Tom always seems to be so knowledgeable on every subject, and has a great sense of humour.

Kitty Carlisle is always classy. Suzy Parker was a babe. Tom Poston is the male version of Polly Bergen. Almost. Thanks for the video.

Suzy Parker is so beautiful in black and white. In color she's even more gorgeous and had RED hair.

Who knew at that time there would not always be a market for fur coats.

Harold "Hap" Anderson had just moved down to Charleston, South Carolina to take charge of the radio and TV stations there as well as a TV station in Montgomery, Alabama. From 1959 to 1961, he was Vice President and General Manager of 1010 WINS in New York station, building on the Top 40 format already in place and helping it become the number one station in the NYC metropolitan area market. (I recognized his name immediately because of his connection to Top 40 radio giant Rick Sklar and Hap being mentioned in Sklar's book "Rocking America".) Anderson resigned and left NYC in 1961 when J. Elroy McCaw (who bought the station for $450,000 in 1953) sold the station to Westinghouse for $10 million., not waiting around for the FCC to approve the deal. WINS continued to play Top 40 music, but eventually lost the ratings battle to Musicradio 77 WABC after Sklar moved to that station and soon became its Program Director. In April 1965, Westinghouse took the radical and scoffed at step of making WINS the first continuous all-news radio station in the United States. They coined the phrase "You give us 22 minutes, we'll give you the world." The all-news radio format has been copied many times since, especially when most music stations abandoned the AM band for FM.

Suzy Parker is the one whom the term "supermodel" was invented for.

@@ironduke2000 not to take anything away from Jinx Falkenburg, it should be noted that Suzy was the first model to command a rate of $100 an hour and earn $100,000 a year as a model. She also was an accomplished photographer and served as an editor of a publication (magazine?). Additionally she was an actress who somewhat retired when she raised her children. Certainly though, Jinx did help pave the way.
