It makes me sad just thinking about my dog now. I give you my deepest condolences. I have a mini schnauzer, too, who's nearly 13 - and I used to have another that looked much like little Rudi. They really are the best, most loving and most loyal dogs. Pet loss is so so hard, and I'm so sorry for your loss 😭😭
This genuinely brought me to tears. My own childhood dog doesn't have long, I can tell. I worry a lot that i haven't done enough, or haven't shown her all the love i could have. But then I look at her laying in the living room while me and my family watch tv and realize that this dog has had the dream life. Never has she gone without food, water, treats, a nice bed, grass to play on, or all the pets she could ever want. I don't know how much comprehension dogs really have, but I think somewhere she knows she is loved. And that's enough for me. I'm sorry for your loss, Jack. I know Rudi knew how much you and your family loved him, and I know he's resting easy now.

@@gamingturkey57 It's terrible honestly. I had a cat with diabetes and we only found out until she was relatively old. Really sucked, cause treatment is expensive too n stuff. Know you're not coping well, but hopefully things get better man.

He seemed so sweet! The world will miss Rudi. A while back I had to put down my 19 year old golden, chow mix dog. She’s been with me my whole life and it was so sad to see her go. My other dog (it’s now a few years later) is getting older and last year we got a puppy. Safe to say Gizzy taught my older dog everything about being good and Bella in turn is trying (albeit in vein) to teach my puppy. Dogs never really leave us alone, they bring enough happiness to last us to the moon and back.
About a year ago, a lost my childhood dog. 10 years old, so he lived a long time for a Bernese mountain dog. I always remembered him being there, so it was so hard to lose him. I have a new dog now, and he’s so wonderful, but I’ll always love my first ever dog too. Thank you, Jack, for making such a wonderful video showing how much love dogs bring in our lives. i've had my dog since i was 9 years old. i'm 22 now and he will be turning 13 in september. he's gotten to that point where we don't know how much longer he has left. i'm so sorry for your loss
I’m so sorry Jack, loosing a dog is a whole different pain man. I lost my sweet boy a few years ago and I still haven’t gotten over it. Love you lots, hope everything goes well for you in the future and Rudi is so adorable
I got my dogs around age 9 too and lost one of them just last month, this hit too close to home. He was old, 13, and had a good life despite crap health at the end. Making the decision to put him down was the toughest choice in the world. Thanks for sharing this, Jack. I'm sorry any of us have to lose our pets.
Fly high Rudi, and be a good pup in heaven. Sorry Jack, for the loss of your dog. I know how that feels because about 2 years ago, I had to put down one of my dogs. She was getting old, about 13 years old, and she was a Chihuahua and Pomeranian mix, and she was the best. So, sorry for your loss.
As a proud dog owner who had to put down our first dog in 2020 and whose whole family has always owned dogs this was a good cry. Dogs are such massive parts of a family and Rudi seems like a loved part of yours.
very sorry for your loss jack. my childhood dog is two months younger than rudi, and has recently started to show her age too. this was a really lovely tribute and makes me appreciate my own dogs that little bit more.

i’m sure he was one of the best pups and i’m sorry to hear he passed. losing a dog is such a hard thing to go through, but i did let out a laugh when i saw you have always had the buzz cut 😂
Sorry for your loss! We r going thru it too. My furbaby of 16 who was my shadow and best friend had a violent seizure while curled up next to me, out of the blue. It was traumatizing and horrible and I’m hurting so bad. I miss her and can’t get the visuals out of my head. To all of you who have pets don’t take them for granted and spend time with them deciding to put them down is the hardest thing ever but sometimes it’s also the kindest. The treatment plan for my fur baby didn’t insure me She wouldn’t have another horrible seizure and I couldn’t risk it. It seemed like too much to put her through at her age. Pets are a gift, they give so much love and they deserve our love as well and they don’t live forever so all I can say-spend time with them and not to take them for granted and when they’re gone, be happy for the time, and love and memories most of all that they left you with ! RIP RUDI & my girl TUXI! always in our hearts!❤

I understand this pain we have all had dogs and have all had to leave our good boys and girls behind but one thing we have to remember that they left fun memories and the good times that we made with our friends are always there to remember and love.

I recently lost my childhood dog too, a beagle named Snoopy that lived to 15 years old! It's a wonder how he lived for so long But you're right, dogs don't live as long as humans and as my mom says 'it's part of the deal'. What matters is that we gave the dogs we had the best life they could have. May Rudi be having fun in doggy heaven, chasing other dogs or chasing squirrels ❤
