A creative person is able to sew not only new things, but also remake old ones, and there is nothing wrong with that.
For example, a sweater or blouse that has become small, but is still in good condition, how many good memories are associated with them. You can make many more from your favorite things.
Even the sleeve will serve as the basis for a complete remodel. The elastic band plays a big role here; it sets the tone for the entire product. But you can do something without an elastic band.
Check out three simple things you can do without any sewing skills.
1. Children's pants.
I cut off the sleeves from the sweater.
I drew the depth, I have it 20 cm, plus 4 cm for the elastic. I cut the width along the hip line by 4 cm. At the front, I reduced the seam by 1 cm.
This pattern can be transferred from ready-made children's trousers. If you attach them to the sleeve, it will be clear in advance whether the width is suitable.
I sewed a wide elastic band along the waistline using an overlocker.
Then I turned it two turns and stitched it. The size of the pants depends on the sleeve size.
2. Hat.
We cut off the sleeve from such a blouse so that its width is not narrow. Unfold and place the seam in the middle. Cut out an oval.
Making ears. We put them on one side and stitch them.
On the other side, leave 6-7 cm for turning.
We put one side into the other and make a small flap, which we sew manually at the back.
Ready.
3. Socks.
This thing is simply necessary now; when it gets cold, it’s a nice thing to warm your feet.
You have to buy socks all the time, as these things wear out quickly.
You can sew a few socks for yourself at home with your own hands. There are many different ways to do this, one of them is sleeves.
First, you need to stand on the sleeve and estimate the height of the sock; to do this, you need to lift the edge with the elastic band. Here, note the length of the foot.
For example. the height of the toe is 15 cm. Place a mark here and cut out triangles that will form the heel.
It is necessary to take into account when cutting that the heel will take away centimeters. Therefore, the foot is cut longer.
All that remains is to stitch all the seams.
As you can see, there is nothing complicated here, you only need sleeves.
