She's incredible! Recently discovered her singing with Comatose Brothers Comatose? (cross out the one that doesn't fit) doing a Neil Young cover. I'm Canadian and have to say "Sorry, Neil...you've fallen to #2". Just watched Tear My Stillhouse Down...so so good! Sooooo good!
Not only is the whole band so talented but they also know how to blend their talents. It's clear from their concerts that they enjoy playing with each other, enjoy each other, and respect each other - added bonuses. Wonderful music, wonderful people - great combination.
The heartbeat running through this song made mine race to catch up with it. The interlude felt like you were all one entity hovering above the ground. I keep finding my new favorite AJ Lee & Blue Summit tune each time I dive into your catalog.
Ditto, ditto, and ditto ... especially about the interlude: the camera catches so well the fun they are having, and their own appreciation of the "one entity" -- it is a magical break.
The sound is amazing. Each instrument is so clear.. The space between notes is just so crisp. No one overplays or underplays, and everything supports the vocals. Mandolin, violin, and guitar trio in the middle is beautiful. Bass and guitar are solid. I especially liked the opening guitar upstrokes which set piece in motion. Very nice!
Blond mandolin is sounding so great ! All of you performed perfectly! All of you have to be so happy when you have recorded the best effort yet ! My ears like ! Super session as usual!
Wow. What a beautiful song this is. The instrument only part that led to you singing again (from 4:20 till the end) gave me chills for 30 seconds. Beautifully filmed, too. So lovely. Bravo.
They’re so great! Great musicians and such musicality from each one. And AJ has the most beautiful voice I’ve heard in a long time. Also, she’s THE BEST SONGWRITER I’ve heard in a long time. Is Paul McCartney her dad? 🤔
Please make another video. I'm living in Vietnam and I don't get to listen to great live Bluegrass or any other genre of American music anymore. All I hear is K-pop and Top 40 type pop and it's all pretty bad, and sad. It would be great if you came to Vietnam and played. I know it's unrealistic, but I dare to dream.
HeYnOW Hearing this is bliss I hope that "Santa " From NJ Is Well. Be kind, don't let the face of evil fool you Recognize whos' projecting the truth of their own guilt on to those who it would be better to follow than ignore .....
You know folks...This should teach us that blue grass doesn't have to be contest to see who can play the fastest. Sometimes you need to slow down, and make every note count so it adds to the over all effect of the music.
Why in hell are they not included somewhere in the upcoming Grammys? I realize the category is (sinfully) very limited in the bluegrass category and only a little broader in the Americana category - but they are masters in their craft! Absolutely. So what do they have to do? Be totally commercial and signed to some huge record company? I will admit that there are deserving nominees in the album of the year category, and some of them are already legendary but not nearly as skillful as AJLABS. SHIT, AJ’s songwriting alone should put her in there, not to mention that every single band member’s virtuosity should qualify each of them as well. The dynamite breaks, the harmonies, the cohesiveness as a unit, and their flawless execution make them outstanding. I’ve listened to and tried to play a lot of bluegrass since 1970, and there’s almost nothing that I can remember that evokes so much emotion as these guys do. They’ve been together for going on 9 years, and they’re still not properly recognized. I guess you can’t blame Keith Whitley, Marty Stuart, Chris Stapleton, etc, etc for leaving bluegrass. I just hope they get their just due before frustration overtakes them and pushes them out. Just know that we’re behind y’all, and we’ve got your back.
Yeah, this is perfect. AJ, what is that high chord that squirts out your mando at 3:25 after the bluesy part of the instrumental. And I heard it again later. So cool!
