Great video guys ! No bullshit , just real talk ! I’ve gotten away from oil primers 99% of the time just because I hate having to carry paint thinner around . SW pro-block acrylic stain killing primer does a really good job blocking stains , but most importantly it goes on better than most quality paints . It can be brushed or rolled and leaves a very very nice surface for the finish coats to go over . Bleeding knots need a few coats of shellac , red cedar or walnut need oil , but in reality those types of stains will bleed through eventually anyway . Always make sure the customer has the correct expectations , that will save a lot of headaches down the road .

No primer needed on decks typically. If the customer is using a semi transparent stain using a protective moisture barrier after staining can be a good option to help against mold/mildew build up
