Amazing Human Body_ , which was hosted by a friendly skeleton character (with eyeballs), so this symbolic shot of zooming in on Sid's T-shirt always flew over my head as a kid; I thought it was just a weird/random choice. And with today's generation growing up with _Coco_ , I'm sure this will fly over even more kids' heads.
